      I don’t think they explain this part of any of the factions yet for a reason, they leave it open for interpretation or they’re waiting for a game do you have like the enclave Caesars legion the NCR every like big governmental faction will truly show the colors on, once they find out about a vault vault TEC doesn’t talk about that has so many people so many resources so much that it could fix the waste land, but one of the sections needs to let them out and influence them for their power, and I think the best way to make this story in my opinion would be make each one of the factions make your volt have a failure to where they will need to send somebody out to collect resources or things, and typically and not Bethesda fashion, add many ways to beat the game out a way to make it so you don’t even need any of the factions, because I would love to see a game show how easy it is to manipulate, by using their story to make the person believe and trust these people their first Playthrough and help V very very very last bit until they can’t leave because they want to replay and try to get a better ending and they will learn perception, and intelligence all have their own little types of important play you may have a lot of, you can talk to anybody, of somebody who has a lot of karma and intelligence they can manipulate and lie a lot better that’s my thought but I personally believe fall I should sell IP I believe they will be the reason the game dies

    Still can't say it's justified. Beyond the synth creation, the hydroponics, industrial capacity, and energy production could of been indispensable resources for the brotherhood or commonwealth. The institute was already doing surface tests with plant hybrids that could grow better than preexisting varieties. Also, considering there was FEV stored in the institute, blowing it up seems like it could have potentially dangerous consequences

This is hundreds of years of work destroyed because of one part of it that is considered immoral. Blowing up the entire facility and the hard work in it is not justified. You're a fool (no offense) because you unnecessary risk humanity existence all around the world just after they were at risk of being extinct 200 year ago after the Bomb fell.
      For all we know, humanity could be at War, not against the Institute but against the whole existence of Synth and it could be years. Decades or centuries and humanity be at the mercy of machine one last time.

    Brotherhood 101, from an old ghoul that's been watching them lose their history but roughly keep their tenets since 1997: The two most important questions are 'is this pre-war tech' and 'does it have military implications?' If it was developed post-war (or FOR the war) it's automatically suspicious, as ANYTHING can have military implications to the creative or paranoid, and if it's at a big enough scale it's anathema. They didn't used to be so proactive about it but after their policies towards the Master's Army were proven so wrong the next century saw a period of increasing contact with the wasteland coupled with a century-long organizational decay. It really seems to have left some scars.

    When you put it like that. The brotherhood doesn’t really have a special task in mind because for events like attacking the Institute, they could have easily just broke in, killed those that resisted and took the underground base for its teleportation technology at least or to find ways of making organs for the disabled as well as bionics. I think personally that the brotherhood is basically useless with their goals because they throw away opportunities that would make themselves stronger and more successful and if there’s any faction that’s successfully with captured technology as well as creating new ones was the Enclave. I don’t like the Enclave because they’re stereotypically evil like the Institute but I do have to give them credit, they were good at what they did.

    The BoS could have used the tech but I think the writers couldn’t fit in the possibility of whatever faction you side with taking over the resources of the Institute. So it falls to us to imagine why the BoS specifically would destroy the facility. The institute was kidnapping, killing and replacing people, really for almost no reason at all. If they needed people on the surface for information collection they could just keep sending coursers and Gen 3 synths without killing and replacing anyone. And then they could have started introducing the new, beneficial tech on the surface. But they never seemed aimed to improve the world. The institute needed to be destroyed, but unfortunately it couldn’t be written in for another faction to take over their facility. In a perfectly written game, the BoS goes in and destroys the institute’s ability to fight, and then absorbs their scientists and continues the research.

      I feel like you people don’t even have familiarity with the sources you cite. If you ever gone through the original Maxson holotapes, you can see that the BoS always had a minor anti-intellectual streak.
      Maxson not only executes the scientists, he even refers to them as “eggheads”. That reveals a lot about his mindset. At the end of the day, though he’s deified and revered as the founder, he was basically just a really charismatic and brave jarhead. A soldier first.
      The Brotherhood’s whole organizational arc can be defined by a conflict and tension between intellectualism and preservation of knowledge/tech vs. anti-intellectualism and restriction of knowledge/tech
      This is exemplified by the way Paladins seem to always be bickering and arguing with scribes.

  • @uberd3323
    @uberd3323 2 года назад +1

    Its still stupid that they blew up the institute because all they needed to do was disable the synth machine and then they would have had a ton of new tech and a pretty secure new lab (after fixing the ceiling). The Vault Dweller single-handedly destroyed Mariposa because it only existed to create FEV mutants, and John Henry Eden’s self destruction is what destroyed Raven Rock. There is literally no good reason for any of the anti-Institute factions to destroy it because the Teleporter tech alone would instantly make all of their jobs easier.

    What I don’t get about the BoS in the commonwealth is that destroying the institute really doesn’t fulfill their original goal because they’ve twisted and perverted it through the years. The Institute was probably the most advanced organization in the wasteland save for the Think Tank of Big MT.
    They were self sustaining in virtually every way possible and had technology that could’ve revived the world, but oh no they had robots that looked like people.
    The Brotherhood didn’t see any of the other technology, they saw a loaded gun that they couldn’t figure out how to use, so they destroyed it.

The institute has enormously beneficial technology but the BoS don't consider it technology in need of preservation because its not pre war and so can probably just be made again. I think they believe that, because some technology was made pre war, the knowledge and schematics required to make it would also be pre war, hence the need for preservation. Its not necessarily about the importance of the technology, or the beneficial nature of it, perhaps just the time period and the restraints of its construction
