My only question is what app you used on the tablet???? 😅
That's Procreate.
Awesome!!
Pro Church Tools with Brady Shearer is there a template for what you showed in the video? Or did you create it all?
Erick S Rodriguez The diagram? I created that.
Wow! This is absolutely a masterclass of a rare quality! Thanks a million!
This guy has astounding and shocking mental clarity on this subject. Info that I had gathered in bits and pieces from many other videos, he seems to have summed it up so nicely in a single short video! Excellent!
Brady I have sent you an email for private consultation, please respond.
Amazing job Brady! We often use such resources and forget to encourage the creator. This is very evident with churches as well. Often the congregation absorbs but rarely gives back - even something as simple as a like or comment.
So GREAT work and i love your channel. Keep it up and God bless you man 💪🏽
Thanks for a clear presentation of the live stream setup, and the options available. I've always found this hard to get my head around. Your drawing on the iPad was really helpful. Thanks for the way you are serving the church at this time.
Man, you’re so good. I am so confused on which one is which, what to get and how to connect but not anymore after seeing this video. Thank you so much for breaking it down. It gave me a firm idea on what direction to go on streaming our church services.
I was surprised not to hear NDI and OBS studio mentioned at all. We have our cameras and computer on our Cabled Ethernet network, no other hardware required.. Sound from mixing desk goes over Ethernet using Dante. A very simple, robust, reliable pain free setup. Ethernet cables are very reliable.
This is all the foundation I needed to know! Pretty great work! May the love and blessing of our lord be upon you and all your projects! ❤️
This is the most helpful advice I’ve seen yet on this topic. You deserve a subscribe 👍🏻👍🏻
WOW, this video overall is SO GOOD. The production of it is amazing (loved the humor too). Plus, the content is easily understood! Great job guys. Thanks for posting content like this!
I applaud you! This was an excellent video full of much needed information and clarification of the how and why. I feel less confused and I believe I can have a more informed conversation with my pastor as we discuss next steps for our permanent live-streaming setup. I am eagerly awaiting your next video on the "what" to use.
Brilliant! Glad to hear it.
@@prochurchtools Yes, need a video to cover the gear; especially the camera for live production. There are lots of videos out there to cover ProPresenter and OBS, but not as many about the camera.
Watching this video is Homework for our Corporation meeting at St John the Baptist Church, Pointe-Claire, QC, Canada.
This is great! We are a new nonprofit organization streaming our programs. You're been a "God-send"! Thanks!
Thank you so much Brady for everything you do. This video broke down everything I needed to know but I've already had to rewind and watch several different things because of how much information you gave! It is so cool how all of our churches are having to move to something like this. I need to find a budget friendly option but this helped me know where to start!
Thanks for watching, and the kind words! You might find the budget friendly options my friend Joel put together here: www.joelwsmith.com helpful.
You just earned a subscriber. I have been tasked with putting Bible setup in my church and possibly live stream
I feel that this was quite a simple breakdown of what’s needed, definitely will share this with the worship team and AV volunteers
And one more thing: keep on doing what you do!
Valentin Onitu Glad to year it, Valentin. 🙏
This is Great!
Brady Shearer is a source of fire and inspiration!!
Thank you Sir Brady 'He Rocks Like' Shearer
I am volunteer staff at my church over spiritual development ministries, but I work at a small nonprofit doing all things creative. I haven't had the pressure to livestream for my day job like churches have, but I have definitely had to consider it for things in the coming weeks/months. This video greatly helped me, and I absolutely love what you do. Keep it up and thank you!
Thanks for the kind words, Mitch.
@@prochurchtools Of course. Quick question-where do software/services like OBS or Be.Live come into play here? Are they considered sources or destinations?
I keep watching your video because I understand something new every time haha im a slow learner but im taking one step at a time. God bless ! Thank you for your videos.
Bro that was soooo helpful! I have always had an interest in doing this kind of thing, but couldn't find a place that explained it well. You did an incredible job!!
This is yet another great video that allows start ups like our church to have access to tools that only mega churches have had in the past. We have been using Switcher but there's a super annoying buffer when we stream live. Now I'll be looking into our Internet speed.
A great place to start for troubleshooting, Amber.
Simple and informative. Great. Like your vision to help the churches worldwide with your informational
This is great. I was thinking I'd need to write a "dummy guide" to how our live stream works... But this has everything I wanted to cover (except for documenting our actual setup, of course)
incredible helpful. - I knew much of it but it helped clarify a few things and helped me realised I was on the right wavelength! Thanks!
