I just took my very first golf lesson, and I learned that I come over the top. The instructor was trying to get my swing plane shallower, but I felt like there were too many different things to keep track of (backswing, hip rotation, dropping the hands, weight shift, etc.). This lesson makes sense to me, and I think I need to begin with shorter swings so I can start to understand what the correct path feels like.

Great timing! My daughter has been practicing the last couple of weeks trying to spin the ball the opposite of she normally does.. Part of her problem is also she tends to tense up and grip with her left hand too hard and I think it affects he release and also hits "over the top". Anyhow.. the kids love your videos... thanks!
