This violent and repulsive movie should be banned from being screened. BTW Joaquin Phoenix is a fucking anti social person as well. He deserves to be in lockup/mental hospital.
@@gavin9715 This movie is for damaged people this will inspire them. And if a die hard marvel fan like you kill a man for this movie why Joaquin will take responsibility
The King of Numbers but it does raise awareness about mental health to an extent because speaking about mental problems is almost like a taboo in our society. If you have a mental illness everyone expects you to act like you don’t have one, and if you can never speak about it to friends or loved ones and only a therapist how are people who can’t afford a therapist supposed to improve? The movie sheds light on many problems that aren’t spoken about often and that’s why I love it; it’s thought provoking and controversial. It’s not just another safe origin story about a mindless villain who wants to cause chaos for no good reason.
Just watched it and he nailed everything, felt uncomfortable, confused and believe the jokers crazy, and I love that the directors didn’t stereotype the joker. Such a unique movie definitely one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time

What a fantastic interview! She really nailed the questions and got Joaquin to open up! He seemed to feel comfortable with her as well. I’ve not yet seen the movie, but the clips already have me won over. Joaquin seems made for this role.
This is the first time JP described how the Joker dance came about. He has not answered this before in other interviews. You should watch the movie. It's very compelling.
Not taking anything from Ledger’s joker and his legacy and I am sure that if he had a character piece for a whole movie he would have Done a great job but Phoenix joker was really something else and he is number one for me.
Fredrik Johansson having watched both as well it really comes down to what character you like more I don’t think it was there acting methods it’s more how the characters are written
Well, Joaquin is the beginning of the story, and Heath is the aftermath. So I can say, you like Joaquin's cuz it is more of a progressive character arc. But Heath portrayed a well-defined and already established Clown Prince of Crime. So I think comparing them is a bit of uncalled for, they have the same character, but portraying two different arcs.
Fredrik Johansson Absolutely. I was so moved with Joaquin Phoenix's performance. Respect to Heath Ledger for sure but for me, Phoenix elevated the character in a remarkable and unprecedented way. We see a clear trajectory of how he becomes the Joker, made him more human and relatable, and not just this evil psychopath as he's been portrayed in past performances.
“Joker has this arrogance about him, he sees himself as a king and has a need to be revered..” Yep. Spot on. Sounds just like the Joker we all know and love. Joaquin definitely knows the character IMO
The banter between Joaquin and the interviewer when she asked whether he had to audition with that laugh, and Joaquin called her "very impressive," and her chest puffed out with pride as she said, "Thank you!" was the Cutest Thing Ever, I LOVE this interview!!! :'^)
@@redwingchronicle7974 I did it's a good movie hes a good actor but the whole movies was boring and I was really looking forward for it only 6 action scene fuck out of here
I love how when she asked if he would be considering doing a sequel as joker again, he just smiled at her. He might be considering it, but probably only if Todd Phillips was involved.
"I felt I needed to audition the laugh." ?! This is the epitome of modesty of a true hardworking artist... I love this human. It would be a miracle if we ever get to meet and chat 🙏
ultramarineblue How? Bruce was a kid in this and Arthur is well into adulthood. By the time Bruce dons the suit, Joker will be way too old to be a rival.
ultramarineblue that would be cool. But I don’t think the age gap would work. Also Todd Phillips said this would be a stand-alone and Joaquin usually doesn’t do sequels anyways. He was the first choice for doctor strange but didn’t want to be under contract for multiple films
Ryan Hendrickson Bruce was like 10-12 years old. Joker is 30. Pattinson’s Batman will probably be 25-30. That would put joker at 45-50. That’s not a crazy age gap, and this version of the joker seems very comic like in the sense that he doesn’t fight hand to hand pretty much at all. (At least not against Batman)
I’ve seen many interviews with Joaquin talking about this movie, this one was different. I think because she asked about the performance, the ability that he got to do such a roll and the effort he made to make this character perfect for the fans. He was amazed she mentioned that he creat the laugh even when he already got the roll and when she brought up the weight loss from different angel.
I can’t hear his voice without thinking the joker always sounds like that now edit: Jesus thanks for the likes but all I said was his voice is burned into my mind as the joker even heath ledger can’t imagine he isn’t a Joaquin Phoenix voice
That was a good and not at all tense interview. He seemed relaxed and comfortable, and also pretty joyful as well. Well done! Also, that smile at the end... sequel anyone? :D
Man I hope they just leave this as a one and done... heaths feels so special because that movie was all we had of his character... I feel like Joaquin’s will end up just as iconic especially if they leave it a one and done
idk man I think having such strong scenes with young bruce (especially at the gate) were some serious teasers for a sequel. I could honestly fucking dig the Robert Pattinson thing happening.
Daniel Goodwin I hear what your saying... trust me I’d absolutely love to see him go against Batman but I just feel like this movie and his joker will be looked at as more iconic with just this one movie
I never felt the need to lean in on an interview until today. I drew closer to the screen to hear exactly what they were saying. He has such a down to earth feeling about him and she just eased me through the whole conversation by being so eloquent and well tempered. Excellent interview.
I think she really meant “audition” because it came as a surprise to her. She must’ve thought of it being like casting for Batman in who would be a better fit. Joaquin was a first choice and it was a coincidence he auditioned himself.

