Bad Company has so many great songs. Paul Rodgers has one of, if not the best soulful rock and roll voice ever.
Him and Coverdale are different sides to the same coin
I'd add Lou Graham to the covo
The late James Dewar (singer/bass player) from Robin Trower's band had some soulful pipes too.
THE BEST!!
@@funkster007 Always like to see some love for Dewar. He was great.
The song Lex is thinking of at the break is Time of the Season by the Zombies.
Thx, man. I could hear it in my head but not far enuff to recognize it. ✌😎
It's been a favorite of mine since I was eight in 1970
"What's your name?" "Who's your daddy?"
Is he rich, like me
Yeah I recognized it immediately but don't agree in the least, but what else is new?
One of the greatest debut albums ever no questions about it.
😎
Very true, but this song was on their 4th album, "Burnin' Sky".
Love everything Paul Rodgers did, but ""Rock Steady", "Ready For Love", and when he was with the band Free my favs were "Fire and Water" and "Wishing Well". He toured with Queen after Freddie passed for 5 years or so. Great talent. He is referred to as "The Voice". Much deserved. He still sounds fantastic to this day!
I agree, and nobody reacts to Free, but they were awesome.
"Rock Steady" probably the best Bad Company song there is.
FREE is a deep rabbit hole, as well as BAD COMPANY.
I recently went down the 90's version (Brian Howe, I think was the singer) of BAD COMPANY. A totally different sound but still good songs. I kept saying, "Oh! I forgot about that one."
They had a sh!t ton of radio/video songs.
Don't forget the supergroup "The Firm"....Paul Rodgers, guitarist Jimmy Page, drummer Chris Slade, and bass player Tony Franklin. "Satisfaction Guaranteed",...."Midnight Moonlight Lady"....and "Radioactive"!!
@@trudydavidson528 The Firm was terrific. Great call.
One of my all-time favourite groups. The groove on this has a displaced backbeat that makes it for me.
We’re talking old school here.
Paul Rodgers had the perfect voice for rock.
....and still does as an older singer! His voice is still really good!
I think it has a groove to it. Very sultry. Super hot and definitely brings the smoke. One of my fave Bad Company songs.
Probably my favorite Bad Company song..so damn sexy.
Paul Rodgers is one of the best Rock & Blues-rock vocalists ever. Back up a few years & check out when his band was "Free".."Alright Now" & "Fire & Water" are great ones.💙☮
Best description of this…so damn sexy. Definitely a ‘groove’ to this.
They actually already did Allright Now.
@@brettkenschaft4239
Okay, thanks!
@@deborahcornell171 You bet! Great suggestion though, love that song!!
I agree. This could've been great background music while Linda Lovelace is 'going to work' or while John Holmes punishes his victim.
He was also the lead singer for "The Firm" with Jimmy Paige on the guitar. Great band you might want to check out. "Radioactive" and "Satisfaction Guarantee" are good songs to start with, but there are plenty other good ones by them.
the video for Satisfaction Guaranteed is exactly the smoky bar setting Lex has described many many times. ruclips.net/video/VnjJVwaivKg/видео.html
Brad & Lex, you'll love their "Can't Get Enough" and "Movin' On"!!! Paul Rodgers with the great vocals!
the best, rock steady, ready for love and seagull too so many
I'm so sick of "Can't get Enough". Please, the good stuff!
"Can't Get Enough" was the first song I ever heard from them and is still my favorite despite Classic Rock stations trying to overkill-it for decades now.
Paul Rodgers fronted a band called Free before this, they are great too, they have a very raw bluesy sound.
I see a thunderstorm approaching, with lightning, and the sun setting, lighting the sky afire. You, a prisoner from her love, have escaped, and are being pursued, and caught, before reaching her love again. The lyrics paint a vivid picture. I love it.
You guys should react to…
Bad Company - Rock Steady
🎸🤘
Brad trying to figure out the lyrics and Lex just feeling the Music is a Great Combo
Bad company has lots a good tracks “good lovin gone bad “ “rock steady” “ evil wind “
One of my favorite Bad Company songs. The chorus is outstanding
What is the chorus?
You are getting some good stuff on lately. The song Evil Wind is good, Gone Gone Gone, Silver Blue and Gold...they even have a song call "Bad Company" which is strong.
