    Aimee! I'm doing everything you taught us in this video. Including every little detail. And it's turning out to be the finest golf instruction I've ever had the good fortune to receive. At first, I was substituting a couple of my preferred techniques - actually thinking yours sounded too detailed, too small to make a difference. Boy was I wrong! Following your instructions to the letter is now allowing my swing to come alive in ways I hadn't thought possible. I just want to thank you greatly for offering this advise to me and all my fellow golfers. It is pure gold. 🙏🙏😊😊💕💕

    Some of these online instructors have a great concept of the swing, but it gets really technical and hard to understand, much less put into play. This is my new favorite golf channel. Aimee and Manolo are so good and giving you a simple feel or concept rather than a complicated instruction full of lingo.

    Great job Amie, not many coaches talk about the index finger , it's so important, Wayne Defrancico also mentions it quit often! it really set the right tention and pressure in the backswing, Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

    Aimee's swing coaching is pure gold. "Straight back, hinge, turn", "step, turn and follow thru" thoughts have significantly helped my game. Her clear explanations were spot on for me and really unlocked my swing. I almost can't believe how much my compression has improved. Thank you so much Aimee!

    Absolutely spot on. Whenever my swing gets erratic and/or my ball striking becomes inconsistent, the usual culprit is not setting the club at the top. It may seem odd that such a seemingly minor part of the total swing can have that much influence, but it really does. Proper setting at the top makes a huge difference in my ballstriking. Thanks for the reminder Aimee!

    I took up golf in 2016, and have been wrestling with clean consistent iron strikes ever since. Despite lessons and coaching, I’ve struggled to get my rhythm and timing. I’ve been working on this technique with no ball for a few days and today took it up to the range. The first half of my bucket of balls were all over the place, scuffed, topped etc and, not for the first time, I honestly felt I can’t do this anymore, it’s just not enjoyable. Then suddenly the index finger clicked, not only did I feel I had all the time in the world to start my downswing (an illusion I know!) I struck my 6,7 and 8 the furthest, straightest, and most compressed ever. I not only finished the bucket of balls without a single duff, shot, I did a second bucket with more or less the same results. It was honestly effortless. Now, I’m a realist, and am know that next time it may be scrappy again, but I’m playing tomorrow, and will be back on the range Thursday and I’m quietly confident, that now, I’ve at least got a solid, workable swing thought and feel to help!! Thanks Aimee ❤️

    I play with a slightly weak/neutral grip. I actually “need” to feel a slight bowing of the lead wrist. However, I’m glad that you pointed out that there is a chance of injury, if your wrist isn’t used to this. A neutral, or strong grip won’t require this weird feeling “bow”. There are some videos out there that accurately explain how certain grips match up with certain wrist positions. I loved how you described feeling the weight of the club(at the top) in your trail hand index finger. I had never heard that. But it’s true! I had always just tried to point the butt of the club towards the ball/target line. Both feelings will give you the correct “set” that you need. Great, great video.

Question... do you feel that your swing is slowing down before the impact for the club to accelerate just before the impact? Not sure how to demonstrate the feeling, but when I see pro, there is kind of an action of pausing, just before the head club accelerate dramatically.

    How do you feel about Ben Hogan's advice to not get the index finger involved-unless you already have pretty superior ball striking skills? And thanks.

    • @GolfWithAimee
      @GolfWithAimee  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi, I regard Ben Hogan‘s advice as the original “textbook” method for golf. There are a couple things that have been modified due to technology and technique advancements. With the index tip, I believe Ben Hogan already has a very nice support of the club throughout the swing, so he probably didn’t have to pay attention to it. Since he’s so natural at it. However, amateur golfers who don’t know how to compress the ball sometimes needs a thorough guidance on the grip. It always boils down to the same fundamentals. Things need to be explained a little differently, depending on what the golfer is doing. Thanks for a great question ☺️👍

    Great analysis of problematic average non-professional golfers' again. I love your valuable lessons. Aimee. As an average non-professional golfer, I have 2 problems: -
    1) non-consistency swing: I can hit super golf shots 5 out of 10 times. The club face comes into contact with the golf ball in 1/10 of a second. A golf swing involves movement of 200 pieces of bone and 580 pieces of muscles. It is difficult to co-ordinate all bones and muscles in 1/10 of a second. Can you design some training lessons to help us to concentrate on the impact of 1/10 of a second.
    2) Too large a variance. My variance (the gap) is too wide, e.g. I can hit a driver 250 yards on a good swing (40% of time) and 100 yards from a bad swing (30%) either to the right or to the left. A gap of 100 and to the right and to the left is unacceptable to me. Can you design a lesson to help us to narrow the variance of each club, i.e. be more consistent?
    Thank you and I'll continue to be your fan and follower. 😃
