Joaquin was much more comfortable with Jimmy Fallon than with Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy Fallon does a better job with going with Joaquin's flow and it was fun to watch Joaquin mess with Jimmy and Jimmy didn't take it too seriously in fact he was kind of in awe of him for how he messed with him which was cool. Joaquin looked like he had fun. The movie was absolutely phenomenal. Joaquin Phoenix is an amazing actor and his evolution into the Joker was unbelievable.

The way Jimmy Fallon sat on the visitor chair was just too funny.

You guys are tripping Joaquin didn’t mean it negatively or jokingly, the beginning monologue has been a built in part of the late show since the beginning. Monologue can be used to describe a person obliviously dominating a conversation or just to describe someone speaking alone to an audience for a time, which is how he meant it, i.e “do a monologue.” Also Fallon would’ve died ‘laughing’ if he actually made a dig at him there
