i'm a zillion years old and have been to several Mac concerts; This gave me goosebumps, thank you for posting Florence's one time performance of the chain.
The cover was great, it was not identical and they took their own version which i find fitting, they seem to enjoy themselves quite a lot. Also, the camera work is great, i bet a lot of the cameramen know the song, many of the camera changes were on time and on relevant song changes, they are so good they are capturing what we want to see, changes between the faces, the instruments, the hands, the expressions, even the stomping barefeet and the spontaneous dancing.
You know concert footage gets edited, right? Like they film from all angles and then put together something awesome like this so the angles change with the musical timing. ❤️
The passion in her performance is awe-inspiring, and honestly, if I were to hand-pick someone to do a cover of any Fleetwood Mac song where Stevie Nicks is the front vocalist, I would pick Florence + the Machine. Stevie Nicks and Florence Welch are both like forest spirits.

Nice tribute by Flo + company of a great Mac song. Gotta give her kudos for covering this. Fleetwood Mac was the music of my teenage years and 20's, very little today compares to the music of the 60's and 70's. Florence + The Machine are one of the exceptions, so overlooked by awards, but lauded by critics. I'm glad I grew up in the 60's and 70's with some of the best music ever, but glad to see artists in succeeding decades put out great music, and Florence Welch is definitely one of them.
Wow, a lot of haters. Here's two things to consider: 1) This band will be the first to admit it doesn't sound as good as the original; 2) Still, it sounds better than 95% of the crap on the radio today. So ask yourself why you're hating.
To me the only thing wrong was the Aquestic guitar wasn't high pitched enough (but that's normal cause fleetwoods was special made for that song) and the bass wasn't high enough and was a little to deep other then that they did fine.
+DaFuq no he said in an interview once that his Aquestic guitar was special made and had its own tune and was able to change how high or low it could go. And he did the same for the song that was actually so posed to be the chain it was called keep me there it was the second chain song the first was called butter cookie but they never made it to the concert just to one album but there both VERY rare to find cause only did one recording. Sense they had the chain made. The song keep me there had the same music to it but it more mellow and had different lyrics. In my opinion it was there best song idk why they didn't just put it out instead of the chain, or put both out.
No matter where you hear this piece of music you know exactly what it represents. The last two minutes of this song transends music. Formula 1 came home last year...
One of the best songs in rock n roll history by one of the best performers in rock n roll history. Heavenly. Thank you so very much for that. Much love.
Have no clue who Florence is but thank yooooouuuu thank youu for covering this epic song, so the youth of today have a chance to hear it!!! Really great!
I absolutely love Florence, and I love this song. If only I could have been there to listen to it live. Also to the people who say it's just horrible, how?!?! Yeah they're not Fleetwood Mac, and of course they will never top the original but that's not the intention. They're paying tribute to a band that inspired them. Florence is a unique vocalist, and she brings a very different texture to the song.
Unique texture is one thing. Hitting glaringly wrong notes is a whole 'nother thing, and that's why it's horrible. There's too many crap bands today, and apparently crap fans also, who can't recognize musicians with terrible ears.
I wouldn't say it's terrible. The band nails it, but Florence doesn't have the right phrasing, timbre, or tone to convey Lindsey's vocal delivery. She also misses a ton of notes and sounds flat at times. Florence is a great singer in her own right, but when you measure her versus Lindsey Buckingham or Stevie Nicks, especially when she is singing one of Fleetwood Mac's songs, it's not difficult to understand why people would be turned off of this rendition. I liken this to The Smashing Pumpkins covering Landslide. The voice isn't good enough with certain vocal phrasing or techniques to even come close to delivering the essence of the original song. A couple examples of covers I think are better than the original: Machine Head's "Message In A Bottle," Faith No More's "War Pigs," Pearl Jam's "Last Kiss," The Spinners' "Working My Way Back To You," and Rush's covers of "Crossroads" and "The Seeker."
I love the original song and I love this cover. They're both amazing in different ways. Shut up and reevaluate your life if you can't see the true musical beauty of Florence's voice.
Almost everyone who covers this song comes to tears. My god "If you don't love me know, you will never love me again" just says it all ! Florence and the Machine CRUSHED IT !!!! so fucking talented!
To people saying she cannot sing, have you ever listened to her other songs? Especially "No Light, No Light"? Because I've never heard such a powerful voice before. I get it. Some people like the original version of this cover better, and that is okay, that's what we call "tastes", and they differ from one to another. This is a cover, of course it would be different from the original, that is what a cover is about. Liking it or not is up to you, but saying that has horrible singing skills is both disrespectful and false. Please listen to her original songs before making such a quick judgement.
She can definitely sing. Florence is so talented but this is not the right type of song for her. She would have needed to lower the pitch in her voice in the non chorus parts.
I have loved Fleetwood Mac through the ages and I love Flo + the Machine. I can understand why they sang this only once. As someone once sang, nothing compares.
That was a tight set. You could tell the band very much enjoyed the performance. It might have gone over the head of some of the crowd but band did a great job. Miss Nick's voice is not easy to cover but wow.
Florence is fantastic, she has a beautiful voice but I also love the fact that she does a cover specifically for that gig. All those people are getting something that has never been seen or heard from her and no one else will ever get to see. Thats pretty special!
I truly believe this song sounds amazing on any cover by any band, never gets old, and i'm sad because i listened it for the first time ever while whatching Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2
Technically this song is a duet between Stevie and Lindsey. So it lacks the tension that under lies it. And this is a great cover. No one else sings quite like Florence. She did this song justice.
im 44 and this was before my time btw...lmao tysm for covering one of the greatest songs of all time :) may it live on for more ppl to find before their time ;P
Wouldn't be a fan but thats a pretty damn good cover of a classic. For those who say not as good as FM, they are not trying to be. They are giving their own rendition of the song and its an excellent effort