I think I learned from your other videos how important the audio is! It's incredibly important with livestream and something I ignored for so long. It's also harder to get right.
Look, Brady, this was A LOT. Thanks for taking that one on - and bringing us all with you! I'm impressed that you got that all into 11 minutes. My favorite part was hearing that your phone can do it all. The only thing I need now is for my phone to stream simultaneously to Facebook AND RUclips. Tips for that?
Hmm. Not sure if that’s possible from your phone - from a desktop, I’d recommend Restream.io.
Sorry to sound negative but the section about encoders is incorrect. The correct term is called a video switcher / video overlayer. The encoder takes the resulting frame and encodes it to the proper destination format. On a computer (Nvidia Cards) the NVENC chip on the graphics card (not the GPU) encodes it via hardware (note: if your card does not have a NVENC chip then it proceeds to use software encoding via the CPU). Its because of this that buying the correct graphics card is important.
The best explanation on the web. Thank you. Love your lighting and set-up. A++

Amazing video! Loved the quality and the content was great too, thanks a lot.
Yo Brady! That intro beat that you have been using in your intros is a straight banger!!
Amazing! You are a fantastic teacher and your videos are so professional!!
Appreciate the kind words 🙏
By far one of the BEST videos about this i've ever seen! Thank you!
(Sorry for my English i'm still learning)
Hey, you guys should do a review of video editing software's for churches. From consumer grade to professional, etc.
Thanks for the suggestion!
@@prochurchtools Keep up the great work! I'm from a church in Gatineau, Quebec and we love your content! Very inspiring!!
This is excellent. I've had to learn all of this over the last few weeks and I wish your video was out when I first started learning. Even after learning all of this, I like the way you broke it down for us. Thank you for putting all the work into teaching this to churches. Also, that ATEM Mini Pro... 😍
David Pavkovich 🙏
God bless you, and thank you for your information.
Great 👍 one
My next recommended video is Pro Church Daily #114 "Why Live Streaming for Churches is Overrated" from 2 years ago. My, how the world has changed...🤣
The thing is...I fully stand behind that video. I still think live streaming a traditional service doesn't make sense for most churches. That being said, it's a highly nuanced take - and sometimes, I serve churches best when I help them do the things they want to do on the tech side, rather than berate them for doing those things in the first place on the strategy side. A tough tension to manage.
@@prochurchtools Oh I totally get it, and agree that under normal circumstances live streaming isn't the right move for every church. I just had to laugh at the dichotomy between the two videos. Been a fan for a while, thanks for all you do!
Great vídeo. You nailed it bro
This is sooooo helpful. Thanks for explaining it simply!
Love the video, but that backing track is hard to deal with... Why is it there? Very distracting and repetitive, it made it hard to get through the full video.
Thanks for watching, and for the feedback Tim!
Thank you so much for your help with this! So much good insight to help us represent God to an audience with the respect God deserves
Thanks for watching, Ian.
That was really informative and helpful in sorting out the basics! Thanks!
Hi Brady, Great video. Do you have a setup course done if not could you do one. Could you also tell me why does a system need a bridge box.
Waiting patiently to see what encoders you recommend!!! :) Thanks for all you do.
TL;DR: It's OBS for software. For dedicated hardware it's either Blackmagic Web Presenter or the new ATEM mini.
a really well explained video made sense to me thank you very much
Laura Olding glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic tutorial! easy to follow, i have a question. what are available option for internet source?
Brady, I'm grateful and somehow feel indebted to you for this video, along with all the other spectacular videos that have been extremely helpful for our small church. Also, saw your classes you will be starting soon. Do you offer scholarships? Anyways, just wanted to express my gratitude. Your content has been pure gold. Cheers
Thanks for the kind words, Nathaniel. No scholarships with The 167 right now. Just because each student requires my personal time and attention, it's not an easy thing to discount - unlike software, where if we issue you a scholarship our hard costs don't increase dramatically.
Can I use 3 computers? One for my media sources, 2nd for my encoding and 3rd for uploading/streaming
Thanks Brady. I'd be interested in seeing a video about your thoughts re: live streaming vs simply recording in terms of initial investment, effort and quality. Love your work and enthusiasm! Keep it up!
Easy answer for me on this - I highly recommend recording/premiering over live streaming. I think the pros vastly outweigh the cons and it's not particularly close.
Thanks for the quick reply! You just verified what I was thinking.
Awesome video Brady! Thank you!!!
