The 1972 Dolphins were no fluke. No team ever did in a single season, in history, what they did. And I'm not taking about going undefeated. Number 1 in Offense Number 1 in Defense Number 1 in Points Scored Number 1 in Fewest Points Allowed Number 1 in Special Teams Number 1 in Most Takeaways (Turnovers) Number 1 in Fewest Giveaways (Turnovers) Least Penelized Team Greatest Rushing Attack in NFL History 3,000 yards in a 14 game season THEY WERE A MACHINE I would put them up against any team in history. In 1973, they were even better than 1972, winning another SuperBowl. In those 2 years there record was 32-2, a winning percentage of 94.12% Throw in 1974 & there record was 43-5. a winning percentage of 90.0% From 1971 to 1974 there record was 55-9 a winning percentage of 86.0% with 3 Super Bowl appearances. No one comes close!
Shula always defended his decision to not put Unitas in at halftime of Super Bowl III and leave Morrall in the game, yet in '72 with that exact same set of circumstances with Morrall and Griese, he benched Morrall and put Griese in the game...and won lol To me, this was always proof that if he had it to do over Shula would have put Unitas in earlier in Super Bowl III and the Colts (who knows lol) maybe don't lose that one after all.
Saw that team beat the Oilers that year in the Orange Bowl before Griese injury. Shula said the ‘73 team was better, they cruised through playoffs and dominated Purple People Eaters in SB VIII. Then Czonka, Kiick , Warfield go to failed WFL.
This video is fantastic…but the music is FANTASTIC!

They MIGHT be a 10 win team in today's NFL . . . maybe!
Well I’d hope so… they’re all over 50
@@thedarkfrost2351more like 75
@@thedarkfrost2351 If you took the '72 Dolphins and transported them to today's NFL, 8 of 11 for 88 yards - in the Super Bowl - wouldn't cut it!
