@@caspeansea9179 I can’t tell you from personal experience because I never had a stutter but stuttering is 100% psychological from the research I’ve done. You form patterns in your brain that become your brains way of getting through a sentence. That then becomes the way you speak because your brain recognizes the over load of words and remembers you got over it with a stutter in the past so it becomes more pronounced and will become more and more subconscious as time goes on. You get frustrated when you can’t get a sentence out so when you do get it out your brain releases dopamine as a reward chemical for overcoming something stressful. By overthinking you clog up your mental highway if you wanna call it that. Mushrooms (even non-psychedelic) have helped a lot of people with stuttering issues. It's weird in a way, as I think it is relatable in many ways to many people. I had just started a new job in a new town, and I wasn't doing too great. I didn't win any respect at work and the other guys were giving me a hard time about it. I felt totally incompetent, and knew no one to discuss anything with. I was out alone one night and walked into a run down cinema and this was on. It was a large auditorium, but there were maybe five people in there and I'd chosen a central seat and all the other patrons were behind me so it felt like it was just me in there. When I came out it was late at night and pouring rain, the streets were empty and I was dreading going back to work the next day. I've just stumbled upon this, and that haunting musical score has just reminded me of that time. Pretty strange.
@@nelsonhibbert5267Your analysis of how this movie makes you feel hits all the correct notes. I’m from the North and moved to a small town in Texas. I worked night shifts and rode an electric bicycle. Riding around at night on unfamiliar empty streets in a place where nobody knew me or accepted me was deeply introspective. I would swerve the lanes wondering why I was there and why I felt so lost. Seeing a wandering homeless person at 2am, I felt closer to them than the people I worked with. It’s a very hard thing to explain. It’s cool to see someone else get how alone one can feel in a society they don’t understand.

Fantacy is a normal aspect of life. Typically though, fantacy is just an elusive lifestyle or big adventure for most that live a normal life with A, B and C of what one is supposed to have. Arthur on the other hand, like many folk in real life, were always outcasts, rejects and unwanted which results in one becoming a narcissist who possesses empathy due to lack of social development with peers but still having the "love" and "praise" from a mother. Its sad how people are broken so early in life and never really heal.

I think that’s why I appreciate this movie so much it spoke about mental illness and the budget cuts we see in mental health care. I can relate in the sense of anger and having to hold stuff in I was a foster kid who had to wear a “mask” most of my life as well, and I had therapy a lot where I saw the budget cuts a lot. I hope that this movie shows we need to listen to people, and stop shutting people down. Because it helps. I also hope people see the problem with the mental health care system too, we need to fix it for real. Edit: also I cried at the beginning because I could relate to the anger, depression, and the hurt that repeated and repeated for Arthur.

