Great job Breanna. I was born in Newark, NJ in 1952. My parents moved to Miami when I was 3 yrs old. I became a DOLPHAN their first year (1968, and I was 13 yrs old) and they were absolutely awful, but it didn't matter to me because the city finally had an NFL team. When Shula signed to coach the team I knew this team would raise some hell in the league, and boy did they ever. Again, you did a fine job putting this together. It brought back memories, and although I no longer live in Florida the Miami Dolphins remain my HOME team, and I root for them every game.
I remember being a kid in Oregon we all loved the Miami dolphins , this team is the best of all time ,great absolutely great running back trio, with Bob griese, a defense that could hit you solid, I love this team and era
I was 13 in '70 when Shula came to town...I still remember his Introductory press conference...some reporter asked Shula what kind of coach he was and Shula replied "I'm about as subtle as a punch in the nose".
He changed over the years didn't he? Went totally away from power football with Marino which always cost them in the playoffs and the one Super Bowl Marino got to
Mark Muffs a little bit of trivia, 16 of the 17 games were televised by NBC sports, the one that wasn't was a Monday night game against the St. Louis Cardinals (ABC SPORTS)
I'll never forget Griese getting his ankle broken and Earl coming in to relieve Griese. He takes them to 14-0. Griese comes back in time to start for the 1st playoff game. Earl didn't play another game. 17-0......thanku coach and team.
I love what Larry Little they were so good they didn't make a big deal about it not like teams today that are not good and make a big deal about a play they make in the first half
Great video!! The greatest team in the history of football. No one had done it before and no one has done it since. They also had the greatest three year run of any team. 32-2 over two years which has never been matched. 44-6-1 over three years which is still a record. 31 straight home victories which is still a record and has never really been approached. No other team has gone to three straight Super Bowls while winning two of them. They won the AFC Championship Game in Pittsburgh against a group of players that would go on to win four Super Bowls. I could go on...
What a historic deep roster this team had and truly yes with Earl Morrall a back up QB led the Dolphins to 9 or 10 of those 17 wins no team could ever do it with a back up QB which makes this feat all the more impressive.I am proud to be a Dolphins fan went to my first Dolphins home game on October 23,2022 against the Steelers was worth flying from Hilo,HI and I really enjoyed the museum that honored the greatest TEAM in NFL history they were perfect in every aspect such an unselfish group of men that sacrificed self for Team that’s why this feat may never happen again because of the astronomical salaries these players make today and most teams don’t want to risk injuries once they clinch a playoff berth and will sit their starters.Only Bill Belichick truly knows the importance of this feat is why he pushed so hard to get it and fell just short of what only the great Don Shula has accomplished.
Randy Kuleszasr I still remember the year before vs Colts in playoffs. My Mom Dad and I at the supper table that Sunday PM. Watched Dick Anderson in the greatest pick six I’ve ever seen. Those blocks !
I was born in1970 in Florida so I'm a Dolphin fan still a fan I like for us to win one more SB before I get to old to really enjoy football GO finns (#FINUP)
Man oh man! I was at the San Diego game at the Orange Bowl when Griese went down (as well as two other games that year). I'll never forget my mother sitting next to me rocking back and forth going, "Oh no, oh no!" watching him rolled off the field. But fortune shined. Earl Moral became the greatest backup QB in history. We've had a few ups and lots of downs since then, but last week a new era began in Miami... IT'S TUA TIME! Let the new dynasty begin! Phins forever!
I loved this team so much. When my parents became citizens, they asked. What name do you want to go by. Dad from Francesco to Frank, my mom Rozalia to Rose. I as a 14 year old wanted the name Mercury, however that didn't happen
Congratulations on a Job Well Done. This record will stand forever. Teams now have too many "Individuals" who care about Money instead of their teammates.
This team was as good as it gets! Today the teams that are undefeated late in the year always blow it! This Miami team had a tough AFC playoff run, but still managed to win, and win the championship in Pittsburgh!
