  • (한국어 버전 ➫ • 쫄깃한 손맛 느끼고 싶은 분들, 페이스 ... ) We talked about the lag in the last lesson. Once you start lagging well, you will become lost on how to release the club. The movement right before the release is now improved, it will throw off your release. If you have questions on "why am I slicing," "when should I start releasing," "how do I release," or "what is releasing the club mean?" Then you're at the right place! I will explain what release is and show you an Aimeefied drill to help you release well. Once you start releasing well, you will start to feel the compression at impact, better ball flight, longer distance, and better accuracy. you will be amazed how square you will strike the ball, every single time.

    Really great lesson, can’t wait to work on this at the range. I’ve been working on my lag, in particular getting that trail elbow in front of my body to maintain angles in the downswing but as a result I’ve found that I’m hitting a lot of blocks out to the right. I don’t think any other coach has managed to explain the release in such a simple and understandable way.

    I also started with persimmon woods. I have always had my left hand lead through impact and now see a path visually for proper release. This is the best example of how to and why to I've seen with a easy to implement drill. Thank you for this very understandable breakdown of what has been difficult for me to convert to. Feels like Xmas came early for me. Hope the best for you during the Holidays.

    Just finished episode 6 and I’ve been following your practice tips. I’m 68 years old with lower back issues and flexibility issues so I’m so happy you tell us what we can do to prevent hurting ourselves. Have to say that I’m feeling more comfortable with my irons and can’t wait to get on the driving range. Through your lessons I’m getting more confident about getting on a course and play real golf. Hi Aimee! Thanks for your reply and I wanted you to know how much I appreciate your videos. For others reading these comments, I watched your entire beginner series to get the fundamentals down, then watched the irons series - thinking that it would be easier to hit the irons instead of the longer driver, and then I watched your series on hitting a driver. I watched some videos more than once so that I could use the practice drills to help improve my swing. I may not get a lot of distance but I want to try to hit the ball straight and hopefully gain some accuracy in my shots. If I get that far I'll be really happy. Thanks again for all the great videos and you are such a joy to watch!

    Hi Aimee, from Plymouth in the UK. I've just watched 6 of your videos on the spin and what great context. Is this EP 6 where you teach the post impact position of 45 degs right of target, is this similar to the "In to Out" many talk about? My left hand has definitely been more dominant and have never really thought about the index and setting until now, but I know when I have hit a good shot in the past that's exactly what it feels like. I'm away at the moment so only have a putter to practice my swing with but can feel the difference. PS I'm also enjoying watching your garden project in the background....lol

    Hi Amiee,
    Your content is the best, thank you for making this available. Do you think this method for release is best for those of us who golf lefty, but are right handed? I grew up batting baseballs and playing hockey left handed. I am comfortable using my left trail hand to manipulate its position, but power is derived from the right lead hand. Is this a problem?
    Thank you again for the content you put out! :)

    • @GolfWithAimee
      @GolfWithAimee  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi! Thanks for the question.
      So you’re right-handed, golfing with left-handed clubs. Did I get that right? ☺️
      I have worked with golfers like that, and golfers who are left-handed, but golfs with right-handed clubs. I still teach the same release technique. Leading with the lead hand is totally fine as long as you understand how the trail hand works as well. At the end of the day I really want your hands to be working 50:50. If one hand is overpowering, then the release can be negatively affected by it. Even if your lead hand is your dominant hand, your trail hand should still be trained, and know exactly how to release! Hope this helps clarify things! Thank you 😊

    I appears that your hands have to SLOW DOWN through impact so your clubhead can catch up (from lag to post-impact)
    Is that true?
    I think most people try to accelerate their HANDS through impact, thus the clubhead can’t catch up, and results in an open clubface. No?
    Good stuff, Aimee 👍🏻

    Does anyone really know? I think Aimee is the most correct when it comes to fixing the slice. Hear me out, I can slice the ball swinging my normal slice swing even if I close the face 45 degrees at setup. I can also hook the ball with my face open at setup 45 degrees. Roughly. It’s not the club being open to the path, atleast from my trial and era it’s not. I think it’s the direction the face is moving into the ball. Ie, closing or opening. Because if my face is closed 45 at address if the ball flight laws were correct there’s absolutely no way that I could still manage a fade and vice versa. It’s the twist on the face coupled with the swing direction

NOT a good idea, and a potentially very dangerous presented situation- paying attention or not- on your part! DO NOT DO IT!!!
