I feel like Usain Bolt is not getting as much recognition as other world class athleets in other sports. Athleets like Federer, Messi, Ronaldo, Hamilton, Jordan etc... He should be definitely up there with those guys if not even higher as he is clearly the BEST in 100/200m.

Football and basketball have a wider audience. The NBA holds a national championship every year, and basketball is played most months of the year. The same goes for football. Track and field, on the other hand, has a shorter season and major events like the World Championships occur every two years, while the Olympics are held every four years.

I guess it depends on what kind of sports you like and you take your best ever from that. Football, Tennis and Track & Field are mine. Usain Bolt is No1 for me, it was absolutely amazing to watch his journey from his junior days to multiple golds and world records as a senior. Lyles can talk all he wants and star in his own show but he needs those double golds and world records to be considered anywhere near where Usain is. Until then he is just another pretender with an extremely big mouth!

Oh no don't be mistaken. In other parts of the World Usain Bolt is still very very big. In places like America in recent years I have noticed them trying to downplay his achievements. However the man's legacy is just too big to be buried. Too much personality, charisma and physical capabilities of course. It's going to take sometime to see the likes of Bolt on the track again.🤩🤩🤩

Bolt saying he missed two months of training in '09 is fucking terrifying. I thought "His memory is probably a but wonky since it's been 15 years since".
Then he makes the comparison of the Beijing and Berlin relay legs and you know he's telling the truth. Man if Bolt didn't get injured in 2009, no one and I mean NO ONE would even be considering challenging Bolt's WR

31:00 based on the 10m splits from that race in Beijing, it is reasonable to estimate that his time would have been 9.62 at best. Now he did have a more favorable wind in Berlin, so the two runs are actually almost equivalent in their quality.

I disagree with the idea that he would have beaten 9.58 in 2008 though. Even with the showboating, I don't think he lost 0.11 seconds worth of speed.
Running full speed in the 200m for 19.30 (compared to being in 19.19 form, despite feeling tired in 2009) also kinda supports this idea.
The closest anyone has been to 9.58 (other than Bolt's own 9.63 in 2012) is 9.69, which we saw 3 times in history (Bolt, Gay, Blake).
