Anytime you have a heart attack, it's not a little thing. I really hope you are feeling better and don't have any other problems from this. I hope you are taking good care of yourself, we all hope to see a lot more of these great vids and everyone really appreciates what you do so take care.
If money wasn't a problem, because the touchpad won't be used and I think the stability problems can be fixed with some updates. But you are right, for less than that you can get better is some points. Great review as always my friend.
I have this exact model without the 4k screen, and have had no freezing or shutting down problems at all. I even have the CPU overclocked to 4.0ghz and the gfx card overclocked a tad and have had no problem whatsoever.
Yep, I totally agree, the mouse pad sucks! I keep it turned off and use a mouse. Also the worse design ever is the power plug! Always bends, breaks off and an extremely short 4' of cord from the back to the giant power converter box. They seriously need to extend the cord and a wire lock on the back side to help keep the cord plugged in the back to keep from having to keep re plugging it in over and over daily usually resulting in bent pins. In the last 2 years of owning it I've had to buy 4 new power converters just because once the pins are bent, it's a wrap! Beyond those two complaints, I love this Beast!
Im pretty sure the display is 60hz at 4k and there is a completely different model that has the 120hz 1080p display which inactuslly own. Am I incorrect about this?
its really 4k and 120hz ? because i see in internet the msi screen option is 1080p ips panel 60hz, or 1080p tn panel 120hz/5ms, or 4k ips panel 60hz But if now msi gift new screen 120hz and 4k too, its really incridible
Can the MSI GT73EVR 7RF Titan Pro CPU upgraded from it's Intel Core i7 7th Gen to a newer CPU like the Intel i9 (will the mother board accept and and handle it)? I've already upgraded it to the max 64gb 2400mhz HyperX ram chipsets and a total of 8TB SATA so it was my next pit stop on a possible upgrade 😍
I am glad you are feeling better. Take it easy. The review was awesome and honest. Plus plus plus for you pointing out clearly what you didnt like. But that's why i am following you. Keep up that good work, but health first.
Is this the most powerful laptop that I can get now for around $2000? or are there better choices for the same price point? is the new Kaby lake processor better than the i7-6820? I wish I can find a similar more portable laptop
when he says at 5:24 that it ships with a full gtx 1080 not the mobile one that sounds a bit off as the mobile gtx 1080 and desktop have the same specs?
Yh they do, the only difference is the desktop one has a slightly higher base frequency. Thanks for the reply though it shows good engagement with the subscribers
timbabs1 how do I know which one I'm buying? Before there used to be an m for mobile like 980m but now there isn't anymore. So how do I know I'm buying the one with desktop card and not mobile?
timbabs1 does not answer my question. There are models with mobile gtx 1080 with reduced clock speed and the newer models with desktop gtx 1080. How do I know which one is which.
We will keep you in our prayers. Stay strong, we appreciate the effort you make on this channel, your health comes first. Take care of your self and stay positive
Shouldn't you have said that the laptop is available with EITHER a 1080p 120hz screen or 4k screen? There are barely any 4k external monitors available with over 60hz refresh rate. I guarantee you there is not one in a laptop. Also, it you are reviewing this laptop in Nov of 2017 why are you reviewing an older model? The new ones come with Kaby Lake i7 7820HK. The one you have is Skylake.
