Watching it on my GT73VR :) bought it 2 years ago 6th gen GTX 1070 still going strong, can play any game on MAX, temps NEVER go over 75C, amazing machine
thank you a million times, ive had this pc for 3 years because i did my research back then, however- i didnt know about the display settings. Designer looks soooo much better. You saved my eyes. Thank you.
I love this channel because you can tell that she really cares and is completely honest. She is one of the people in this world that could never do any harm to anyone.. and.. that's awesome!
I picked one of these up recently for $400 with the i7 7700HQ and GTX 1080, great laptop, ive been using it for work and games. Im a Mac guy but wanted at least one good PC laptop and this fit the bill just right
Please review the Gigabyte Aero 15 along with a head to head with the XPS 15 9560. The Gigabyte seems to be a very compelling competitor with very few reviews online.
i have 1 now after much saving and am showin it off to the world ... nice review 11.10 i want an alienware 51 next its my lifes ambition and well worth it to the games on the msi titan pro play like butter well reco
I have one, and Let me tell you... it's AMAZING! i7-7820hk, 32gb ddr4 ram, gtx 1080 and the 1080p 120hz 5ms refresh rate. 4K isn't worth it yet, not even on this thing. Hell, compared to my lenovo z580 with it's IPS display this one is just about the same. But it does make some noise when you're playing. But with headphones it's quiet, at a reasonable sound level. I do overclock it (K model) so that way in games that are CPU throttled, I can increase my fps.
Hi Lisa! Not really sure where to put this but can you do a 5 minutes on tech regarding the new 8th Gen Intel Kaby Lake-R processors? Thank you and keep making these amazing videos! :)
How does it go with battlegrounds? I need a 15 inch gaming laptop! Almost went for the Alienware 15 but I've had a few in the past and all have had issues overheating or dying after a year! This looks great I want a 1070 with a 120 Hz screen! The Alienware 120 Hz screen is awful!
Xiaomi has refreshed their 12.5in notebook with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD making this a great device. CPU is also upgraded. Please can you review this unit? Thanks LaptopMama
3 years later with this product loocking for upgrades, So is it now possible to upgrade my GPU? got a single GTX 1070 and i wanted to upgrade the ram, M2 ssd and change the thermal paste in it too and i thought to myself if i could change my Core i7-7700HQ for a i7-7820HK CPU and also the GTX 1070 for a GTX 1080 or a GTX 1070 SLI. any thoughts?
all these reviews that we already know, but i can' t find anyone putting the noise level and temp in. power cord length? noise at rest and game mode? temp at rest and game mode?
Really? "I’ve heard that the screen is a low-responce one" isn't a complaint or a short coming? Where - in ANY review - have you seen or "heard" reference to a complaint regarding the display? I haven't, in ANY of the multiple reviews I have read. Thus the onus is on YOU to provide substance for your claim which NONE of the myriad reviews cite.
On every laptop review please do a extensive battery test. For example playing fhd video in loop, browsing and playing youtube. Switching to low power mode or eco mode. For all laptop including msi, gsync off test and gsync on test for msi gt73vr because it has option for integerated graphics switch. And also for gaming laptop include extensive gameplay but dont record inside the laptop using inbuilt recorder, record the display outside using your camera. If you think gameplay will extend the video length then post the gameplay in seperate video and include the link. These were the points missing in your review, and also for gaming laptop, play it in room temperature above 30 degree Celsius and include the room temperature on all gaming laptop review, i bought msi gt73vr after seeing your video. My room temp without AC is between 28 to 38. My cpu temp is always at high 80 and it does thermal throttling. But battery which you didn't cover extensively is phenomenal. 5 hours+ with integerated graphics. Battery is really a pleasant surprise for me but multi tasking not so much.
Lisa i have a serious question for you.... So I am in the market for a gaming laptop. This will be a desktop replacement but i still want a laptop for times when i am on the go. I have been seriosuly considering the alienware 15 r3 with the hk oc cpu and gtx 1080 maxq. I am however concerned about lifespan. Do u think that combination will last me a while?? Or would i be better off splurging for a true gtx 1080 in the alienware 17 r4 or the one you reviewed here, the msi gt73vr with the gtx 1080?? How future proof would you consider the gtx 1080 maxq?? Am i better off with the alienware brand or the msi gt73?? Which brand do you prefer?? Thanks for your help and love your channel.
Dr. Zentron well for one im not a huge fan of the way the bottom opens up it seems like an easy point of failure for that little hinge to break or the flimsy bottom to break. Plus on more than 1 review i have seen issues reported of thermal throttling. Linus tech tips for one tested the zephyrus and reported loads of thermal throttling. But i do like the way it looks its a really sharp laptop for sure. Im just trying to make sure i get the most years our of this machine for the money. Thats why im considering going with a laptop that has a full gtx 1080 in it.
Hi, how can i get a recovery file for this? Because I tried to format mine and i got error and now its not working anymore. I need a recovery file please.