I dont know why but Joaquin Phoenixs' voice is so soothing and he is such a beautiful person. And I love the way he says comedy. Loved every minute of this movie!
For anyone who says that this movie is not a comic book movie and only takes inspiration from Taxi Driver or King of Comedy. Definitely not reading a lot of comics. This film takes a lot of inspiration from comics. Joker in a talk show and kissed one of the guests, it was taken from the comic "The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller. Joker as a failed comedian and became a victim of harassment before he became the Joker, it was taken from the comic "The Killing Joke" by Alan Moore. And there are a lot of scenes in asylum, street, theater, stairs, office, that was taken from many Batman comics like A Serious House on A Serious Earth, White Knight, Going Sane, City Of Owls, and Earth One.
Joachin phoenix's joker is a full, multidimensional character. Heat ledger's joker Is a two dimensional character acted by a great actor. He did the best he could do with that script .
jaoquin phoenix for me is 100% the most grounded in reality version of joker I have ever seen....he absolutely blew me away..a phenomenal performance...extremely disturbing...excellent film
The thing that just grabbed me is Arthur’s very sad decent of another person left behind. Forgotten by society. No friends, his love interest is a figment of your imagination, and if he vanished from the face of the earth, nobody would notice. Which is a such a unfortunately realistic way for someone to descend into a joker.
What a disturbingly brilliant work of art, it's been over a year and this is still one of my personal favorites. Every element is phenomenal from the cast, score and script.
@@TheSentientsix agreed I actually heard that there was some jokerverse that's going to happen and they might hire some actor for batman but I dont know how true that is since I read a article online
The maine reason why this Joker movie is such a hit is because it's realistic, carries a lot of emotions and relatable to a lot, if not most, of us. Plus the acting, scenes, etc overall is just awesome.
Arthur Fleck was NOT a narcissist. Every chance he got to reach out to humanity, he tried. He offered laughter and tried to make people happy, even if he didnt quite know how. And every opportunity people had to hurt him, they did.
The point was that Joker was the narcissist born out of Fleck's id. Fleck wanted to be harmless and make people laugh. Because of this, he never stood up for himself and suppressed his anger and resentment. Arthur died when he killed the third guy in the subway. He went from just waiting for yet another beatdown to end, to chasing his prey and enjoying the suffering before finishing him off. Arthur literally and figuratively ran away and all that was left was his proud id, dancing in celebration of finally being free.
not gonna lie, this was the best joker version for me. Kudos to all production and specially to you legend Joaquin Phoenix 👏🏻 your acting just spectacular
I watched this movie on an airplane. Even though I was in a cramped airplane I felt as if I got transported to the world. One of the most amazing experiences with film I have ever had.
Joker is one of the most powerful, well made comic book movies of all time, the story, beautifully shot and filmed, everything was top notch. Todd Philip’s created a masterpiece, Joaquin Phoenix nailed the role of Joker 👏👏👏
"The Joker's been interpreted and done so many times over the years and I think there hasn't been a bad one yet." ... Jared Leto will probably watch this video daily.
Jared wasn't really a bad joker he was just badly written with very few scenes but his acting was phenomenal, you just hate Jared because of the hate bandwagon.
Samantha L He isn’t a bad actor but he was acting like an immature sperg when this movie was in production which only aggravated the hate towards him as an actor and the joker he portrayed in suicide squad.
That specific Joker character always made me feel emotional. I think that Joaquin played it extremely well because he is empathetic with mental health issues. Maybe he had rougher times in his life with mental health so he can relate, maybe not. But for me, if I was an actor and got an opportunity to play a similar role I think I would 110% embodied it and probably feel very connected with the character because I had extremely hard chapters in my life, I travelled and met so many people struggling, I did so many different things and felt so many different emotions. I am healthy both physically and mentally right now but I understand people going through rough times because I have been there. But yeah, that must be quite a thrill to be an actor such as him. Excellent job Joaquin
“There hasn’t been a bad version of the joker yet”.... I think by the look of his face while he said that you and I both know that the suicide squad joker was complete trash
It was not that bad... it was made for a plainly dark & dork comedy purpose with a typical Hollywood budget. I am a big fan of Batman universe and I loved they choose to do something very different with a obviously younger Joker in a different kind of insanity and humor... Jared Leto played the role the way he was asked. Joker from Todd Philips is a psychological film noir inspired by movies like Taxi Driver in the 70´s. with a way smaller budget even if I am pretty sure it was bigger than a typical low-key independent movie... You can’t even compare two movies in a such different place and target audience. Todd Philippe’s choices was risky too because not all Joker fans were ok with the idea to relate the back story of the character. I loved TP’s Joker but I didn’t liked the turn of the story about the possible paternal link of Thomas Wayne to Arthur... In my humble opinion, it was unnecessary to go this far. When I watched the movie in theater I was like ... "wait... what the heck is going on ? ". It was too much. But it’s an incredible piece of art at the end. And it’s entirely expelled from the official DCU.
@@thaleis yeah that wasn't so bad.. But the late Heath Ledger had set the bar so high for this character but jared's version failed to reach that same level of expectations and disappoints many fans...
I think Leto’s Joker was actually not that bad. It’s just the movie was so weirdly produce, and so anti climatic. SS was just all over the place. I think one of the reasons Leto’s Joker was unlikable because we never get to explore it much, he was just there, it’s like a cameo. If SS was all about Joker and Harley, I think Leto’s potrayal wouldn’t be so bad, well I mean not up there there but not exactly “worst” either

He finally stands up for himself and it feels so empowering and euphoric that he can't contain it and starts to dance, purely for his own amusement, in his own unique, personal way, letting go and savoring the moment as much as he can. You can see just how much more comfortable and even powerful he feels compared to earlier, just in the way he moves. A truly transformative experience for the character. Brilliant.