Lex was FEELIN’ it! I’ve been feelin’ it since this one was released on Bad Company’s “Burnin’ Sky” album back in 1977. In all of Bad Co’s six albums with Paul Rodgers as their primary songwriter and lead vocalist, there wasn’t a single song that wasn’t worth listening to. Every song from every one of those six albums was a gem worth playing over and over again!
Some Bad Company nuggets.. Crazy Circles.. She's Gone.. Seagull.. Good Lovin' Gone Bad..
It's a blues groove with a dash of Funk thrown in for good measure.
I didn't realize how much I liked Bad Co. But I did. They delivered some funky rock and roll.
The song you're thinking about was "The Season Of Loving" by the Zombies. Speaking of Zombies you gotta do the full version of their tune called "She's Not There" .
I saw Paul with Jimmy Page in their band The Firm. They had a few good songs and they played several Bad Company songs. Great concert and Reaction. 👍
I always loved the older Bad Company; they had the blues grove rock down to a science. Paul Rodgers' voice is perfect for the music. One of my favorite bands.
This is hardrock soul music !
You're always in good hands with Bad Company. FYI, the "who's your daddy" song is Time of the Season by the Zombies.
Paul Rodgers voice defined Rock for many years Fantastic Tune
this is one of the best CLASSIC ROCK bands of all time, just like led zeppelin, you can listen to every album from the 70's, beginning to end and you won't hear a bad song. just classics. more bad co please. there's to many great songs to suggest just 1 but i'll try, check out - good lovin' gone bad. it's sure to please.
rock steady, simple man, shooting star, good lovin gone bad, wild fire woman etc.
I Love how you guys get right into the song...this is a classic groove
I forgot how damn dope they were!
Go back and listen to each instrument. What a masterpiece. Great reaction!!!
FINALLY‼️ one of their best imo, I request it often in live chat. I saw them on Desolation Angels tour, they opened with this song. I think its about a guy who thinks his gal is cheating on him.
LOVE Bad Company! Please do more!
My favorite group. Among about 50. Lol. One of my thousand favorite songs. Bad Company was mine and my first husband's jam.
Bad Company flashback... I remember bringing my eight-track suitcase of music out with me for the night.
I'm convinced real music just quietly passed away a some time ago.
Paul Rodgers has a great voice and been around for years with Free, Bad Company and The Firm
I love the faces Lex makes . They’re the same faces I make when I listen to this song . Lex , you’d be fun to hang out with n listen to music 🤗
Not a comment about this song per se. But Brad how do you think those of us who grew up with music that had a lot of changes and a lot of really meaningful lyrics felt about all the new music that came out that stayed the same all the way through that have nonsense lyrics. It's like going from deliciously seasoned food to like eating plain biscuit dough
It’s like going from a Picasso to fingerpaints
So true. Music went from being creatively experimental to corporate processed redundancy.
Its like going from a Camaro to a Prius
To me, it’s like going from one end of the chalkboard to the other with your fingernails.
@@nelliejewell2665 it’s like having my balls in a vice and toothpicks in my ears
Lex is perceptive about the well-rounded bass playing. The late great Boz Burrell (1946-2006) was a terrific bassist who before Bad Company played with the symphonic, highly technical legends King Crimson.
OK, now my comment diarrhoea is FINALLY over for today. I promise.
Wow that i didn't know
I LOVE rock trivia such as this! I did not know this. Like I say over and over, reading comments always holds hidden gems of fun info for old rockers like me! Lol. Thanks
That song is hypnotic. Love Rodgers singing, especially at the end. It was an underrated song in it's day. But that's Bad Company's fault for spoiling us back in the '70s, with so many other great songs.
Rock Steady is a nice funky riffed tune to check out.
This song is off the chain I just came across this song a couple weeks ago ..I’m getting into more old rock songs but this one is one of my favs
I really like the lyrics to the song seagull. It's off their first album.
So true! Seagull has great BadCo full voice, awesome lyrics, musicality ... also a fan of that tune. ✌
Thank you for sharing this with me
Paul Rodgers once again proving why he is considered one of the all time greatest vocalists of his genre! Try Rhythm Machine or Oh Atlanta....great tunes!
you should never stop video on a guitar solo.💚
Lex, this song should be classified in your "smoky bar" category.
Wild fire woman
Going deep on that one!
