We're both professional triathletes and this week we show you what staying home and not going to training camp looks like for pros in the winter. We live in Bend, Oregon and try to ski tour once a week for altitude, extra leg strength, and fun. Also important; bringing up the intensity of our stationary trainer workouts to make up for lower volume, and epic gravel rides when the weather is nice.

Missing from Eric's 20 min tubeless setup tutorial: Impossible to get tires on the the rim, sealant everywhere, bead won't seat, rim tape has a leak somewhere, valve not properly sealed, bloody fingers, hours turn to days, days turn to weeks, a deep dark anger slowly fills every crevice of your mind, lashing out at loved ones, pushing away help from family and friends, what have you done to deserve this? bike never gets ridden again, you never feel love again, all you see when you close your eyes is tires and sealant, slip into madness, never recover. who have you become? was it worth it? Should have been a golfer.

Most of that is with normal tube tire changes also. I have the bloody fingers to prove it 😂
Try getting a tubeless to seal when it's dark out, muddy, and you've been riding for 5 hours.

Hi, a bit late for the weekly fix today. but as always worth the check-in! Great bike segment at the end. And as always great music edit. Using the "Lighter Fluid" method of seating tire beads is much more exciting!
Between your ski videos and those of the DeBooms, I just bought (another) set of skis yesterday for doing some uphill skinning, then down the groomers at Sugar Bowl in the Tahoe region. My own triathlon life is now taking second chair to skiing. :)

I may have missed it but can you post the gear you guys use for the hike up with skis? skis? Boots? Skins? Love the video!
We use skins on touring skis and occasionally have to boot pack certain steep sections. We stay mostly in-bounds. I hope that answers your question :)
to shoot the skiing at time stamp 3:45, were you using gopro 360 or what type of stick to allow camera view to go from view behind you to moving the camera to front and record ahead of you?

Weather is crazy right now 🤯 literally bottoming put the tire on the rim on something sharp and cutting the tire. Happens all the time on technical trails and chunky gravel. Not an issue on buffed out gravel/dirt
Eric, quick general question. Now that your TTL brand is getting well established, any thought about changing the name of the channel? I am fascinated by these aspects of RUclips and brand building.
The process of transferring everything to a new Google account scares me because you can lose everything. It’s not quite as simple as just renaming it, unfortunately. But it’ll happen at some point

How does one get a pinch flat with a tubeless tire setup?
Only thing I can think is if the pressure is too low the rim can slice the tire sidewall.
Yep, this. We’ve got lava rock mixed in to our gravel roads and trails and I’ve sliced right through tires