@@monicaharvatt633 Hi.not sure what I was commenting on it was 4 months ago pretty sure it wasn’t about the chain.Good to here from another Mac fan.I have seen them lots of times the first one was when Bob Welch was with them .I was so disappointed when they didn’t turn up for the gig in 1970 all the gear was there with The Mac stencilled all over it.I wonder if I posted the reply in the wrong place .
Would have loved to have seen Bob Welch live! The early 70s was a wild time for our band. I was 8 years old when Rumours came out, so I clued into Bob Welch & Peter Green much later. My favorite from that era is Danny Kirwin.
Fleetwood Mac is my fav band-and I give applause to Florence and The Machine. While I do not know a lot of there stuff, I really think this is a nicely done cover. :)
I'm don't know much of this band, I've listened just a few songs of them and i like em a lot but I love Fleetwood Mac and all i can say it's exquisite cover. I grew to think that when a band cover another band is better to (obviously do the song but also) add your own soul to it and not just play the same thing because otherwise just let the original artist do it. And i think Florence and the machine really captured that, which i like. Awesome job.
I wasnt there, but i can feel the energy. Ive seen her in concert. I touched her dress. This means a lot to my southern roots. Im glad. Pure energy, as every great aartist is.

Almost everyone who covers this song comes to tears. My god "If you don't love me know, you will never love me again" just says it all ! Florence and the Machine CRUSHED IT !!!! so fucking talented!
Such an amazing cover of the greatest song ever. The guitar playing was awesome.
Damn formidable cover! There's only one Mac but this was a classic moment.
My favorite Fleetwood Mac song ever!
The album 'Rumors' it's absolutely classic all the time!
Please listen to her original songs before making such a quick judgement.
i mean...if your taste includes badly sung versions of classics, then go right ahead i guess
She can definitely sing. Florence is so talented but this is not the right type of song for her. She would have needed to lower the pitch in her voice in the non chorus parts.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE her!! She is has an original voice just like Stevie and Janice
She isn't in key. No bias necessary
Her voice is not well suited to this song but heard her live at the Eden Project and she is awesome
I thanked Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 everyday just for introducing me to this song, Fleetwood Mac, and this Florence cover!
Florence does the best cover of this song ever. I love the way she jumps all over the stage. Great legs too. Bravo!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have loved Fleetwood Mac through the ages and I love Flo + the Machine. I can understand why they sang this only once. As someone once sang, nothing compares.
I think she sounds beautiful and amazing in this cover. I'm glad she had so much fun singing it!
That was a tight set. You could tell the band very much enjoyed the performance. It might have gone over the head of some of the crowd but band did a great job. Miss Nick's voice is not easy to cover but wow.
i would love to thank james gunn personally for introducing me to both fleetwood mac and florence + the machine
Not many people of this earth can say they stood before 10’s of thousands and rocked’em. Appreciate greatness!
Such a great cover.. she is sooo talented the band did a wonderful performances!
Florence is fantastic, she has a beautiful voice but I also love the fact that she does a cover specifically for that gig. All those people are getting something that has never been seen or heard from her and no one else will ever get to see. Thats pretty special!