Thank you for the video! This video should be shown to each Dolphins team at the beginning of each year. Because that's what it means to wear the Dolphins uniform (btw, best unis ever!)
No the ones from the 70s thru the Shula era were the best. There were a few minor changes but overall they were pretty much the same. Even from the Jimmy Johnson years up until a few years ago the unis still looked enough like the originals. Then they went and came up with the stupid swimming dolphin and took alot of the orange out 8f the uni and lightened up the aquamarine color
THE DAYS OF THE POWER FULLBACK BEING DOMINANT! I MISS SMASH MOUTH FOOTBALL AS THAT'S THE WAY WE PLAYED IN THE DAY! CSONKA IS DEFINITELY ONE OF MY FAVES AS WAS JIM TAYLOR, BILL BROWN.
This team really is the best ever and in more ways than one. They are still the only team to win the Super Bowl and be Ranked No.1 in all 4 of the major team Rankings---Pts. Scored, Yds. Gained, Pts. Given Up, and Yds. Given Up. They were No.1 in all 4, so that adds up to only 4 total. The avg. S.B. winner adds up to 27 or 28.
The 2011 Giants were the worst S.B. winner ever adding up to 69. Eli Manning also led the 3rd worst ever to a S.B. win--the '07 Giants nadded up to 54. Joe Flacco and the Ravens in 2012 were the 2nd worst with a total of 55.
I think the '69 K.C. Chiefs were the 2nd best ever--they added up to 7. Also, sorry Tom Brady--the '01 Pats also added up to 55, so they tie the '12 Ravens for 2nd worst. One other note--Jim Kelly had 2 Bills teams in the S.B. in '91 and '93 that were OFFICIALLY Ranked 27th (next-to-last) on Defense and Kurt Warner had a Defense that gave up 426 pts. but were in the '08 S.B.
Dolphins would have had to play in pittsburgh for the afc title game in 74 if they had won the sea of hands game vs the raiders. It should be remembered that swann, stallworth and lambert were all rookies in 74 and all played key roles in their 24-13 defeat of oakland at alameda coliseum in the 74 afc championship. Miami beat pittsburgh in 71, 72, and 73 but the steeler dynasty roster was not complete until 74. Mike Webster was also a rookie in 74 but unlike the other 3 aforementioned players did not play against the raiders in the steelers 24-13 win, not supplanting ray mansfield as the starting center until the 76 season. In the dolphins victories vs the steelers in 71, 72 and 73 it should also be noted that their defense did not fare particularly well while Bradshaw was playing in those games. Jake Scott likely would not have been ready to go vs pittsburgh along with curtis johnson as well. The steel curtain allowed all of 29 yards rushing vs oakland in the afc title game. Also of note is the fact that Vince Costello was running the defense and not Bill Arnsparger. Tough to see how Miami could have won at three rivers minus 2 starters in the secondary and playing on the road. I would predict a close loss. The shame was that 74 was the last year the home sites were rotated amongst the divisions. Under the system used today the first round would have seen buffalo at oakland and pittsburgh at miami. A first round that year at the orange bowl and going in with a healthy scott and johnson I would predict a dolphins win. Then a trip to oakland and if they stay healthy they likely win that too. Then a 3 peat vs the vikings in new orleans. Bottom line is the current seeding system would have resulted in pittsburgh at miami to determine just who would have been the team of the 70's. I'm betting it would have been miami.
Bill Arnsparger was the only Defensive coach to record 2 shut outs in the AFC Championship game in 2 Different decades , 1971 - 1982 . He REBUILT THE NO NAMES into the Killer Bs , Don Shula , failed to REBUILD The Rushing game in the 1980s , Had they had a good ground game , they might have won SB - 17 or SB - 19 although their defensive line was fast at 250 - 265lbs they were getting pushed around by the bigger Offensive lines of the early 1980s negating their quickness by being manhandled so that and the run game was their Achilles heel .
Shula said that when he wanted to bring Eral Morrall onto the team with a $75K contract that team owner Joe Roby told him hell no I'm not paying a backup QB that much but Shula convinced him they needed him and Roby relented. Without him there probably would have never been a perfect season. But make no mistake, the Steelers had the Dolphin's offense shut down in the AFC Championship game until Shula put Griese in to start the 2nd half.
Yeah when they get a good ownerand GM. The jury is still out on your new coach who is from the belichick coaching tree and you know how those coaches including seemingly Matt Patricia work out.

