- Just wanted to share my 3 monitor setup with the Microsoft Surface Pro 2. I am not using a USB adapter, this is done with DisplayPort Multi Stream. Once cable out of the Surface Pro 2 can drive three independent monitors. Some people have had issues setting this up, and doubted weather the device could do it or not. I am not using
To make this work I had to run Winodws Update. One of the updates did a "System Update" or firmware update, I presume this is what made it finally work.
hey dude - at least tell us what kind of adapter You used? Name of the model.
Here's the link for the item in Amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HK8V5KE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
A heads up it is not very easy to setup. It was not Plug-n-Play for me.
Thumbs down for the awful music and lack of explanation how you've done this. A better option would be to narrate "this is what I have, this is how I've done it", something along those lines. Thanks!
Hi, I actually uploaded another video narrating and showing what I did. It's the other video on my channel.
Hi, How do you make the Surface Pro screen turn off and make one of the other exterior monitors the main display? And hdmi adaptor are you using with 3 ports? And do they have one with 6 ports? I wonder if you can arrange them in 3 over 3 on windows setting. Please let me know if you know how. Thanks
hey friend thanks for the video posted !
but whats with the super loud music playing in the background? why do youtubers do that as it is so annoying ... thanks agan and gl
The music is from RUclips's library. When I applied the song I turned down the volume a bit, but I guess it wasn't enough. I just turned down the volume, hopefully not annoying anymore.
thank you friend ) happy holidays
Can U tell us the equipment that you use?
Thanks for your video! May I know if there is a slag? Do you know whether it can work under linux?
There's minimal lag.
my Surface pro 2 got the Win 10 update do you think this will still work
+Shawn allison I don't see why not. MST is a feature of the DisplayPort specification. Windows 10 wouldn't remove this feature.
Any recommendations for when one monitor is not displaying and the other one is flickering?
The only recommendation I have is to make sure you have good cables and a good connection. Also try turning the monitor on and off. My experience with my experience with DisplayPort port has been poor not very stable.
Thank you for the reply! I just got my mini-displayport to displayport hub and vga to displayport adaptors. Im bummed the connections are poor for others as well :(
How did you turn off surface display to add third monitor?
Walter Rim display settings. It can be tricky, as they have to be turn on and off in a certain order for it to work.
cool, can you share a link to buy the adapter(s)??
+Nikilan Rodriguez Please read comments... I will add the link to the description soon.
I love the song! What is is called?
It's Parasail - Silent Partner
Can I use 2 monitors with the wireless connect on the monitors?
Fernando Caparroz what is "the wireless connect".
TheOneEd there is a gadget wich I can connect surface on monitor without cables
I see. Understand that I don't now which gadget you're referring to and it would be more efficient if you shared that detail in your first message.
If this device transmits DisplayPort signal wireless it should work. The adapter shown here simply Daisy chains three DisplayPort adapter, what you do with the signal after that is up to you! :-)
Will this work with Surface pro 3?thanks
Anthony Tacda This should work on the Surface Pro 3 with no problem. Since this video I have upgraded to the Surface Pro 3 and I am using multi-stream to connect 2 external monitors with one cable out of the SP3. I feel the experience is better by buying the right monitors that support MST (Multi-stream) rather then go through the adapter. However the adapter is much cheaper.