I saw this concert in St. Petersburg FLA. at the Bay Front Center, it was Bad Company and The Outlaws back in the day!
love this song....used to jam out to it on my drums, great beat.....I'd call it smokey..vocals & tempo,smokey....cos the sky is burnin'
Paul Rodgers one of my top 5 rock vocalists...and Lex, you speak of Zombies..."It's the Time of the Season"
🤘 🤘 Time of the season, the Zombies, Lex. Didn't know you covered it. Was a lifelong favorite of my sister ❤
*Lex - You always look so beautiful! Your hair looks fantastic today!*
*Great reaction!* 👍🏻
💜💫✌🏼🎵
You’ve got to appreciate Paul Rodgers phrasing. He doesn’t sing the same melody twice in the whole song.
That echo and phaser on that guitar solo is ridiculous 🎸
this is blues based....with some modern bad company flavor and a great song storyline
Saw them about 5 years ago & his voice is still amazing! He is also in better shape than most guys half his age 😜 🔥
Great job again 👏!!!
Great job thank you 😊
Thank you for playing this one!! This song is the complete opposite of Fresh Air by Quick Silver Messanger Service. I KNOW that Brad will find it very interesting!!
Love Bad Company...
Blues! Rock !
I love Lex's sound effects. Awesome.
Bad Company --- YES!!
Bad Company: The Master's of Ceremony.
Only Brad can interrupt a guitar solo as a regular practice.
Banger!
Bad Company and Led Zeppelin were on the same record company called Swan Song. They also had a supergroup in the 80's called The Firm. Recommended reactions for Satisfaction Guaranteed, Radioactive and All the King's Horses.
The Voice. The Groove of this song. Still today is Banger.
Simple groove rock and roll. I wore that album out.
Saw them live at 16 in '86. Laser show was most excellent.
I like how you guys get to it
Bout time. My favorite Bad Co tune.
Love the riff on this song..
This is my favorite Bad Co tune , some other good ones but this is my favorite .
Love road trips with Bad Company especially down to FLA….
Great album ... my fave BCo right there
Love Paul so much! One of the best singers in rock history!! ❤️
Bad Company was good, sturdy hard rock with relatable lyrics and crack musicianship. To see what these guys could do in concert, try Ready for Love, whether live in the 70s or at their later day, killer concert at Hard Rock Live, their jam at the end of Ready for Love is amazing. Enjoy! 🎸
He's a prisoner who escapes and gets caught again. She is his motivation for escaping to get back to her
Lex, the song you forgot was Time of the Season by the Zombies (what's your name? Who's your daddy?).
I hate when I forget stuff like that and it's on the tip of my tongue... which I do constantly these days.
Silver, Blue ang Gold, check it out.
Agree
suggested that too
Great song, love you guys...from here in Tennessee. This song is a prison break song, check out the lyrics...very cool.
“Chugging”! 🤘🏼👍😎
Funky Vamp.
I so love Lex and her descriptions of music vibes!!!! Please describe further what “chugging” means to you. I find it a fascinating description but I can’t wrap my head around what it means to her and I’ve listen to Bad Company for decades and “chugging” is beyond my tiny brain 🧠!!!!! So asks Austin Tx!!!!! 😜🎸🎸😎🍸
Seagull..Silver, Blue and Gold
Real good song - - real good album. The one-two punch of "Knapsack" and "Everything I Need" is the best part of album IMO. Lex would groove to it!
The song you're looking for is "Time of the Season." by the Zombies late 60's
The bass is so cool cuz Bozz , the bass player used a slide base . That’s why his bass sound is so unique. I think the song is about his woman either cheating or moving on and he kills or mangles her lover and ends up in prison . Then escapes to go tell her he loves her anyway. I may be wrong . But that’s what I get from it . And I’m with you , they had some down n dirty love songs in the 70’s . I like The Who , “ Bargain “ as a non sappy love song . Check that out if ya like non sappy 70’s love songs .
Oh hell yayuh!
Nice choice....going deep
Lol. My first download on my iPod was this song.
It's called emmer-effing grooooooooooovy!!
Bout a minute in.. Lex was feeling it 💃
" it's chuggin' " ...great description.
Paul Rodgers is the lead singer from Free . You reviewed their song "all right now"
One of the ultimate late 70s stoner bands
Big group during that time
Signed to Led Zepplins label
Some great classics from them for sure!
Bad Company is always good!
It's a basic blues-funk groove. I heard it way in the back, lex.
Bad Co. Great Rock Band of the Universum 😎..
That bass though. Funky! This songs requires a stank face. Stank face for stanky bass.