The season didn't mean crap until they won the Super Bowl. People gave them zero respect throughout that season because of their schedule and that's why they were underdogs going into the Super Bowl. The AFC was still looked at as overall inferior.
This is a great observation- the AFC was weaker than the NFC in 1970 and 1972 and even though Baltimore did win it in 1970 they were considered as part of the old NFL. The 1972 Dolphins signaled a changing of the Guard, with them the Steelers and Raiders it took until the 1977 season for an NFC team to win a Super Bowl
Mercury Morris,...Was so fast & with Unbelievable Moves,...He was Far ahead of the Times & teamed wit, Csonka, Kick, !!!,.. They saw 73 team was better then 72,...& Unfortunately Stabler got that off in Sea a Hands, in 74,...Believe Dolphins Would a Been 1st, to 3 Peat, & Still Hold that Record Today !!!!
GM Joe Thomas set up the players. But with Shula coming, it was understood that Shula would be GM. But coach Monte Clark was the guy who brought Jim Langer and traded veteran Bob DeMarco. The chemistry of him and Bob Kuechenberg really launched the 3 headed monster.
50 Years and The Miami Dolphins are still the only Undefeated Team In NFL History! 17-0 Fins Up! Miami Dolphins are winning the Super Bowl This Year Watch! Tua and the rest of the team are going to shut the haters up! Mark my words!
So many teams try to go undefeated The '84' 49ers The '85' Bears The '07' Patriots The '10' Colts The '11' Packers The '15' Panthers The one thing reason why they had that lost they where to confint to easliy relaxed to win and they choked but these '72' Dolphins had to stay focus to beat every team to make them puke out blood and vomit meaning they will not beat
I remember the 84 Dolphins were 11-0 before finally losing their first game in OT to San Diego. The 49ers had the best record in the league, overall and in the regular season, but they had lost before the Dolphins. Miami went 16-0 that year against teams that weren't from the state of California, but 0-3 against teams that were.
@@filthyswitI'm not salty. What I said was true the record he had against those guys speaks for itself. But in 84 he did have to face Montana and the 49ers and pretty much the same thing happened. But I will tell you I would rather that those Marino Dolphins or the Kelly Bills were the ones winning the 6 Super Bowls for the AFC east rather than the cheaters in New England. I hope now that Brady is gone that they are at least no better than mediocre for the rest of Belichicks career. At least the Dolphins and their coach had class except for maybe Bryan Cox. But even he was that way because earlier in his career he didn't have control over his emotions and for some reason Shula couldn't bring him under control. Neither could Dave Wannstadt in Chicago. It took Cox playing first for Parcells with the Jets and then Belichick (one of the few things that Belichick can be admired for)for him to channel those emotions solely on playing and not flying off the handle. I never could figure out why Shula was never able to get him to channel all that energy because he was one of those coaches who was the best at it.
@@mm-gl7sz I agree about the Pats of course. Anybody but them. As for Miami's competition in 1984: 31 and 45 points against Pittsburg's defense which was ranked 5th in the league. 34 points and over 500yds against the 3rd ranked Raider's D. 31 points and over 400yds against Seattle's 6th ranked D. 28 points and almost 400yds against the Cowboys 7th ranked D in a must-win for the Cowboys. 44 and 28 points against the Pats 9th ranked D 7 games (not including the SB) against teams with top 10 ranked defenses and they averaged 34.4 points per game. Explain.
It's so easy the formula. TEAM ! We were perfect with a back-up quarterback playing part of the season.....and still were perfect ! TEAM ! Thank you Shoes !!! I miss you.
AS AN AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE FAN AND A NEW YORK JETS FAN I WAS DELIGHTED WITH THE JETS 16-7 SUPER BOWL WIN OVER BALTIMORE. BUT AS 2 OR 3 MONTHS PAST , THERE WAS A STRANGE FEELING. THE A.F.L. AND THE JETS HAD FULFILLED MY DREAMS, SO I NEEDED ANOTHER CHALLENGE. A NEW TEAM TO ROOT FOR. THE A.F.L. WEST WAS TOO TOUGH. THE OILERS, BILLS AND PATRIOTS HAD ALREADY WON EAST DIVISION TITLES. I LOVED THE MIAMI DOLPHINS UNIFORMS ! THEY HAD NEVER BEATEN THE JETS. "FLIPPER" HAD BEEN ONE OF MY FAVORITE TV SHOWS, SO I BEGAN READING ABOUT AND WATCHING THE DOLPHINS IN 1969. THE 20-20 TIE WITH THE UNDEFEATED OAKLAND RAIDERS WAS MY HIGH POINT. MY FANTASY OF THE DOLPHINS BECAME REALITY WHEN DON SHULA, MONTE CLARK, PAUL WARFIELD, JAKE SCOTT, JIM MANDICH ARRIVED. OTHER THAN SUPER BOWL 3, MIAMI'S 21-0 A.F.C. 1972 CHAMPIONSHIP IS MY FAVORITE GAME. THE DOLPHINS MADE ME A BIG FAN OF THE GIANTS WHO HAVE TWICE SAVED THE DOLPHINS 1972 UNBEATEN SEASON WITH WINS OVER DENVER AND NEW ENGLAND. BUT THE 24-3 LOSS TO DALLAS IN SUPER BOWL 6 STILL HURTS BAD. !!
Critics like to argue the '72 Dolphins had a weak schedule, playing only three games against teams that ended up with a winning record, but consider these facts: 1. They played the Chiefs in an epic playoff game the year before and had them on the '72 schedule. Who knew they would be bad in '72? 2. They had a career backup, 38-year-old quarterback most of that season in Earl Morrall after Griese went down. 3. There was no home field advantage for the AFC title game. Miami had to win IN PITTSBURGH! The biggest regret I have about that Super Bowl was Shula got greedy. He wanted to win that game 17=0 to finish 17-0. Garo was kicking low line drives all day and was attempting a long FG. Shula should have had Seiple punt. Even if it's a touchback, there would be less than two minutes, and Washington did not have all its time outs. They needed two scores. The No-Name defense would have shut the Redskins down as it had all afternoon. So Miami would have had, to date, the only Super Bowl shutout, 14-0 instead of 17-0.
The biggest break the Dolphins got that year was when Oakland got eliminated by the Immaculate Reception. Oakland matched up with Miami better than anyone else in the NFL. A Dolphin-Raider conference championship game would have been a dead even matchup. Miami had less pressure on them in 1973, however, and avenged an early season loss to Oakland by defeating them pretty easily in the AFC Championship game that year.
From 1970 through 1974 (5 seasons), Miami was 65-14-1 including the playoffs. Before 1970, Miami was 15-39-2 between 1966 and 1969. All thanks to Don Shula.

