We're both professional triathletes, and this week we travelled to St. Petersburg, Florida to compete in the first ever Couples Triathlon Championship. Thanks to Nick Goldston for making this video for us so we could focus on racing! Also thanks to Triathlon Taren for providing us with a couple race morning shots.

Nick, you filled in all the gaps we missed watching FB live feed. One of the best videos so Nick is best support and helps to have excellent crew member. That said, I enjoyed watching this format and can see the mental decisions and prep that go into this new format are mind blowing! You did well-VERY WELL, and the analysis was spot on. Wow!!! That was such a cool video from the race. I absolutely adored the kinda raw parts. Storytelling was freakin on point, everything was just amazing. Best video you ever made in my opinion. Eric/Paula/Nick, thanks so much for the entertaining vid it was a mid-week treat! Royale/Stanford & Sharpe/Kasper are world class elites. Don't know much about the French couple, but Mariolaine Pierre is a "major league" runner. She ran her way up to 3rd at Daytona Special shout out to Nick for catching the "schmutz" on Eric's helmet before the race!
Yeah and her partner Clément Mignon won the Alpe d'Huez tri last year, 70.3 Andorra in front of Cam Wurf, and he's the long course national champion, so that's a very very strong podium

Omg you all did so amazing and man looking up the resumes of all of you before announcing was amazing, every athlete had legit impressive resumes. Great to meet you both and amazing job on your race. The car horn was funny looking back, not at the time lol
Haha the car horn worked out it the end 😂 but I literally thought “that can’t be it” in the moment.

Nice to see that you both had an enjoyable experience and were able to get some footage from the event. I do know Matt Sharpe, primarily because he raced at the Wasa Lake Triathlon several years ago and he didn't have much competition. All the best to both of your during the rest of the season.
He's one of the best guys I've ever met in the sport, and that's saying a lot. I hope he has a lot of success on the TT bike 👍

Congrats Eric and Paula. Have been following the channel for a year or so and love the footage. Sunday evenings (my time) are favorites just to pick up another video.
I do have one remark, though. The quality of audio is not as good as it should be. Have noticed it also before that when you do not speak directly to camera, it is hard to understand. In this video when summarizing the race, then on top there was also music playing which made it even harder to hear what Paula and Eric were saying. Please, use microphones or at least put down the sound of music. I understand that when you make lot of spontaneous videos, it is hard to use mics but sth you should consider for even better end result.

I feel you, man. I definitely wish the audio was perfect and clean, and I do have mics, but the extra step of carrying mics 24/7, putting on mics every time we want to film a quick 30 seconds just isn’t realistic 90% of the time. It would really impact the ability to be natural. When I shoot, I’m always thinking about it and trying to make it as good as possible

Yes, in Florida it's legal to drive on the wrong side of the road while filming triathletes on public roads

Way to go!!! And yes looks both of you kept stress away, and its like I have never heard you laugh, like really laugh, and thanks for bleeping out the word, I dont even know what it was, and dont want to, just would bring down my day:) and so glad not to see the money play a role, money is great, but it's not as valuable as say time, so having a enlighten time, better, that money is only powerful when you know what to dream for, other wise, who needs it, lol now I do know a way Eric can maybe get 3,333 back, I mean its one third, lol but he only has to race me, and he has time to think, as I would want to do it around, santa cruz 70.3 time:) however it will be the opposite of sprint, lol thinking over and back, high way 9??? Ocean swim, along the cliffs, west clif drive, then we run the 70.3 course twice, and then I do believe this race will be like mavericks, surf spot, like get very popular, why, because flat bike riding, the kind in triathlon, is like super boring, lol, who pick flat bike riding, lol it was designed to see what displine was superior, however its like when they picked biking, they forgot hill climb, so we fix that, lastly yes the visualization is huge!!! However if having trouble, you just start over, and make it up, get it??? Its all about having your mind race, before the race, like I beat eric everytime I visualize us race, lol its close, only because I want to talk with him, while we ride, lol, but then when the run comes, I seem to run like the wind, jk:) not really, but dont take it personally:) all in all,,great job team!

Did I hear Eric say a wetsuit can get you 10 seconds per 100?! I have a swimming background but have never worn a wetsuit. I will be doing my first wetsuit swim in May. Please tell me it’s 10 seconds faster per 100!?!?!

This race concept is a bit silly. Why not broaden the reach and make it a mixed relay, rather than a “couples race”.
