Well done sir! This video has the wheels in my brain spinning. I've been looking for a way to increase volume on my MI-4. I might do it a bit different than you have here, but again, this video has given me some ideas! Replacement end caps are $12. I'm going to buy a couple and F around with them and come up with something slick. Love your channel! Love your technique!
Great video, Jeremy. Another idea to add to yours, drill several 1/32/or smaller holes and add a piece of tape over the charging port. Where can you buy replacement caps?
The replacement cap does not come with the rubber ring between the cap and pointer, I found out the hard way when my dealer told me it would ughh XP sent me a free rubber ring though, so that was very nice, and it came from a different shop I think I might switch too, because the shop I'm trying to be loyal too is scaring me off with prices, almost $100 more then everywhere else for certain products
Jeremy, this may sound silly but you might try picking up a Garrett ProPointer II. Reason I say this is that I have my original from when they were first introduced and it still works good as new. No it isn't wireless or waterproof but to be very honest I prefer it to any of the new pinpointers.
@@PaystreakSuperfreak I get that. Personally I bounce back and forth. I like batteries in case my device dies in the field and I can recharge. But I like rechargeable batteries because I don't have to bring an extra battery. Wish detectors were solar,
Pitch tones, put the detector to the soil and quick press the button. My experience with pulse tones is that it does not give a great proximity tone. Pitch tones has great proximity tones.
Your magnet remover is goner do more damage than the file did if you slip, and yes a separate cap from xp would be great.I have been drilling the caps and glueing a piece nylon tent type material over the drilled hole to stop dust ingress, been working for many years .I just have a separate cap for water use.😮😮😊😊😊
@@PaystreakSuperfreak sorry about that Jeremy. That comment was regarding another question not your videos brother. I've learned from you for years now.
What if instead of putting the plastic under the cap, you wrapped the magnet 🧲 in plastic and popped it in That way you would need to deal with it while charging
Dust would get past the magnet through the lanyard hole where I put the extractor through. A little bit of dust goes a long way. I am going to be using this without the magnet for a few weeks, I want to see if the tones are that much louder.
The pinpointer audio through the remote is way loud for my videos and gives me a headache. That constant loud hum from the pitch tones threshold at full volume will make our ears bleed.
Many reasons why I do not pair to headphones or remote to Mi6. The remote pinpointer tones are so so so obnoxiously loud it is hard to keep viewers watching because the loud mineral tones when using pitch tones, a constant hum like a threshold. I do not use headphones because a video without beeps is a video that will get almost no views on RUclips. Viewrs come to my channel for the live dig with audio. I do not wear headphones because I need to be very aware of my surroundings because we are in sketchy parks and I also need to hear my friends and their detectors. Many more reasons but no time to ramble on.

Love the mods videos!! keep them coming!
Thanks Stefan! Will do!

Where can you buy replacement caps?
You can order a replacement cap from authorized XP dealers in your area. Most parts on XP products can be ordered separately.

I only use vibration so no mod needed here. I don't want the rest of the world to hear my detector or my pinpointer.
Same but even the vibration mode on the XP pointers can be a little weak. Still better than sound though.

I am trying to purchase devices that do not require disposable batteries. I am trying to go with devices which have built in batteries. Thanks William

Hey bud how do you re-calibrate the xp

That's what I just did way to low sound as they are

I GB my pinpointers all the time in my videos.

Just got the Mi4 and they deffo are quiet
Or you can Just pair it and use it over the remote speaker.

One would think it would sink with detector speaker. Stuff that .
It does!
@@goldmanjace ok why not use it.
It took me way to long to realize you guys meant sync, I was like it probably does sink
