Now that the RTX card is out, any idea if I can upgrade the existing GTX 1080 on this laptop? Im on a dilemma if I have to sell my titan while i can take advantage of its current price but if its its upgradable I would just wait the RtX card on this laptop.
Very good review. Please review the new Asus G703 GI with the new i9 8950HK processor. Look forward to your colleague's review of the MSI competitor laptop. Thank you.
Marius Nilsen yeah that’s why I bought the alienware over this, just don’t understand why they use a FHD panel on Gtx 1080 with an i9. I’m getting 80-116 FPS on maxed out 1440p in BF1
Derek Frost yeah well I can see some difference but only in certain games. Like Witcher 3. 1440p in Witcher looks a lot sharper than 1080p and the same with BF1
Just to tell you im one of the owner of this laptop they do have 4k but without 120hz. But you can request 4k 120hz that what i do just that have to request the msi retail. Total cost me in SGD IS 7.2k :)
If you were to play Final fantasy xv windows edition on this laptop, what settings would you recommend to prevent overheating? I am hoping it would be safe to play it at least in 60 or 70 fps with some high settings.
afaik you can not overheat this laptop.. not to a degree that it will throttle because of it. you can software overclock it and its perfectly save.. you can overclock it in the bios like they did but i dont think its the way its meant to be overclocked..
I’m confused as to why this comes with dual power adapters. I have one of the previous models (GT73VR 7RF) and it comes with a single 330w power brick. Usually dual bricks means dual GPUs.
The Gaming laptop looks good and it has a good quality it is for gamer's like me i truly recommend it to those gamer's out there who is searching for a true gaming experience :)
at this price range there is literally no reason for you not to just invest your money into buying both a $2000 pc that can run you the same power as the specs of this laptop, and also a $2000 laptop that can offer you the same amount of versatility neccessary while still being to play games adequately. dont be stupid.
yeeeeee gads,, imagine in 15 years when that thing's 250$ on ebay,,, it's not overkill, obviously you can upgrade all the drives, the data capacity could be quite massive within such a "small" mobile device, you'd want lots of power to carry the heft of all that, i can't wait to get one when i'm 68!
I have the msi GT75 8RG-056. Didn't go with I9 because you have to have 2 chargers for it so dumb. And none of the games I throw at the i7 8850h and gtx 1080 don't make me lag at all. So the I9 would be over kill. If I need something more powerful I'll make a desktop. The laptop BTW is extremely sturdy.
Briony: Battery life is terrible Me: Hello its a super powerful gaming laptop/ desktop replacement so battery life was expected to be poor weren't you expecting besides i can probably deal with having to put the power brick back in if it falls out.
this video is really motivating. Seeing the before and after pictures make me realize that I can do it. Thanks
Love the easter egg review at the end. You didn’t say if the dragon comes with rgb or the cooling ;)
This is one good detailed review. But still, I may consider getting this regardless of its shortcomings. Thanks for reviewing this!
very nice review.. the information about the gaming laptop is very helpful..

Any updates on your question? I too am looking for this answer
very nice laptop. will buy in near future. thanx for posting video on this.

I second this request as I too am considering the Asus G703 GS but the 1070 GPU model.
why such a thick bezel around the screen
Heard a lot of "pretty goods" for a $3k price tag I'm looking for a lot more "really greats" Thanks for the review
The size/weight combined with 2 massive power bricks is such a deal breaker
😂😂😂😂
You could buy 2 of them and use as heavy weights you know?
I think the laptop is excellent, because of the features of its advanced processor to use it in games.
This is very good rewiew i really like your videos
This is a really good review. The high temps and noise levels are not so great though
Great review, what the decibel level when playing at high setting and moderate setting?
One time I've come to an event here in Philippines and for me MSI is the no. 1 provider of gaming computer
Everyone: **Looks at it's Core, Graphics card, Inches, Weight...**
Me: *numpads...*
Really good videos, so interestinggg
ME ENCANTA EL ORDENADOR, ES UNA BESTIAS , DEMASIADO CLARO EL VIDEO MUY EXPLICATIVO, EXCELENTE REVISION
good information. nice one.
good vibes :D exitos para sus proyectos
MSI should use the panel that Alienware uses in their 17" model. The 1440p 120hz GSYNC. A 1080p panel is stupid in this kind of device.

•17.3" diagonal 4K IPS anti-glare WLED-backlit (3840 x 2160), 144hz Like the Omen X I have is way better.
Nice vlog, good job girl !
you know i can just have the fans at turbo to keep the temps under 94 degress so that way i won't make the laptop overheat and damaging the components
Very nice graphicsszz and one of my fav gr

The new i9 can pull over 100 watts by itself, can't charge the laptop and run it at the same time without two, u can run it with one just not charge
witch one is the most expensive laptop of msi ???
I haven't seen a laptop that thick in years
Could you run Vray Benchmark? The result is going to the Vray Benchmark database, so we all can check it there. Thank you! 😉😃

Oh my god :O,this pc look awesome
wuuu high end for gaming, i want it
what about the HDMI vs the Displayport?
Hdmi is 2.0b and displayport is 1.4... Dp for refresh is higher.

a promising offer to consider
this or a helios 500?
Do you think the alienware 17R5 i9 is worth?
No. It runs very very hot. Alienware didn't change thier cooling setup at all from the r4 iteration. Ud be OK with the 8750 but not the i9
I am not a problem with the help, I am not sure how I would become more than just one.
Love that thumbnail lol
Not me

Excellent. Keep the vids coming. Love your in depth reviews.
please compare it to clevo p870tm/p775tm 8700k/gtx1080
I wonder if this laptop will benefit from de-dusting and repasting the CPU and GPU with better thermal paste.
4G12 yes. Look up eith Andrew trans review on RUclips or Phoenix on notebook review... Both are using lm

If a laptop had with gtx 1080 ti with a i9 I would be amazed
Are they going to make a desktop version of that i9? Not talking about the nonsense that is Kaby Lake X
It's basically a 8700k desktop wise