I am not sure if this was already mentioned, but Don Shula was the coach in half of the first 8 SBs.
I remember being a kid in Oregon we all loved the Miami dolphins , this team is the best of all time ,great absolutely great running back trio, with Bob griese, a defense that could hit you solid, I love this team and era
Much respect to these older guys that paved the way for football as we know today 💯🏈 I love the work ethic they had
The NFL of today is a joke you can't hit anybody without drawing a flag

RIP Shula, My all time favorite coach.
I was 12, can remember that season forever.
I was 13 in '70 when Shula came to town...I still remember his Introductory press conference...some reporter asked Shula what kind of coach he was and Shula replied "I'm about as subtle as a punch in the nose".
He changed over the years didn't he? Went totally away from power football with Marino which always cost them in the playoffs and the one Super Bowl Marino got to
Mercury came with the bars!! 💯💯 🔥 🔥
Sure love to find all 14 games plus the playoffs on DVD.
is anything like that available?!!!
Mark Muffs a little bit of trivia, 16 of the 17 games were televised by NBC sports, the one that wasn't was a Monday night game against the St. Louis Cardinals (ABC SPORTS)
Mark Muffs I’m sure u can find it with a google search.
Hell Yeah That's Our Phins!!!..
I Got to meet m.morris back in 94 One of the Coolest things Ever!.
I'll never forget Griese getting his ankle broken and Earl coming in to relieve Griese. He takes them to 14-0. Griese comes back in time to start for the 1st playoff game. Earl didn't play another game. 17-0......thanku coach and team.
1972 Miami Dolphins. Simply the Best. Better than all the rest.
I love what Larry Little they were so good they didn't make a big deal about it not like teams today that are not good and make a big deal about a play they make in the first half
Great video! Dolphins are still the only team to win every game and the Super Bowl in history! Greatest team ever!
Go Dolphins!
The dolphins are fantastic

