Do those spin numbers also apply to very low club head speed? Would a higher spin help keeping the ball in the air longer and improve carry for those lower CHS ? (I.e. low 70 for ladies )
How could I get my swing reviewed? Ive used the high hands, one plane swing Bryson used and Somax Golf advised. Im one of the golfers with an unorthodox swing yet i hit it far and straight 😂 I have an inconsistent top of the backswing and an inconsistent flying elbow thought
I'm not the golf guru here but if you already hit it long and straight why mess with it? Some of the best professionals to ever play the game had a flying right elbow. If it ain't broke don't try to fix it imo.
@seyacosmoprowertheseedrian2757 Okay, I was responding to your original post about hitting it long and straight so if you made an error in that comment then I agree with you, get some professional help to see what you can do to make things better. You seem fixated on your elbow so be aware that might or might not be part of your problem. Jack Nicklaus and Fred Couples did pretty well with a flying right elbow as have others. See a pro who will work with what you have.
@jerryinsc Yea agreed, Somax is actually controversial but I tried, it actually works pretty well for me. I'm suspecting it could be a struggle to fire my hips and a grip issue. Since I have no idea how to grip the club with my trail hand, any advice I'd love!
In 2013 Taylormade came out with a statement that 17* launch and 1700 rpm backspin were the optimal launch and spin rates to maximize driver distance where previously the industry pushed numbers of 12-14 launch with 2400-2600 spin. What are your thoughts on the 17* launch with 1700 spin recommendation Taylormade and some others have advocated?
I used to feel exactly that after I had a lesson to stop me coming over the top Raymond. As I got more comfortable with the drill & timing of the new swing it goes away. I always thought you had to drop your arms but in reality as you turn your hips, your arms naturally move down and then you can swing more from the inside like Chris shows.
I am not saying for a moment that what Chris states is wrong but for the average 20 hp player it is hard to understand. On the other hands Chris does not cater for high hp players but for good players so I dont blame him. That said I understand why Rick Shiels has 3 milions of subscribers. He teaches golf in a very understandable way so the average golfer can comprehend what he is talking about
every video of Chris that I watched was suitable for low handicap players.I am a 7 hp player and sometime I had difficulties in understanding what he meant, let alone a high hp player
Good timing on the video Chris as trying to figure out my strike pattern on my club face and what I need to work on next.
Only 4 golf teachers I trust : Chris Ryan, Danny Maude, Michelle Low, Georgia Hall ❤.

Great video, Chris. Like the new lab too. Very swish. Merry Xmas to all 🎉🎉🎉
I wish that were my studio!! It’s incredible, but unfortunately only used it for the day…… but making me think about building my own for sure!

@jerryinsc
Cause its inconsistent, I struggle to keep my flying elbow in check and in the same position which means my dispersion is too large

How about changing loft from 9.5 to say 8?

Trackman has long advocated for higher launch with less spin, so this tracks.
Should you feel a little loop when transitioning from back to forward swing

Yes in this drill you are probably going to have those feels, a lot less when you come to the swing though
I'm told I'm too shallow and hit from the inside. I hit pulls and pull draws and still manage to get over 4k spin. Go figure.
Wow that is unusual, could be driver set up or strike location maybe

Silly comment. Chris has lots of great tips for high handicappers. Why would he copy what Rick Shiels has already mastered