I just sent this video to my staff, because I gave up trying to explain it myself
Yes HDMI STILL AND WILL ALWAYS SUCK!!! Can you do a review on cameras or camcorders with sdi out
Did Brady just quote Borat?! Haha!!! Love it!!
Rick & Amy Cordova 👀
Thanks for the tips. But I'm having issue in getting audio from my mixer for Livestreaming, maybe because I am not using any gear for the now. I connect my cable from the mixer to the laptop, very noisy.
You nailed it bro. keep on can't wait to see next video.
Nicely done. Very informative
Thank You
Hi, thank God that you are here. Just talking a little bit over 11 minutes. Well, our church issue is that we don't have an Ethernet yet. As it has been neglected sometime ago and because of the lock down. I am thinking of using an i5 computer with an extra monitor, buy an ATEM Mini Pro and a Mevo camera using Zoom as our live streaming platform. We are hesitant for further investment, as if we don't have a working Ethernet connection, we need to use a WIFI hotspot. So if that's the case, we might perhaps use a mobile phone for Zoom Connection and share the video to make the mobile phone a cohost. This will be changed if we can properly invest an i7 computer. Our church desktop for PowerPoint Presentation may be antique. So, we need to consider that. Do you think using an ATEM Mini Pro with an i5 lap top (or i7 desk top) with ethernet will work with Zoom. I have an i7 desktop, but bringing it to church every Sunday will be very funny and exhausted. Thank you and looking forward to hear from you soon.
Thanks for breaking it down!
THANK YOU for this!
Sooo well put!
Hi
Do you have a guide on capturing live instruments ?
Thank you for the information btw, subscribed and God bless
all I wanna say is Thank you.
Love Michael scotts quote 🤣
Very interesting video, but I have a question for you. If I make a multicam with three cameras, two entering the atem via hdmi, and one entering via a wireless transmitter like the cosmoC1, how do I delay the two hdmi input cameras so that all three are in perfect sync?
So if I'm going to use a software encoder like you talked about (example - WireCast), what specs should my computer have to be able to handle it all?
Would love to know the answer to this question.
Is there a more current version…like 4th qtr 2022…version of this?
I never comment on videos but seriously thank you!
I am encoding using OBS. Our current computer cannot handle OBS and live streaming and all sorts of other things we're demanding it. :) So, we're looking into getting another computer. What computer specs should I be looking for? AMD/ Intel? SSD / HDD (does it matter?) 16GB / 32GB RAM? What kind of graphics card?
Thanks for the Swiss Mountains in the intro
Familiengemeinde Langenthal It was a great trip visiting there.
Thanks for this bro!
Brady - Excellent Video - Thank You!! I am us an Nikon Z50 - I also have a 2013 MacBook Pro Retina (yeah I know it is up there in age) but if I go with the ATEM Mini Pro - do you think I can make it work and be able to live stream? I currently record and post (with 2 mics) on RUclips for the parishioners but would like to get to live streaming - also one last thing - the church has no internet - so it would be via Cellular - LTE fairly strong signal. Can I make it work?
This is great. Thank you!
Saw one guy's RUclips video showing his setup using ATEM mini Pro and when he demonstrated video coming through it, the video's frame rate was low and the video was jerky - gave me the impression of a low quality HDMI to USB capture device. Is this how the ATEM works? Does anyone have good success with it - good frame rates and quality?
Great job as always!!!! Can you make a video on how to stream to multiple platforms at once? RUclips, facebook, instagram and our church online platform ?
That's where you'd want a platform like Restream.io.
@@prochurchtools Awesome! Thanks Brady and Team!
Excellent !! Thank you so much for these video. And I am very close to setting up a RUclips live steam with help from your video. I have one related question regarding sharing the URL. Can you please explain which URL to share with community? It seems that each live event in youtube generates a distinct URL. So do we have to share separate URLs each week>> I'm looking for a static URL which I can share with the community, and they can click on the same URL every weekend. I'd highly appreciate if you can guide me with this question. Please.
Hi Brady, Great video! Question on the recorder option coming from the switcher. Do I need an external recorder or can I record to my computer connected to the switch (ATEM mini)? Thanks
Great video thanks for simplifying so much info. Brady what is your opinion about sling studio?
Haven't used it personally. I know churches that do and are pleased with it. I'm hesitant to use a fully wireless solution for live streaming, even if the hardware is quality.
@@prochurchtools thanks.
Is it possible to do this same thing but just send it to another building? On the same grounds? Without using a third part?
This was great, thank you. Could you give a bit more info on how to get from encoding to the multiple streams? OBS, streaming service, etc.?
