I can't imagine if Justin really go and do the ancestry test and found out his great, great grandfather is Jamaican. How he would feel...🤭🤭 Big up yourself Justin, a lot of us really thought you were a meany because of the media. We Finally get to see the real Justin Gatlin. Btw justin really has a sense of humor. I love that.
That was absolutely awesome guys. I want to personally apologize to Justin for hating on him for years because of the false narrative that the media have portrayed about him throughout his career. It's a life lesson to us all about judging a person by what others influences us to believe rather than our own experiences. So thank you to the Powells for officially introducing us to the real Justin Gatling
I watch both asafa and Justin compete against each other throughout the years and I never thought a day that I would see them sit down and have a conversation in this manner. It's definitely great to see and I salute both of you
This interview with Justin Gatlin was hilarious! It's incredible how two track stars who have competed for so many years never spoke and are now like the best of friends. God knows best. Loving the camaraderie-you guys are amazing. We need more athletes like you in the world! Much respect to both Justin and Asafa. ❤️❤️🇯🇲🇺🇸🙏🏽
Powells, you are doing so much for the culture with this one, at least for us - Jamaicans, we get to hear Gatlin. Conversation is flowing at its usual, effortless speed. Thank you Alyshia and Asafa for building this platform.
I know right. I loved watching this & seeing the real side of the athletes. We never really get to see this side of them, who they are as a person. Also, I agree with Asafa’s wife, watching this, you would’ve thought Powell & Gatlin have been friends for years by how well they get on, it’s crazy how this is their first real conversation
Asafa and Alesha thank you so much for allowing me to get to know Justin. He is such down to earth genuinely awesome person. On the track competing next Jamaican, I don't even want to see him nor hear his name. Now I felt so bad. Please forgive me for carrying that grudge for so many years. I wish you all had this conversation many years ago but nothing happens before the time. I love the vibe and the respect you both have for each other. Make sure you all go on vacation together. Thanks again Mr. & Mrs Powell for this interview. I get to sit down and listen to Justin for the first time. I really enjoy this conversation. Please stay in touch both of you. I wish all athletes will take away something from this interview with Justin and Asafa. We'll done guys!
“Don’t let the moment be bigger than you.” That’s a word Justin!! So good to see Justin from a different perspective. When you’re competing against a Jamaican, you’re PUBLIC ENERGY #1. We believe the hype!!
Absolutely love seeing Justin Gatlin. There was a rivalry between our athletes and the Americans, and Justin was always in the mix. I respect both Justin and Asafa, and I thank them for the good times and wish them well.
Asafa and Justin under one roof!!!!! I ran, in college and had Jamaican teammates we were close and always talked about you two. I made it to a small contract and while I competed I studied you both... AS THE TRACK-N-FEILD WORLD we NEEDED to see this. Thank You Both, Made Respect continue to BE GREAT ON PURPOSE!
I can relate to the whole story of when both Asafa and Justin started their fierce rivalry. It was very, very intense throughout those years. Now i can sit back and laugh, smile and nod my head in admiration for both Asafa and Justin. Wonderful episode guys and gal, well done.
My whole perspective of Justin changed after tge world championship when he bowed before Bolt and then i listened to the post interview with him. He is a very decent guy and the media tried to paint him differently. Much respect to the Powells for this interview.
@@shevyweston5088 naw never bow to the competition; Bolt knows he’s a all time great without that gesture and I never seen him asafa blake Shelly or no one else bow to their comp,, it’s unnecessary. It’s track u ain’t gotta be overly humble
@@ledunkman It was Bolt's last championship and Gatlin finally beat him at one. It was just a gesture to show extra respect before Bolt retired. Not saying I would do that but I get why he did it. Basically recognizing Bolt as the king of track even though Gatlin was the victor at that moment.
Asafa Powell has always been my favorite runner of all time and then Donovan Bailey. Even when he lost I’d still watch back the races with hopes of him winning. MOST CONSISTENT sprinter of all time 🙌🏼🙌🏼
This is so refreshing. The fact that Asafa and Justin are able to sit and converse, reminisce so comfortably is awesome. Two of the best to ever hit the tracks.
This was a really great interview getting to know Justin on a whole different level away from the Track. The rivalry between Jamaica and the US was at times palpable. Justin, we Jamaicans salute u for ur accomplishments and send u "One Love "❤
I love this conversation guys. After Gatlin mentioned that he is recognized more readily in Jamaica than in his own country this 98-year-old next to me exclaimed "Is Gatlin that?" 😄 She's a fan of his but have nuff, nuff love for Asafa. .
I love this sit down with Justin. When many Jamaicans use to hate on him I actually liked him because of his talent and the competitiveness he brought to the sport.
100% for sure. Certain athletes should be invited to the Olympics. Track & Field doesn't have All Star Games, and athletes need to be spotlighted and interviewed.
I thought thar many passed athletes were recognized at the opening ceremony at some of the Olympics. Maybe you all should advocate for it to be a regular thing to recognize pass greats at all olympic.
