My dad just gave me this as it was his old PC and it's actually crazy but I'm not used to the steel series lighting but it has counter strike settings that light up when you get headshots this was ahead of it's time not to consider it's got the best gpu ever (in my opinion) the GTX 1080
This was probably one of the best reviews I've seen concerning a gaming laptop. You hit every category and question I had with the exception of talking about MSI's customer service and warranty support. The laptop could be amazing but if the company is trash then it makes it worthless in my mind. This laptop offers everything I've been looking for in a gaming laptop. If anyone could reply with their opinion on MSI's customer service and warranty, I would greatly appreciate that.
Great looking device, still love my dominator laptop from 2 years ago :) And yes, I know it feels like its about to lift off when you press that button haha, good to see they haven't changed that yet.
Great review Jared. I believe the dedicated/Integrated GPU toggle allows you to run the laptop display on integrated graphics while powering 3 additional external displayed on the 1080 via MSI Multi Surround. Without using the integrated GPU, the 1080 can only push two externals and the laptops display simultaneously.
Hey man! Absolutely awesome review. I also have a GT75VR, however I noticed that the backspace key is somewhat wobbly when you dont press it dead center, is that normal? Can you check or did you already send it back? Thanks!
Bartfresse hey man thinking about getting 75 too, quick question when you turn the graphics to 1440p what htz does it let you choose I was thinking about getting a 4k possibly but want to see what options appear for the 1080 p, and then see what the 4k options are htz wise
LOVE mine. 7700HQ, GTX 1080, 4k 60Hz Gsync, 960 Evo 1TB boot, 2TB 850 Evo storage, 32GB 2400Mhz RAM. Modified, obviously. I HAD two GT73VR with 4k G-Sync 60Hz display, GTX 1070, i7 6820HK. HAD. Both GT73VR units graphics card failures within 10 days from delivery, ie dead displays and dead hdmi outputs. I film and edit RAW 1080P and 4k footage with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects. HK processor was awesome, i had stable overclock all 4 cores at 4.1Ghz, did not OC the GTX 1070 on either. BEFORE they died, they were amazing. I had the model with 1TB HDD only and 16GB RAM. I installed a 1TB 960 Evo m2 and added 16GB RAM. Mobile 4k workhorse. Then it died. Replacement died same way; graphics card noped out. I was pissed. I now have a GT75VR, 2 months in and all is well. Locked 7700HQ processor (miss being able to overclock as it saves time rendering plus its fun), same 4k 60Hz display, but now with a GTX 1080 and per-key rgb. Added in the same 2x8GB 2400Mhz RAM from old GT73VR's for a total of 32GB RAM, gave away the 1TB spinner for the 1TB m2 960 Evo, and added an 850 Evo 2TB for storage. Factory 256GB ssd is boot drive. My i9 7940x work machine is all SSD as well. Work machine cost 3x more but only about 2.2x rendering/export speed vs GT75VR. ZERO issues. Keyboard is WAAAAAAAY better, feels great, and i can individually light up keys and set macros which is AWESOME for editing, just like my work machine. CPU doesnt overclock and kinda sucks compared to 6820HK, but its an on-site 4k beast to review footage 1:1 and media container with a GTX 1080 and an incredible display. I dont game on it much at home, maybe 2-3 times a month. While it pales in comparison to my core i9 7940x 14 core at 3.8Ghz, with GTX 1080 Ti with 128GB 3200Mhz RAM, m2 960 Pro 1TB boot drive, with an 8x1TB RAID6 SSD array on an Areca 1880-ix, with a 1440P main monitor and Samsung HDR 4k TV, the GT75VR is INCREDIBLE for work or even gaming for what it is. It kicks ass for gaming at hotels or on-site when bored as hell, assuming you have mains power.
Hey Jared another great review with your ™ most appreciated humour as a big part of it! Great machine indeed but for that price / weight/dimensions and battery life, better get a desktop with the same specs and for sure cheaper!!! I'd still get one if could afford! 😜 Keep it up my friend.
Cheers, Nuno! Ya, I mean I think for most people, for the reasons you listed, ya a desktop would be better, but I know plenty of people who would really benefit from something like this! It's not for everyone, but every product has it's market.
Another Great Video Jared. Not excited about the product though, just here to view your perspective/commentary and hummus cake humor! You are absolutely entertaining! KUDOS!
I feel like theres allot of cool things that could happen with laptops that can't because there's too many people what would bitch because its not a piece of paper.
PUBG runs like garbage for me on this laptop. It dips down to 24 fps just viewing your inventory and stays below 60 fps a LOT. Something is definitely not right. All other games run great though.
Year old laptop, don't care. Adding this bit of info for others that got incredibly annoyed by this. So I'm playing destiny 2 and I have teamspeak running in the background for voice comms. I have left control bound to sprint and I have a Corsair Scimitar with the 3 button (numpad 3) bound to teamspeak PTT. Every time I had ctrl depressed and tried to talk in teamspeak I was greeted with an incredibly loud GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE sound like some idiot youtuber screaming in my ears at the end of a counterstrike match. I did some research and found out that the culprit was the Nahimic program for the sound card, audio driver and amp in this laptop. For some absolutely idiotic reason someone thought this was a good idea to have enabled by default. So if you're like me and have run into random audio clips spamming your keybinds for no apparent reason then open Nahimic, go to HD Audio Recorder, click the blue right arrow button thing, and then click the power button icon to disable this annoying piece of trash "feature". I hope this solves one of your headaches. It did for me. Thank God.
45min of battery life hmmm, I guess in the instruction it says 'use on battery only in case of emergency'
hahaha, exactly!
Right
the Lamborghini of laptops literally 😍
😍
“Fire up Battlefield 1”
Immediately dies.
Hahahaha
remember when 4 cores are still a thing on high ends...
about to buy one and swear i checked all reviews of it and found out yours was the best!! keep on good work!!
Agreed. Style and substance!

it worth the price to get this over the gt73vr titan pro with the same processor, video card, display?

LOL, my wife was like "are you done reviewing that laptop yet? I can hear it from upstairs while watching TV"

Saves a ton on battery as well! 4 hours of webbrowse / RUclips isn't a bad thing outta a gaming laptop!
I'm watching this review on this exact laptop.👍
Very good review. Please review the new Asus G703 VI including the fan noise under load and at idle. Thank you.
Such a naughty boy! 🤣 Great review. I'd love a beast of a machine like that.

Hi, would you pay the extra premium for this over the GT73VR when internal specs are similar?
How many slots are there for memory? What's the best memory you would recommend for the MSI GT75VR Titan Pro?
"Late night antics." Laughed so loud, scared the tourists in Starbucks.
May I know where did you get this laptop?
is your version the UHD 4K version or the full hd?

The keyboard light software is VERY confusing.
"Late night quiet time antics" 🤣🤣👏😭😂
Why would someone switch to UMA graphics? Well... when you want to double the battery life on the go, that's what you'd have to do...
Which is better this one or asus rog g703vi

p.s.: I've a Msi ge62 6qd apache pro :)
Another Great Video Jared.