I'm surprised that the cpu in that machine does not perfrom a bit better given the uber cooling and its age compared to what I am using. The 3.4Ghz i7-4770HQ in my base model Macbook pro, with its comparably terrible cooling, will do 650 in Cinebench and a 3868 in geekbench at stock and 710 and 4100 if I clock it at 3.6Ghz. It seems that the 6820HK should go a bit better than that Are the stock power settings in that machine hampering performance? edit: I typed this before the end. I suspect that the CPU us suffering from some vdroop as MSI have set the bios default voltages low to keep temps in check. could also be the reason that the cpu benchmarks are a little below what I would have expected. If you install Intel XTU on it, It will allow you to overclock the CPU and/or adjust voltage offsets. You may find that a +0.02v voltage offset for the core voltage solves the lockup problem
Nice Video. But I think you got a faulty laptop. Your GPU temps are way too high for this machine. Maybe due to bad pasting or something. Maybe this is the reason it shuts down under load.
Hi. Is there a way to have a copy of the recovery disc of that machine? Because mine messed up when I tried to restore to msi factory settings. Help is really appreciated. Thanks
Hey homie! Did you remove all msi bloatware before testing? Gamer nexus proved there is as much as 25% negative game performance impact keeping it all installed.
I own this computer and the touch pad is also slightly more to the left. you will end up accidentally touching the pad with the palm of your left hand. I don't know why they did this to a expensive gaming laptop.
I hope you get well soon man, just don't die, whose gonna bring us more cool tech if you die! Lol No really get well soon buddy and keep up the good work!
3500$ FOR A LAPTOP?!!! no thanks, I will build a God's like PC for that same price, but I get what you're trying to say. I love your content a lot, glad you're in good health
I was considering buying a MSI laptop (GT73VR Titan Pro-872) but after hearing the new MSI models will probably come out in January I decided to wait and see what they will have in them. Hopefully a 7700k and GTX 1080 combo.
But my eyes dont hurt when i game i dont have a fancy 120hz monitor its 1920x1200 60hz got it for 20€ and it has been working great for 4 years now and i think its time to upgrade to 1920x1080 144hz
Speaking of speakers, I have an MSI Gt62VR with Dynaudio speakers and they sound like shit and they dont get loud at all. Not very fitting with the i7 6700HQ and the GTX 1070...
MrEvol94 yes but this is for future proofing as well if you were to buy this now you could keep your ultra 1080p experience for 2-3 more years from now
Tom Stacey No. Because if you max everything and use the laptop often it ain't going to last that many years unless you're lucky. Thermal throttling, bad cooling etc. Laptops are not ideal to max games on.
strin6w1z4rd It’s the drivers more than the hardware. I have a GT73VR and I used a Synaptics driver from Lenovo that uses Windows Precision drivers and it made a world of difference.
but then it should come out of the box running smoothly right? rather than finding a solution wherein people who are not too literate with this can have problems
Elric I love you big bro so you need to calm the fuck down and take care of yourself as much as you can, trust me life is shit for everyone so be cool.
64gb of RAM, that's mental. I'd rather have 16gb and a 1440p display and pay less to be honest, you wouldn't see much difference in resolution on this sized screen anyways. Also with the name Titan I thought it was because of it having a Titan graphics card.
Tech of Tomorrow It is 4k, and yes that's awesome! but I just feel that it's overkill resolution wise for the size of the display in my opinion. I'm still happy with my 1080p 27" monitor :)
I had to take a break due to health issues, but we are back, thanks for waiting. Cheers - Elric
Tech of Tomorrow good to see you’re back in the saddle Elric! Cheers!
Tech of Tomorrow take it easy. Health is no1 in priorities 🎧
Tech of Tomorrow good to see you again and hope you recover fully
Health comes first, we'll live