Very valid point rachel. It makes the performance even more special. Having seen fleetwood mac live, flo does this great song great justice.
@4:23 the guitarist knew they was absolutely smashing this song. Bravo!
Watched this expecting the classic to be murdered but I bloody liked it , well done , well done
the amount of shivers i got only from a video is indecorous
I didnt know that I needed this, somehow I did......great performance, great crowd, great song
I just love that they covered the song. It shows their heart. And you can tell she draws influence from stevie. Kudos to the band too
This went into my soul and pulled out joy and sadness I didn't know was there
I truly believe this song sounds amazing on any cover by any band, never gets old, and i'm sad because i listened it for the first time ever while whatching Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2
Honestly Florence is the only person who I’m ok with doing a cover of Stevie. Both are such queens!
I so wish there was a studio version of this! She absolutely killed it in traditional Florence fashion ❤❤
For my money she is one of the best live performers currently active. She's a proper entertainer.
Technically this song is a duet between Stevie and Lindsey. So it lacks the tension that under lies it. And this is a great cover. No one else sings quite like Florence. She did this song justice.
I got goosebumps before I clicked the video!!!
im 44 and this was before my time btw...lmao tysm for covering one of the greatest songs of all time :) may it live on for more ppl to find before their time ;P
Bass player & drummer killed it
But can we talk about how much the back up singers added✋😭
Wouldn't be a fan but thats a pretty damn good cover of a classic. For those who say not as good as FM, they are not trying to be. They are giving their own rendition of the song and its an excellent effort
Wonderful!!! I'm in love :-) obsessed with Fleetwood Mac original but the talent of Florence is immense xx
One of my favourite Peter Green songs.I am 72 and been a nut for Peters guitar playing and songs since I was. 16.I went to see The Mac around the time he left. They didn’t turn up for the gig.Obviously things were going on at the time.I never saw him live.I would have loved to have seen him live.Sorry must have replied to wrong post.
I love Peter Green, too. Fleetwood Mac recored The Chain for Rumours (released in 1977), long after Green left.

Hi.not sure what I was commenting on it was 4 months ago pretty sure it wasn’t about the chain.Good to here from another Mac fan.I have seen them lots of times the first one was when Bob Welch was with them .I was so disappointed when they didn’t turn up for the gig in 1970 all the gear was there with The Mac stencilled all over it.I wonder if I posted the reply in the wrong place .

@@rileysummers484 you're a genius
Check out “heavy in your arms”, great song
I'm don't know much of this band, I've listened just a few songs of them and i like em a lot but I love Fleetwood Mac and all i can say it's exquisite cover. I grew to think that when a band cover another band is better to (obviously do the song but also) add your own soul to it and not just play the same thing because otherwise just let the original artist do it. And i think Florence and the machine really captured that, which i like. Awesome job.
I am a Fleetwood Mac fan from way back, and I happen to love this.
She’s just so good, so incredibly talented! Amazing, thank you.
I wasnt there, but i can feel the energy. Ive seen her in concert. I touched her dress. This means a lot to my southern roots. Im glad. Pure energy, as every great aartist is.
