I think the SR5 would look so much better if the fender flares were colour matched. I’m not a black vehicle guy typically but I think I’d only buy black in the SR5 so you don’t notice the plastic flares as much. I’m debating buying in a different colour and just get the flares painted for the extra cost lol But I’m currently undecided from the value of the SR5 to the TRD Sport and then saying the hell with it should I just go Limited (but wife don’t like chrome) or Platinum 😩
Now compare the 4 Runner against the 4wd F-150 STX, I really like the look of the 4 Runner, but you get just as much passenger room and more cargo area with the F-150 just by adding a topper or even a bed cover. You also can get the excellent v-8 in the Ford or the base 2.7 TT V-6 with more power. The similarly sized Ranger is even less money.
FWIW, a fully loaded Ranger 2.7 XLT FX4 high package with the advanced towing and technology packages was $47k (including delivery and destination) - that is basically every bell and whistle available on the XLT Ranger for just slightly more than a stripped down 4 Runner.
@2:55 i love the KO3s on my Ranger Raptor, but that wheel and tire package would look really nice. I like the flat faced look with the standard rims and don't always prefer the concaved look, depending on the vehicle. It affects the stance of it so much. But the bronze and black accents would go well with the shelter green to my eyes. Btw, I love this easily upgradable SR5, that with a few personal touches, could easily get you above Ranger Raptor $$ territory. That points out the fact that Ford offers this truck for the price it does, which is kinda crazy. There's no base ranger you could buy and pick from a parts bin that would equal a Ranger Raptor for the price. You might get a better rock crawler or a straight line performer. But that's not the point of the Raptor. I think the Ranger Raptor is kind of a freak in the segment, to be honest. All the others offer different recipes of similar flavors, but the Ranger Raptor feels like it bucks a trend.
It’s BS that you can’t get heated seats in an SR5 for $45k. Tacoma has a $600 cold weather package for the SR5 - $42k w/ 4WD. But I need to pay over $50k for a TRD Sport/OR to get heated seats in the 4Runner? First world problem I know, but also just a blatantly greedy upsell maneuver
No, it’s BS is that it doesn’t even come four-wheel-drive but it’s a 4runner and you have to pay two grand extra on all the different models to get four-wheel-drive
Same with the fact I can't option the swaybar disconnect on a TRD Offroad... even though you can in the TRD Offroad Tacoma. 4Runner trims are structured in an annoying, profit maximizing way this time around.
The new 4Runners are going to be a hit! The 4 cylinder turbo will just be as reliable as the previous generation. Everyone has their tampons all up in a bunch.
Indeed. Loud enthusiasts can chirp from the bench all the want, but sales are going to go up with this new powertrain. Gone will be the days of teens mpg and 4000RPM up highway passes. The 4.0L had very good ultimate reliability, but it could still cost you if known issues like big rear main seal issues hit you.
How are you not complaining about the lack of four-wheel-drive on all the models up to including getting the iforce max and still having to spend the extra two grand for four-wheel-drive
4WD is not typically standard in this segment. Look at all the other hard-roofed body on frame SUVs. They tend to offer 2WD. At least Toyota doesn't play around making a 2WD TRD Offroad.
@ you’re joking you don’t see the problem with 4Runner with NO 4 wheel drive??!! 😂. Are you joking about the TRD off-road version because that’s also rear wheel standard vs 4x4
@@ArtieMcYardie they have been making 2WD 4Runners since 1990. I would never buy one but others do. There is no 2WD TRD Offroad, which is something to be happy for; the prior gen Tacoma did offer a 2WD TRD Offroad, which I thought was silly.
@ yes look on the website. Starts at 44k. So essentially to get the TRD off road I have to jump another 6K or more just so I could say I got the four-wheel-drive.
@@ArtieMcYardie you're not making sense, I don't know if it's a language barrier or lack of post proofreading, or misunderstanding of the 2025 4Runner on your part. Whatever it is, best of luck.
Build your way? Ok! Drop the 4.7L V-8 into it like they did 2003 - 2009. 4 banger turbo and higher prices are a no for me until they routinely hit 200,000 miles without break downs.
That 2025 mall runner interior looks like it was purchased at the Dollar Store. Look at that 1990s style brick of a monitor. If you tilt it, it could double as a podium. Interior already looks dated. At these prices it should look like a entry level lexus interior ; lines and surfaces, not geometric throw-up.
@@ytj22 Ya no, a small displacement 2.4 turbo is to small to carry the heavy rig around. The engine will run very hot and will not last long term. Watch the car care nut on RUclips about this 2.4 turbo, you'll like it and learn from it.
@@Jojo-ni2cg Although he's not the bible, I watch tccn frequently and in this case he likes the 2.4t with proper maintenance. Toyota had issues with their V8 for a number of years after they launched it and this may (or may not) have issues as well, but I'm certain Toyota's engineers have accounted for many factors with this motor. With the hybrid you lose cargo space in the rear I don't understand why Toyota can't put the battery pack like somewhere else where you do not lose cargo space like even with the Tundra hybrid you lose cargo space like under the back bench seats of the Tundra that's where the battery is unlike with Ford they do a way better job in where to place the battery for the hybrid like I don't understand Toyota how they think that's a better place for it. Which to me sounds stupid.
@WinterBonus it's not a flat floor because of the battery so yes you do since the battery is in the dumbest place ever yes you do go look at the back. It's a fact it's not just a jump the whole back of the rear is basically the battery so you are wrong.
Don't forget the extra $200 for the cargo light. That's always been there on every past generation, 4runner.
If you don’t elect running boards, how do you jump into the vehicle?

Should’ve been a small 3 L V6 with a turbo. Still get nice fuel, efficiency, modern V6 engine with a turbo for added power.