did he say a brief heart attack like it was no bigger than stubbing your toe?
I have been through so much in the last 5 years and its been very hard to work.
That's what I said! You just gonna brush past that like its nothing?
That's not the focus of the video.
Literally did a double take when he said it so casually too.
Glad you're back and you got a good rest.
I had a slight heart attack but I'm good. -A badass
Legend~
glad you're okay

Same... 75hz on a gtx 1080.
I just kept my cpu on 3.5ghz :)had it over 2yrs and 0 issues ever.
I game 4-8hrs a day too lol
Glad you're back Elric! Hope your health is 100% now. Cheers from Brazil
...because let's just face it guys: This channel rocks!! 🤘

Hard Attack? oooh that sounds not good. I hope you get better. I wish you all the best. Keep Rockin Buddy!
Glad to have you back! Thanks for your honest review as well; it's nice to hear a reviewer say the brutal truth about their experience with a product.
Glad that you recovered at least enough to make this video. Very nice review. I hope you feel better soon.

did you find answer ?
@@wailafendi4254 Not on the CPU so I left it alone but everything else got tweaked nicely with high speed 8TB "internal SATA" and RAM maxed out.
Glad to see you feeling better.
I am glad you are feeling better. Take it easy. The review was awesome and honest. Plus plus plus for you pointing out clearly what you didnt like. But that's why i am following you. Keep up that good work, but health first.
we love you Elric and hope you get better!!! DOCTOR PLEASE TAKE CARE OF HIM AND HOOK HIM UP
LOL "slight heart attack" Good to see you back ! Wish you good health and looking forward for more amazing videos !
I am a Big MSI Fan. They offer Top Products like my new AM4 Board and MSI Graphics Card's
One of the best reviews about this monster

timbabs1 how do I know which one I'm buying? Before there used to be an m for mobile like 980m but now there isn't anymore. So how do I know I'm buying the one with desktop card and not mobile?
Thats because the laptops have the same specs as their desktop counterparts. Thats what makes this generation of laptops so good
timbabs1 does not answer my question. There are models with mobile gtx 1080 with reduced clock speed and the newer models with desktop gtx 1080. How do I know which one is which.
I didn't watch it for the laptop, I watched it cause of Elric
Yep
Guillermo Martinez who’s elric?