Hello lisa I'm currently in between two laptops that I'm interested in can you please tell me in your opinion which one would be the winner this MSI GT73VR Titan with 1080 8gb or Asus Rog GL702VI-WB74 1080gb, both currently on sale where I live for the next 3 days.
Holy shit, a TN panel with 92% aRGB? I wouldn't have expected 92% of sRGB. And it's at 120hz too! Are there comparable TN panels available anywhere else?
Tom Provido i have a gs63vr 1060 model and i can tell you that the cpu gets pretty got, 85c in gta5. Also, be carful with carrying the laptop in a backpack or a case because the thin metal around the ethernet, usb, and sd card slot port bends and breaks like what happened with my ethernet port. If you have a lot of pressure on the top of the laptop, parts of the screen will turn orange. Overall the gs63vr laptop is amazing if you are carful with it and can comfortably game. I highly recommend that you d-volt the cpu using intel extreme tuning utility (i got -.195v). 4 out of 5 for me, hope this comment helps! Leave a reply if you have more questions.
TheDuckLord22 I don't know if the new model fixes the problem that you had. They said that the new gs63vr is more cooler and quiet than the previous one. This will be my first gaming laptop if you can help me to undervolt, oced etc it will be much appreciated. Thanks for the tip and advice though :)
I certainly don't see temps that low from mine, I have the 6920HK i7 in mine, though. So Dragon centre automatically overclocks it to 4ghz. My temps while laying Wolfenstein 2 - New Colossus 78-80 CPU and around 78 GPU. Not too bad, but the fans are LOUD as FUCK. Certainly no whisper quietness, in fact they're so loud that my wife can't hear the TV over them haha!
Hey can u please tell me does model msi gt73vr titan pro 1005 come with a g sync please replyy i wanna buy that model specificaly it is available for 2150 dollars without g sync i wont buy it please do reply would really aprecaite it😀 anyone can reply pleasee
this might be a very noobish question... Would you buy a cooling fan pad with a laptop like this or is the cooling system inside enough... nevermind you answered my question at the end of the video...LOL
The Sager NP9876 GTX 1080 (with the desktop CPU) tops both (although the Sager and MSI are close!) ... ;-) Both MSI and Sager make Great luggable desktop replacements!!! ;-))) ...and a GREAT review - as always!
AW17 R4 cooling is on par with MSI GT73VR IF they're both repasted, which is pretty much mandatory anyway if you're buying these laptops for overclocking. Otherwise there's little to no point. Without repaste and out of the box temps, the MSI wins as the Alienware needs some tweaking. Otherwise, the AW wins basically every other category with better overall package, size, design, build quality, keyboard, noise, and speakers. MSI has more expendable memory, more USB ports. Another Alienware killing blow... Ability to scale up in the future with Graphics Amplifier with dedicated port. Way better than Razer's. It's a no brainer in my book which is the superior laptop. Besides, who the hell uses a 1080GTX for 1080p gaming?
What's that empty space between the hard drive/M2 bay and the speaker? Seems MSI could have moved the battery and drive slots over and put bigger speakers on both sides of the laptop.
Dean Churchman I own this model, its where the second gtx1070 card would go if you had the sli model, i guess it would cost them too much to increase/move the battery on the single gfx card models
Thank you for that Alexi. Although it would be nice to spec it out with a bigger battery or better speakers for a single card model it would also introduce manufacturing complexity. The parts seem easy enough to remove so if one were so determined then a custom job could be performed.
Can I actually change the resolution from 4k to 1080p to avoid performance issues and consider 4k simply as a option for movies for example and not gaming? I’m curious if I’ll be limited only to 4k and suffer from low performance.
I bought the msi gt73vr titan pro new last year and in one year allow me to share that I love everything about it but two things for anyone interested. 1. The battery has absolutely no hang time unplugged!!!!!! Plan on keeping it plugged in 24/7 as you aren't going to get much use out of it away from an outlet. I like to go by my pool to work but the battery pack only lasts roughly an hour. 2. The AC Plug on the back of the laptop "SUCKS"! The worst design ever! I can't say enough hate about it! In short, you have to be extremely careful and accurate pushing your power source into the back when plugging it in. Slightly off a bit will bend the pins in the female plug that can't be fixed, you have to replace the entire power pack!!!! When I first bought the machine, I returned my machine five (5) times to MSI who had to give me a brand new power pack each time. Out of my one year warranty, I've purchased two (2) new power packs and a hefty price each. What was MSI thinking when they designed this? This is not just a personal opinion, every dealer I've taken it to a shop they've said "WTF"... Further, MSI admitted by far the most returns of this machine to their center is for this reason so why in the last 2 years I believe it's been in production haven't they fixed this design? My 2 Cents to add to this review.
Watching it on my GT73VR :) bought it 2 years ago 6th gen GTX 1070 still going strong, can play any game on MAX, temps NEVER go over 75C, amazing machine