@@JeromeMcklansky Do mushrooms really work.?
They let the words flow without overthinking and creating a gap in your brains processing which shows itself as a stutter. Give this podcast a shot.
*dark knight returns
Geo Van u don’t have to read a comic book to know that a killing sociopath became that because of his own hurt and harassment.

The thing that just grabbed me is Arthur’s very sad decent of another person left behind. Forgotten by society. No friends, his love interest is a figment of your imagination, and if he vanished from the face of the earth, nobody would notice.

And it’s entirely expelled from the official DCU.
and Jared Leto is returning as the joker-
@@thaleis yeah that wasn't so bad.. But the late Heath Ledger had set the bar so high for this character but jared's version failed to reach that same level of expectations and disappoints many fans...
I think u forgot about Jared Leto
I think Leto’s Joker was actually not that bad. It’s just the movie was so weirdly produce, and so anti climatic. SS was just all over the place. I think one of the reasons Leto’s Joker was unlikable because we never get to explore it much, he was just there, it’s like a cameo. If SS was all about Joker and Harley, I think Leto’s potrayal wouldn’t be so bad, well I mean not up there there but not exactly “worst” either
Behind every great villain, there is a sad story to tell.
Not always
Sad but true, n 99% ppl wont notice they misunderstood them.
Tresor Gives one of his life goals complete
True but there are villains who have for their whole just been evil
@@smile_jpg6673like who?
Todd Phillips is a beast. The best directors can see movies before they're even filmed which is an incredible talent, like writing music.
Thats what art is. A vision which then becomes a reality.
River Phoenix would be proud of his younger brother Joaquin.
I wish Heath Ledger was alive today because I felt like we've been rob after his death.
@@abramsullivan7764 he was special talent
I bet Heath Ledger would bow before Joaquin Phenix for his performance. They are both the greatest Jokers
You are joking right? Heath is on a different level
for me both are great. I won´t judge. I can´t imagine there will be better jokers then these two. but we will see.
@@nizze5461 Apples and oranges, Y so serious? They are both great but two different types of movies, it's realism vs. fantasy.
Ummm…… Jack Nicholson? Hello?
@@nizze5461Nah stop wearing nostalgia goggles and putting him on some godly pedestal just because he passed away. Joaquin’s performance was equally as amazing and a lot of people would agree with me.
I can’t imagine other actors in this Joker role except Joaquin. This is why the movie is a blockbuster.
I had seen him in Walk the Line and Gladiator. Like as soon as you heard that he was going to be in it was going to be incredible.
Heath ledger ?
YeaItsDerrick Heath ledger is my favorite joker but I feel like for the style of this movie and the role that Joaquin played I couldn’t see Heath playing this side of things if that makes sense
@@5300trilla ppl who are alive, duh
@Moby Biggest heath would of owned this role
Joaquin played him in a way that makes the character endearing in a way. You just feel so sorry for him for the way he has been treated. It makes you sad for all the mentally ill people that there really is no help for and a system that fails them or just doesn't want anything to do with them and wishes they wouldn't even exist.
I am so glad I worked at a cinema when this came out, on a daily I would sneak and "check" screens just to see the Joker's segment on the Murray show. Such an ace film.
My appreciation goes to my fans all over the world

waahhaahhahaha i cant breath :D
😆
I screamed 😭😭
Savage😂 but ya don't hate Jared Leto, poor man must turn into morbius bcs of our rudeness
HAHAHAHSHSBD YOO
Imagine Batman facing off with this kind of Joker
there is no concept of batman with this kind of joker. It's impossible to imagine a man with two horns and a cape in this world. It would be absurd. they'd have to reinvent it.
Well there is this new batman with robert patterson
@@juanlettieri2100 robert pattinson
@@juanlettieri2100 wdym? That’s what Bruce becomes and he exists in this universe.
@Moby Biggest what proof do you need? His origin was set up. There is no joker without Batman.
Joaquin Phoenix is the ONLY Joker. He embodied him and made us understand why Arthur/The Joker, is like he is. No other actor has succeeded in getting to the essence of The Joker.....until Joaquin Phoenix. I adore this portrayal and this man.
dismissing heath ledger
Amazing actor, amazing personality. ❤
I agree but also heath ledger
