Your programme provides a lovely insight from athlete's perpective. I am so glad that you felt at home in Jamaica and you were able to feel the real vibes of our country. This is such a beautiful thing to see. I remember watching the rivalry between the Americans and the Jamaicans on the tracks throughout the years and never thought I'd witness a conversation like this. As a fellow islander, I was rooting for Jamaica of course...still rooting for them lol. I enjoy the podcast so much. Keep up the great work!
I enjoyed this episode. A great rivalry without bitterness. It revealed the other side that these athletes put their body on the line to succeed. They make no excuses for failures or successes. In sum, they all want better treatment for athletes that make the finals of a competition irrespective of who wins.
I really enjoyed this episode. The camaraderie and interaction between everyone was excellent. I like this format and would love to see more episodes like this. Please include more guest interviews with other athletes. Hats off to Asafa and would love to have him back for more.

Major respect to Justin and this podcast, especially having Mr. Powell on! Back then the both of them were running in the trials and Olympics, definitely made relays watchable before the swimming 4x1 took over. Back then, the intense rivalry between Jamaica and US made myself and others join the our High School track team! Now the rest of the World has caught up to US and Jamaica on the track. To answer the question about an exhibition meet, YES!!! I honestly would like to see that, a farewell tour with them both. Include some iconic Women such as Allyson Felix and Sonya Richard-Ross. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a friendly competition, US vs Jamaica. See if Yohan Blake or Marion Jones would like to participate. I honestly would like to see that in person or on tv!
i must say i have a lot of respect for you mr gatlin but as asafa says you race one jamaican you are racing the entire Jamaica thats just how passionate we are , thank you for being you, you guys make track&field special for us.WE READY FI THE FINAL RACE PLEASE😂
I had 3 suggestions for what I think would make Track & Field more exciting! 1) Imagine if there were like an UFC Embedded series or the old HBO Boxing All Access series but for Track & Field. The organizations can put a 2 man film crew out to follow the premier athletes say 5 weeks leading up to the meet! Then the fans and new fans have more opportunities to see how the Runners really are (or who the runners want you to see) and we can see the preparation leading up to these events! 2) What if there were a pre-race live feed where the runners are mic’d up, something similar to how the NBA and NFL does it. This way we get to see the runners in the warmup/practice track area getting ready right before they run. The interactions between the athletes in the warm up areas will add more excited to see and hear the dynamic between the athletes and coaches just before the race. 3) Why does the runners have to run only once? In some of these meets and specialized invite only sort of races it would be cool to see a best of 3 race format. It’s hard for track and field to be as exciting as other sports like boxing or basketball when for the sprints it literally secs lol and fights are 35 mins. With a best of three format we get to really see who was fastest on the day because you gotta win twice. The 10 min or so rest time the runners have between the 3 races could be more mic’d up insider convo/instruction between the athletes and theirs coaches so the fans can hear and see the race adjustments to be made. This brings more appreciation and knowledge to the fans because they get to hear exactly how runners make micro adjustments to perform better. Same thing as done with boxing, basketball, or any other major sport. Fighter goes back to the corner for instruction, players go back to the sideline. Or the event organizers can just play more b-roll of the embedded style lead up.
Racing like fighting. It's deep rooted in our instincts as human - pure entertainment. Put on the race between y'all two and enough folks will want to tune in!
I initially thought this channel was going to be US-centric and biased but I'm so happy I gave it a chance.