Holy crap those vents! If you game a lot you'll be warm in the winter with this bad boy.

Excellent review as always. So thorough and clear.
Please review the Gigabyte Aero 15 along with a head to head with the XPS 15 9560. The Gigabyte seems to be a very compelling competitor with very few reviews online.

Awesome review Lisa, overkill cooling is always beast.
thanks for the review , i am getting this laptop
I have one, and Let me tell you... it's AMAZING! i7-7820hk, 32gb ddr4 ram, gtx 1080 and the 1080p 120hz 5ms refresh rate. 4K isn't worth it yet, not even on this thing. Can you please do a smackdown between acer predator 17x and MSI gt73vr 7rf ?
Acer must go on turbo boost when msi be normal... look for gpu-z screenshot
but can it play minesweeper? because i've heard you have to have titan x to do that.
Can you please make a video of, how to get to the other side of the motherboard to replace an upgrade the RAM.
Lisa please check the NBR forums for how to disable battery hybrid power and disable AC power limit throttling. Some users may find it very useful.
Hi Lisa! Not really sure where to put this but can you do a 5 minutes on tech regarding the new 8th Gen Intel Kaby Lake-R processors? Thank you and keep making these amazing videos! :)
When are you going to review the ThinkPad P71?
How does it go with battlegrounds? I need a 15 inch gaming laptop! Almost went for the Alienware 15 but I've had a few in the past and all have had issues overheating or dying after a year! This looks great I want a 1070 with a 120 Hz screen! The Alienware 120 Hz screen is awful!
Hi Lisa, I hope you are doing very well. When will you review the Alienware Area-51m?
Hello Lisa please review the Huawei Matebook E

Xiaomi has refreshed their 12.5in notebook with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD making this a great device. CPU is also upgraded. Please can you review this unit? Thanks LaptopMama
Hi Lisa, when will your review of the Gs63vr Max-Q come out?

all these reviews that we already know, but i can' t find anyone putting the noise level and temp in.
power cord length? noise at rest and game mode? temp at rest and game mode?
Thought this Laptop had a Titan in it.
Hi, would you recommend this with a 1060 for photo and video editing or would that be overkill?
I got one for just that bro. 4k drone video
great vid, as always, though i am curious what panel they used for this model, thx!
Can you do a review on the gt75?