Thank u, was planning on buying this but not no more if it's that unstable. Thanks!
Hey Eric great to see you doing what you love bro, stay strong and well💯
Thank you Calvin
Hope all is well Dude! Keep it metal!
Hey Elric, glad you are okay! Btw I really liked the video format and benchmark presentation. Very nice. You rock! 😍
Nice Video. But I think you got a faulty laptop. Your GPU temps are way too high for this machine. Maybe due to bad pasting or something. Maybe this is the reason it shuts down under load.
What do you do with all the stuff you receive for testing? Do you have to send it back? Do you sell it? Giving it away? How does it work?
"Had a slight heart attack needed a few days off ". Lol you're crazy man, take all the time you need. Your fans will understand.
My favorite RUclips channel dont know why so few views on videos greetings from mexico and take care men 👍🏻
Dynaudio is awesome , but is it available with a 4x12 inch stack with black widows?! Lol
Not yet
What a laptop.
Would you be doing a news video on the Intel and AMD partnership?
Hope you can get better in health.
Hi. Is there a way to have a copy of the recovery disc of that machine? Because mine messed up when I tried to restore to msi factory settings. Help is really appreciated. Thanks
" a slight heart attack " - Damn. Hope you are feeling better, thanks for the videos.
Awesome review Elric that laptop is better than my pc :( Hope your health improve my man take it easy see you in the next video man peace.
what's the difference between this one and GT75VR TITAN PRO?
Can I hook this up to my 4k TV via HDMI and game at low 4K settings?....what kind of performance and FPS would I be looking at?
Seriously *Titan Pro 4K Gaming* they missed out putting tempered glas, rgb and VR in the name 🙈
God bless you brother. Health before everything. Thanks for the videos.
Hey homie! Did you remove all msi bloatware before testing? Gamer nexus proved there is as much as 25% negative game performance impact keeping it all installed.
Yep
Red and Black are the Doritos and Mountain Dew of PC gaming colors, a dead meme that won't ever die!
Good review
which is the SSD used on this system ? is the Samsung SM951 ?
Great video, Elric, although i think the tablet would be discontinued by the time i could afford it.
What is a good comparable gaming laptop that you do recommend?
I own this computer and the touch pad is also slightly more to the left. you will end up accidentally touching the pad with the palm of your left hand. I don't know why they did this to a expensive gaming laptop.
take care of yourself! get well soon!
I hope you get well soon man, just don't die, whose gonna bring us more cool tech if you die! Lol
No really get well soon buddy and keep up the good work!
Hope you will Felling well. By the way, nice shirt .
dude, a slight heart-attack is kind of serious, really nice to know you are doing well now... cheers!
Hey good luck!
that stupid dual speakers setup at the bottom instead of the top as my gt72s even makes the sound louder but so muffed
Take care of your health man.....its more important than keeping us entertained!! :D
But my eyes dont hurt when i game i dont have a fancy 120hz monitor its 1920x1200 60hz got it for 20€ and it has been working great for 4 years now and i think its time to upgrade to 1920x1080 144hz
I'd go for a 2560x1440 144Hz monitor if you can.
THERAZORKILLE i highly doubt that i have the horse power it needs. I have a gtx 960 4gb
Could you stream with this Laptop?
I had a bad case of the aids once. Cleared right up with some benadryl.
this guy handles a heart attack like a bruise he has balls of steel man
No oxygen was cut off to my brain so no real damage was done to my heart or mind.
does it have G sync?
Speaking of speakers, I have an MSI Gt62VR with Dynaudio speakers and they sound like shit and they dont get loud at all. Not very fitting with the i7 6700HQ and the GTX 1070...
"had a slight heart attack" well i am glad you're ok. take care of yourself man!!
but still i haven't seen any better laptop than this...Like i've seen some double the price that are only 50% faster than this
did he say 120hz 4k O.o
Are you ok now?
Bro how are you going to slide in your had a heart attack. Kick back man
i5, GTX1060 is the sweetspot for laptops imo. Can run everything in 1080p 60fps and only around 1000$.
MrEvol94 yes but this is for future proofing as well if you were to buy this now you could keep your ultra 1080p experience for 2-3 more years from now
Tom Stacey
There is no such thing as future proof. Especially not Laptops.
MrEvol94 this will last you 2-3 years at 1080p ultra I don't know why you disagree... a 1060 won't last as long..
Tom Stacey
No. Because if you max everything and use the laptop often it ain't going to last that many years unless you're lucky. Thermal throttling, bad cooling etc. Laptops are not ideal to max games on.
msi kicks ass
for a $4000 worth laptop, that trackpad should be top notch! it's a big deal-breaker eventhough you can use a separate mouse
strin6w1z4rd It’s the drivers more than the hardware. I have a GT73VR and I used a Synaptics driver from Lenovo that uses Windows Precision drivers and it made a world of difference.
but then it should come out of the box running smoothly right? rather than finding a solution wherein people who are not too literate with this can have problems
wait 4k at 120hz?really?
yes bro in today's tech it is possible 4k at 120hz and 5ms responce time
Yeah Corsair have great merchandise.
I'd rather get a Razer Blade (not pro or stealth) or equivalent cheaper laptop and use the extra money on a desktop
Thats misleading Titan Pro in title but only a 1080! wtf trading standards out the window.
Miganarchine titan pro is the model name
In 2023 who still using this beast like me ?
I am! It is still running like beast! 😊
What a beast. Too bad I can't afford that monster.
Elric I love you big bro so you need to calm the fuck down and take care of yourself as much as you can, trust me life is shit for everyone so be cool.
Should I get this laptop now? Or is it outdated?
it can upgrade to the latest windows and it's mad cheap now, sounds dope
not all applications run on 4k
Stay Healthy buddy.
Oh my god, did you say that you had a heart attack? Are you ok? Jesus!
But can it play pong?
Wait what? 4k 120hz?
64gb of RAM, that's mental. I'd rather have 16gb and a 1440p display and pay less to be honest, you wouldn't see much difference in resolution on this sized screen anyways. Also with the name Titan I thought it was because of it having a Titan graphics card.

Tech of Tomorrow It is 4k, and yes that's awesome! but I just feel that it's overkill resolution wise for the size of the display in my opinion. I'm still happy with my 1080p 27" monitor :)
Very heavy cost
