I'm assuming that we shouldn't leave the mic in the back in the sound booth (40 yards) away from the speakers? Or can we? We haven't purchased the Rode Go Wireless yet. Thanks for your input.

Hi! For those willing to use their Phones as cameras and be able to use it in OBS, I suggest using the Iruin 4k Webcam App as it is free and available to be used via USB (android) which decreases delay *I don't have an iDevice so I don't know if this works*. And if you have more phones lying around you can use it as a multicam setup.

Just use OBS for switching, recording and stream encoding on a laptop or desktop you may already have. Then use one or two camcorders you or someone else in your church may already have. Bring in the camcorder video using a couple HDMI to USB3 converters found on Amazon for around $18. Yes they do work very well. Why everyone feels they need to buy a digital SLR camera is a puzzle to me. They're expensive and a very clunky form factor for shooting video. Great for shooting photos but clunky for video, plus most of them overheat while shooting video for several minutes.

    • @GaryKimball
      @GaryKimball 3 года назад

Lol my church's budget for streaming when we first went remote was literally $0. I pulled out my Logitech Webcam and a desktop Microphone and use OBS to run everything to youtube live. I even run the projector for lyrics and slideshow from that same laptop so I can just do screen capture in OBS to get a good viewing on the stream. Not great... but does the job. My first two upgrades are probably going to be a camcorder and a new audio solution, maybe the GO Wireless system he mentioned here as we already had a sound board going into this.

Please consider making a video about how to do quality video and audio for "overflow" rooms as churches reopen. Great video. I've subscribed. I have a question. Our church has a Behringer X32 mixer, RODE Go wireless mic system and we upload pre-recorded video to our Facebook and RUclips. For the most part, that works best for us due to the ability to edit the video. I heard that you mentioned using the RODE Go microphone to capture all the available output from the mixer. This will be huge to capture the total sound (e.g. singer and instruments). The camera we are using is the Panasonic 4K HC-VX870. From what I can see, the camera has a microphone input(which I have been using for the Rode Go receiver) and a "A/V" input. Both are 3.5mm input. At the 5:12 minute mark, you advised the use of mini XLR for sound. As best as I can tell, the current camera does not have a XLR input. Will using the current mic 3.5mm input hinder the sound coming from the mixer? What do you suggest. Thanks.

Brad, thank you for the help. This is from a 40 year av guy that has done 2 churches, my own and another. Why are we combining audio at the camera? I have done this at my church and for AV distribution to fellowship hall and such it is great as both in sync and on the HDMI. But this does not seem to function with the elgato converter and we take the audio off the board and combine and sync in the OSB software. For whatever reason, every Lord's Day, I have to sync the audio video for the stream. Seems to be with changing local ISP demands. I am doing a third church and am trying to make this as easy for them as possible. They have a mac book pro and I will probably be using a remote control camera with HDMI output and hopefully a small mixer that may also have USB mix out.

Nice setup for $2500 you get 1 camera, and then spend more on the equipment to attach it. Here is something to think about. We put in 4 camera's, an ATEM switcher, sound board, and new wireless microphones and PC for this same amount. 3 Cannon VIixa R800's, One Mevo Live Stream, 1 ATEM Mini, 1 Mackie ProFX 12 Sound Board, 1 Phynx PRO PTU-7000B (4 wireless mics), AMD Ryzen 5G w/16 GB of memory PC, Elgato Stream Deck, Cables, associated mounting hardware, and ball head tripod mounts. You do not need to spend a fortune on high end equipment to produce a great service experience. It was easier over 9 months to grow this system. For small churches the ATEM Mini and one or two inexpensive cameras with OBS is enough and then that system can grow. Something for everyone to think about. Our total cost: $2500 rounded up.

You can probably get the lense and the adapter on ebay for under 100 dollars and that way you only need about 1700 dollars with a BMPCC 4k option.

Great options - thanks for breaking down the steps. I've watched your other video where you draw out the live streaming path on an iPad, so these two videos work well together.
Does the RODE option have sound delay? The sound has to go through the sound system and wireless RODE but the filming goes straight to the live feed.
Currently we use your third option, but use the RUclips feed with Life Church's online platform which gives us a clean URL to share with people. I also like the online.church platform as it doesn't have adds.
Also on instagram you suggested we comment on the filming setup you are using, I felt the camera angle was too low, I kept moving in my chair to try get a better angle. I'd rather feel I'm sitting across the desk from you, not below the desk. Still the content was great, so keep up the amazing ministry to us small church pastors.

@@prochurchtools I have watched you for quite awhile and appreciate your insight and expertise, would you be open to sharing your reasons for your aversion to ptz? Our reasoning is ability to mount centrally and control remotely (pan tilt for choir and specials). Setups you have shown have a need for the camera to be close at hand but our sound/computer area is in the back corner (I know, not ideal) and video from just that point would always seem off kilter, not to mention take up space in the aisle. Thanks in advance!

My aux out on the board is 1/4 inch mono and I cant find an adapter (Stereo 3.5mm male TRS to 1/4in Male TS Mono) that'll send stereo signal to the Rode. Any suggestions? Are you coming off the headphone jack? I have an adapter for that one which sends a stereo signal.

Question: Our church has only a Canon m100 which doesn't have an audio input... Can we still use a wireless audio connected into our laptop while the camera is also connected with the laptop through a video capture card? I mean will the sound synch?...

So you don't need some kind of mobile interface between the wireless receiver and the phone??

Hi Brady, do you maybe have any recommendations for camcorder up to 500$ for church streaming?

Hey Brady. I'm wrestling with getting a decent feed to RUclips of our services. I have a Canon xa50, and get the audio from our Behringer x32. The audio sounds good when I check the recording on the SD card (it isn't mixed really well, but that has more to do with our tech training), but the audio on the livestream is awful. It is especially bad during worship, and sounds really garbled. Where you the disconnect be between the livestream and the recorded version? I'm connecting the camera to my Macbook Pro using the Camlink 4K, and am sure to select the Camlink for both audio and video in RUclips. My guess is that it has something to do with the internet capabilities, but I was wondering if there could be something else I'm missing.
Thanks for your content. I sure helps a lot of us in huge ways.

Hey Brady! Thanks so much for the video. Is the setup you're recommending for a phone a mono output? Also, what are you plugging into on your board? Aux output? Lastly, is this going to capture 6-8 inputs at a time?

Hi Brady...our church service can go upto 3hrs long..Do you recommend a DSLR like you showed in this video or a camcorder? I hear the DSLR's get heated up, and also a dummy battery (AC input) is needed to run the camera for longer durations...Can you please shed some light on this. Thanks!

Great video and you touched on exactly what I was looking for! Using the Rode wireless go ii with a soundboard. I never tried it and I have been using the two transmitters independently, using essentially the audio that comes out of them instead of the church soundboard. The only issue I could see is if the soundboard out of line of sight from where your camera is. The second generation has better range, and many setups have the soundboard in the back of the church, but I am curious if you have ever tried this when the soundboard is actually located in a room further away…

Very informative video bro. What wires can be used to connect camera to the computer to reduce signal loss if the computer isn’t near to the camera ?

I need a recommendation for an affordable camera, with microphone input and wifi capability to live stream the service directly from the camera. Any suggestions? God bless