MobileTechReview hearts are more in demand 😎
I have purchased Acer Predicator 17x instead of this one because that one has 3 cooling fans
A great deal...Acer is making some very nice more affordable units.
I’ve heard that the screen is a low-responce one, would you agree with that?
What? Support your amorphous claim. It features a 17.3” IPS @ 1920x1080 (G-Sync) screen driven by a GTX 1080 GPU. What do you want?????
sdushdiu It wasn’t a complain, just a question.
Really? "I’ve heard that the screen is a low-responce one" isn't a complaint or a short coming? Where - in ANY review - have you seen or "heard" reference to a complaint regarding the display? Why not the asus zephyrus? Still has a 1080 maxq as well as a great portable design.
Dr. Zentron well for one im not a huge fan of the way the bottom opens up it seems like an easy point of failure for that little hinge to break or the flimsy bottom to break. I'd say the Alienware 13 with 1080 Max-Q should be good for several years of AAA gaming with the latest titles.
MobileTechReview thanks for the response!!! Are you going to test the alienware 15 with the 1080 max q?
Review the Gigabyte Aero 15 please!
so when is the other video for the light weight laptop?
Tomorrow!
Err, day after tomorrow- behind schedule.
Does the msi gt series gt73vr titan-427 have a 2.0 TPM? Does the msi gt series gt73vr titan-427 have UEFI?
Why do gaming laptops go straight to 4k displays?

In india MSI GT73VR Titan Pro priced at rs 335000(approx 5285 US dollar)
Holy shit, a TN panel with 92% aRGB? I wouldn't have expected 92% of sRGB. And it's at 120hz too! Are there comparable TN panels available anywhere else?
TN isn't lacking for colors/gamut and high refresh rates are the best, it's the viewing angles and contrast that are usually weaker compared to IPS.
I want the GT75 vr review
GS73Vr 7RF MAXQ.....waiting for this
Stealth pro gtx 1060 or raider gtx 1060 which one do you prefer ?
can you do a review for asus vivobook s15
Can you do a review of gs63vr gtx 1070 max q?
That's my next review.
MobileTechReview Thanks! I like the way you review very informative ;) My gs63vr gtx 1070 max q will come this monday :)
TheDuckLord22 I got my gs63vr 1070 max q. Does your ethernet broke? How? And how to use XTU utility to minimize the temp?
What is the colorimeter you downloaded?
I certainly don't see temps that low from mine, I have the 6920HK i7 in mine, though. So Dragon centre automatically overclocks it to 4ghz. My temps while laying Wolfenstein 2 - New Colossus 78-80 CPU and around 78 GPU. Not too bad, but the fans are LOUD as FUCK. Certainly no whisper quietness, in fact they're so loud that my wife can't hear the TV over them haha!
Can I Stream Games to twich and youtube using something like this?
Of course.
Are the hinges weak?
So what exactly is the difference between the gt73 and the gt75 when they both have i7 7820hk's and GTX 1080s?
elementskater1010 the chpi in 73vr is hm175 and on 73vr is cm238 73vr chipset sucks
gurjeet kour thanks for the reply man, I've decided on the gt75 with i7 7820hk gtx 1080 and 1tb hhd and SSD with 16gb of ram

this might be a very noobish question... Would you buy a cooling fan pad with a laptop like this or is the cooling system inside enough... nevermind you answered my question at the end of the video...LOL

So the battery is not amovible ?
The only good laptop speakers left on the market.

We need a 17" ultrabook.

Styler Kun gt73vr always
Guys what is the difference between msi gt73EVR and gt73VR
Man, this is the kind of stuff that makes any geek drool.
hey Lisa , confused between this and aw17 r4 ..can u suggest?
Are you folks interested in a smackdown with the Alienware 17 R4?
MobileTechReview Yes
MobileTechReview yup, please
The Sager NP9876 GTX 1080 (with the desktop CPU) tops both (although the Sager and MSI are close!) ... ;-)

It's a no brainer in my book which is the superior laptop. Besides, who the hell uses a 1080GTX for 1080p gaming?
is the msi gt73vr titan with 1070 gtx and 4k screen a good idea?
No. The GTX 1070 probably won't make it to 30 FPS on 4K. The GTX 1080 is better for the 4K and even that can't reach 60 FPS on 4K.
@@post_ironik yeah it can..
Ketjow most computers actually default to 1080, but it's not hard to change the screen resolution inside the options menu.
u will lose the 120hz display option
Is the battery amovible ? Because i dont want it to be in fullcharge everytime
link?
I bought the msi gt73vr titan pro new last year and in one year allow me to share that I love everything about it but two things for anyone interested.

Still saving for this laptop since it came out😑😒😕
Oooohhhh very nice 👍🏻

Yes every GT73vr model has gsync
xXxBo5sANaCxXx why is it not advertised?
it is lol, far as i know...
Is the cpu replaceable ?
No, that's pretty uncommon. Though it does look big enough to have that sort of design.