Plenty of different options to go with. You already mentioned OBS. Ecamm Live is really nice too.
To go from OBS to Facebook and RUclips at the same time you'll need to use a paid streaming service like restream.io or castr.io. Or, you'll have to have a 2nd computer that can take the output from the OBS machine and bring that into OBS on the 2nd machine and have the 2nd machine stream to a different destination. We experimented with it, but it has a lot of opportunity for failure, and it adds sync issues to the 2nd stream. We opted to use a service instead. The free tiers won't allow you to stream to a public Facebook page though, so know upfront you're going to have to spend some $15-20/mo. But, it's pretty easy to setup and use.
How do I now what bit rare I’m streaming on? Let’s say I’m using a Panasonic GH5 with the sound coming in from a Yamaha TF5. Where would I find that info? As a streaming software I would be using OBS
@Bradyshearer Can i use my phone to live stream from facebook/youtube using a pixel 3a and then have the ability to add song lyrics scripture passage or any other graphic to the stream?
If yes what equipment am i going to need?
Thank you for the great guide! I am live streaming my sister's wedding in March, any tips or changes I should consider? I currently have a sony a7iii and an el gato.
Still waiting to receive my BlackMagic ATEM Mini. Is anyone else's order stuck in BackOrder?
Dan Idoux Out of stock everywhere right now it seems
So I will connect an ethernet from the router or modem to the Encoder?
Awesome
I always love your info, but I need some more resources. We truly are a mobile church that runs from different locations each Sunday (when weather permits) We are limited by either the locations Internet connection (their wireless) or hot spot cellular device. Wireless devices to software encoder (iPad) to a wireless Internet connection. This info will be great if/when we ever get a permanent location. But alas the rona has limited us for now. We really are on the cutting edge and pushing our technology. Any suggestions?
Keep up the good work. (At least we got Nucleus to make us look good!)
For this, Eddy, I would pre-record/premiere your services rather than live stream. It will make your workflow considerably easier and make up for the variability in your internet speeds.
@@prochurchtools We do this as we can. Primarily we do drive in church, but when it rains we try to find a shelter to do live. We're a new start up (4th Q 2019) and was meeting in the gym of the school, but we can't go back there yet. Small church in a small city. Thanks for the quick response.
During COVID-19 limitations, I am doing live-streams from unusual outdoor settings. Any suggestions for live-streaming when I might not have electric outlets, WiFi, or even a reliable cell signal?
Any suggestions for an affordable setup?
Hello, what mobile application are you using to write and draw the architecture
Thank you! I see there is both a Blackmagic Switcher mini and mini pro. There's a HUGE price difference, but I can't see what the difference is between them. Will the original for $295 be able to encode and switch for live streaming like the pro for $595? Do you know?
Great video. How do I live stream to Tik Tok?
Churchfront with Jake Gosselin Living As One Prism encoder would be a good start
@@prochurchtools perfect, I'll pick one up today
You need 1000 followers for that i think
We are new to live streaming and I would like to be able to setup some mics to include the in house congregation audience in my live stream. Any equipment ideas.
I would like to view a church service that has used this set up with the Atem Mini Pro.
If you're talking about the ecoding feature you shouldn't really be able to tell the difference compared to a capable computer running OBS to do the encoding. If the machine isn't doing anything else it doesn't take an overly powerful machine to do software encoding.
What kind of a grafffic card that you are using to draw chart ? Or is it software c
So, just by buying and using an ATEM Mini pro, one can get video sources and live stream to youtube or facebook, or both at same time? @Pro Church Tools with Brady Shearer
Not both at the same time without separate software - but direct to one of FB or YT, yes.
Brady hello,
I record videos at my Church. We are a small Church. I need a Video Recorder that can live stream to Facebook and record also for You Tube. I'm older and I don't know much about streaming from a Video Recorder.
Right now I record on a Sony Video Camera and I'm Streaming Facebook live on my Cell phone. I upload the Recorded video to You Tube.
We are a growing Church so we want to buy something under $500 but yet when we grow even larger we can use this Recorder for a couple of years. I hope that makes sense. I'm not as Tech savvy probably as most ppl.
Thank you,
RB
Does the black magic switcher work as a replacement for the elgato cam link for connecting a DSLR camera through hdmi cable?
❤❤❤❤
How about streaming from mobile? I have account on Streamyard and this streaming service well done for mobile streaming support.
for small churches with small youtube subscribers - stream from mobile is hard to choose. Almost all streaming services not free or good quality.