@@gavin9715 it is a piece of art. It is not real, is a movie.Crazy peoaple will be crazy whatever they have seen the movie or not.And also, the movie has an important message about our world; we should all take a look of ourselves.
Its exactly the sort of people who think that people go crazy just by violent movies or tv that ignore people who are genuinely suffering severe mental illness, brand them crazy, ignore them, get swept up in the gross hyperbole of the media that gives the attention these individuals lack and always craved through depraved acts of violence. Arthur's counselor ignored him when he was in need, his manipulative employees, he was desperate for some humanity and affection and was tossed aside. He only got the attention he craved as he started making people notice him through violence, and the media hysteria was crazy. It led to other disenfranchised, cast aside proletariat too rise and worship him as a deity. It fueled his ego. It made him powerful, it made him recognized. The movie is not a celebration of violence, its a cautionary tale. And albeit we all have different tastes, but I can't help but feel that many who are so critical are the real target of the satire.

Who's played the joker better-
Like- Joaquin Phoenix
Comment- Jared Leto
Angel Guerra
Both.
They was both going for different things and had different stories to work with.
They both played their versions of the joker amazing.
They are different jokers lol
Jared Letos performance was, lets say, unique. Joaquin's was iconic.
jared leto joker was horrible. let’s face it. leto is an amazing actor and singer but that joker was awful.
Angel Guerra what the fuck about the legend heath ledger
During the Oscars: when you bring me out can you introduce me as Joker
Everyone: Applause
Francisco Martinez 😂😂😂
That would be amazing
Or if his acceptance speech stats with"do you wanna hear a joke?"
thats fucking awesome
Then he shoots Robert in real life
Lol she had no idea he auditioned the laugh, she was just guessing.
And went on to act like she did some how. Kinda weird
CB313 She said she didn’t and he wouldn’t drop it
you ever run into someone who looks like someone you know. but as you talk to them you realise it's not them but they go along with it like they knew you. but we you guys part ways you think... wasnt that?? naww couldn't be....
Of course he auditioned the laugh. You need to get the laugh to get that role, so of course it is. Pure logic.
@@DanskerenAlex but the director said it wasnt necessary
Joaquin is truly a great talent. I love his acting. His interviews are always so pleasant. He is always so down to earth polite funny and shy. Such a gentleman. He would be so nice to talk to.
this movie will inspire poor criminal minded teens/losers to commit horrific crimes! This movie will make anti social elements in the society blame the rich/successful people for their condition and they will try to seek revenge.
This violent and repulsive movie should be banned from being screened.
BTW Joaquin Phoenix is a fucking anti social person as well. He deserves to be in lockup/mental hospital.
@@gavin9715 hmmm troll
You know that actors also act in interviews, do you?
Joaquin Phoenix is the sexiest man alive, you can't change my mind.
How about Keanu Reeves, change my mind.

Just watched it and he nailed everything, felt uncomfortable, confused and believe the jokers crazy, and I love that the directors didn’t stereotype the joker. Such a unique movie definitely one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time
IT WAS AMAZING!
A well defined character with a good story! 💯👌
Thats why it was so good they trailers made it seem like it would sympathize with the joker but man this movie surprised me
yeah good call on the directors for not putting a 'Damaged' tattoo on his forehead

uhh, maybe because he's objectively attractive?!

The interviewer was so grateful when she got a compliment from him. XD It was really funny. Like she was expecting him to be a difficult interviewee or something.
Joaquin probably fancies her.
@@slipknotfan4204 Or he actually appreciated her question, and apparent interview prep work. XD He's a married man, and it was a professional compliment/encouragement.
Yes he appreciated her research for the interview, Joaquin is only engaged to Rooney Mara. I think Joaquin finds the interviewer attractive nonetheless.

What a fantastic interview! She really nailed the questions and got Joaquin to open up! He seemed to feel comfortable with her as well. I’ve not yet seen the movie, but the clips already have me won over. Joaquin seems made for this role.

You can tell Joaquin is actually smart AF when HE (not the studio) took time to do research on small details like weight loss/gain on medication.
@CUTTING EDGE watch the movie. The joker took and takes medication throughout the movie
He is a true professional.
Nah. No research needed. It's just base on his experience I think. Lol
Fabio's Football Thats true. I just find Arthur more haunting and struck more of a nerve with me.
@@scottstorchfan joaquin joker is terrifying and nostalgic, heath ledger is more edgy and smooth.. They are going down as a best jokers...
It’s so nice to watch interviews with him where he actually likes the interviewer 😂
This dude is a real actor he wants challenge and wants to hone his craft.
“Joker has this arrogance about him, he sees himself as a king and has a need to be revered..”
Yep. Spot on. Sounds just like the Joker we all know and love. Joaquin definitely knows the character IMO
its disturbing how because he used his natural voice in the movie its like talking to arthur in every interview
The banter between Joaquin and the interviewer when she asked whether he had to audition with that laugh, and Joaquin called her "very impressive," and her chest puffed out with pride as she said, "Thank you!" was the Cutest Thing Ever, I LOVE this interview!!! :'^)

ultramarineblue How?
Felix Wantanabe Hmmm... I was thinking he was closer to 40. I guess that gap still isn't too big.
Felix Wantanabe Bruce legit looked maybe 8 at the most. Didn’t look middle school aged to me at all
I’ve seen many interviews with Joaquin talking about this movie, this one was different. I think because she asked about the performance, the ability that he got to do such a roll and the effort he made to make this character perfect for the fans. He was amazed she mentioned that he creat the laugh even when he already got the roll and when she brought up the weight loss from different angel.

Marvel: "You Bastards"
