Is there an easier way to replace the two preinstalled ram, by removing just the frontpanel with the keyboard? I am really scared to remove the connectors and heatsinks (never applyied thermal paste either). Thank you alot!
Thank you for the brilliant disassembly video . Could you have a chance to note the model and specs of ther rams on the backside of the board, i need to upgrade and shall look for the exact rams to have a sum of 64 gbs. Thank you.
Hey and thanks for making the video! I recently had a spill on my keyboard for this model laptop, and while the laptop is fully functional, the keyboard is fubar. I'm planning on replacing it, but I haven't found any video describing the process and I didn't see any mention about it here. I've already opened up my system to install some SSDs, and I'm about to install a wireless ax networking card, but I wanted to know how much work I had in store for that keyboard replacement.
Unfortunately it involves taking apart the entire thing. The keyboard is integrated into the palmrest, and everything else is attached to the palmrest which is the main attachment point of this model. Once you buy a palmrest assembly, you will need to move everything over to the new one.
Wait a minute? The keyboard is not replaceable? I just bought a damn new keyboard to put in this thing because some of the keys went out. Also, I bought a new power jack because this thing has never held the damn power cord since I got it. I have the 7RF.
SAME. I'M NEVER BUYING MSI LAPTOP EVER AGAIN! Seriously, did they even test their power jack before selling it ?!! my keyboard is broken too, I'm using external one. Both battery and power supplier have problems too.
@@ZiIIous Agreed, I just bought a new computer and I won't ever get an MSI laptop again. I did manage to solve it, though. I had to solder all the rivets off of the backboard. Then you have to literally sand it down. I bought a replacement keyboard. The problem is getting the keyboard to not sag after doing that. Which is why you have to really sand down the rivets. You have to superglue the hell out of it, and it's still not 100% perfect. Unfortunately, I had it working and went back in to tighten everything and somehow fried my motherboard to where I couldn't even turn the damn thing on. SO... I had to buy a new motherboard for $350 and finally got it all running again. It was just ridiculous, and it was all over like 4 keys. Albeit, very important keys for my job.
I need to replace the LCD Screen, do you think it can be doen without removing the heatsinks as you did on the video, seems the wifi antennas even though they go to the back cover of the screen they are not attach to it, so i was thinking maybe it could be done without the full disassembly, but do you think its possible?
Hi my keyboard had a spilage ages ago and some keys i have to push hard to operate. I wanted to change the keyboard but after this im worried i can't fix??
Hi I hope I get an answer to my question I hit a wall during the reassembly, I buttoned everything back in and it doesn't wanna start, but when I pass my hands on the panel of the display from the back I can feel the vibrations of the electricity yet when I push the on button doesn't work, reconnected the battery no led lights up if you can give me any informations about that..
I would go back over your power inputs... make sure the DC jack is connected, then make sure the battery is connected. I would also check the power button connection.
Hello! Do you know if it's possible to replace the screen without dismounting the bottom part? Is the connector accessible right after removing the bezel?
You can definitely fix most of the screen components without having to remove it from the chassis. Just pull off the bezel and you should be able to get the screen screws, once those are removed you can tilt the panel to disconnect the video cable. This is one of the few recent laptops that you can still do that for.
Hi really good video. I have the same titan but the 7rf model they look almost identical. I have 2x 16gb ram and was thinking of adding another 16gb ram i do allot of premier pro 4k video edit and gaming. Is that the only way to reach the ram cards on the side under the keyboard? Cause if it idk if its worth swapping the already installed ram for a 4x 16 set and selling the original ram. Ill just add the 2x16 ram and call it a day lol
Thats up to you. You definitely have to remove the motherboard to get to those bottom RAM sticks.... it might just be easier to add RAM to the open slots you see right after removing the bottom case. 32GB RAM is quite a bit and should work for your needs.
@@Sellbrokedotcom idk if u might know but i want to upgrade the hdd on the system to a ssd but 860 evo is running around 530mb speed when the T7 is at around 900mb is there a way to use the T7 as an internal instead of an external?
@@Sellbrokedotcom im waiting for the 980 to come out i think later this year. so i can upgrade the 2 sticks i use. And just use the sata as back up storage. this looks liek it will help me out. my idle temps are sitting at 70C. I needed to see how to get at the cpu to re-apply thermal paste.
Nice video. Did you manage to put it back together?
We don't usually do that since these are recycled after the video. It would be cool if RUclips would let you watch videos in reverse :)
Why did you not show how to remove that buttom part