Greatest team ever......in any sport. Talent, Teamwork, no ego.....
Jim Woodle too bad their best coach left
I was born that year and I know it takes Hunger, Hate and Hustle to do what they did! WiN it All.
Nope patriots are better

born and raised in Miami ,went to several of these games, I remember all the horns honking after we won the superbowl
What makes this season more impressive is their starting QB got injured and the back up went in and they still won the rest of their games.
What a historic deep roster this team had and truly yes with Earl Morrall a back up QB led the Dolphins to 9 or 10 of those 17 wins no team could ever do it with a back up QB which makes this feat all the more impressive.I am proud to be a Dolphins fan went to my first Dolphins home game on October 23,2022 against the Steelers was worth flying from Hilo,HI and I really enjoyed the museum that honored the greatest TEAM in NFL history they were perfect in every aspect such an unselfish group of men that sacrificed self for Team that’s why this feat may never happen again because of the astronomical salaries these players make today and most teams don’t want to risk injuries once they clinch a playoff berth and will sit their starters.Only Bill Belichick truly knows the importance of this feat is why he pushed so hard to get it and fell just short of what only the great Don Shula has accomplished.
i remember, i was just 21 yrs old, and every one on that team was the greatest, they were all my idle, no team will ever match them

Randy Kuleszasr I still remember the year before vs Colts in playoffs. My Mom Dad and I at the supper table that Sunday PM. Watched Dick Anderson in the greatest pick six I’ve ever seen. Those blocks !
My elementary school library had the "perfect season" book and I borrowed it every time i could !!! 🐬🏈🌞🐬17 - 0 my favorite team ever 72'
1972 dolphins was a strong fast team 17-0 you got to love it!!!!
I hope your hope for Tua comes true. The questions about his concussions threaten to undo your expectations. I hope something changes that.
I'm still waiting for that dynasty to start...
Mercury Morris the rapper cracks me up. Rap music wasn't even a thing when he was playing!
I loved this team so much. When my parents became citizens, they asked. What name do you want to go by. Dad from Francesco to Frank, my mom Rozalia to Rose. I as a 14 year old wanted the name Mercury, however that didn't happen
What diiiid happen?
I want, no I NEED that Mercury Morris rap at the end on mp3!
Went to Pittsburgh and beat the Steelers ...nuff said. Miss that team so much!
Exactly, and they shouldn't have had to do that
'72 DOLPHINS ( Perfection )!
Absolutely loved this! I was a young child growing up in south Florida then, and that magical season cemented my life long dedication. Instant follow!
I was there. Great memories from the Orange Bowl.

19:10 the moving cart with the Dolphin is so funny
greates team in history. theyll come back soon enough.
Yeah when they get a good ownerand GM. The jury is still out on your new coach who is from the belichick coaching tree and you know how those coaches including seemingly Matt Patricia work out.
I was at Palmetto Jr High when the Great Fins went Undefeated. Family members used to drive to Orlando during the blackout games. I was always in trouble,so I couldn't go 🤪

great documentary ...yup downloaded it to my collection...
The season didn't mean crap until they won the Super Bowl. People gave them zero respect throughout that season because of their schedule and that's why they were underdogs going into the Super Bowl. The AFC was still looked at as overall inferior.
What was real special was they went undefeated with a backup QB most of the season
4 practices a day. That is insane. No wonder why there were so good.

We will never know how great they really were that year because they never lost
So many teams try to go undefeated
The '84' 49ers
The '85' Bears
The '07' Patriots
The '10' Colts
The '11' Packers
The '15' Panthers
The one thing reason why they had that lost they where to confint to easliy relaxed to win and they choked but these '72' Dolphins had to stay focus to beat every team to make them puke out blood and vomit meaning they will not beat
The pats went 18-0 and won more games. The dolphins played against bums they never faced a playoff team in the regular season.
but lost the super bowl

No doubt. The greatest team of all time
One of my friends dad was the middle linebacker on that team I think he was backup of 3rd string
Well in 84 Marino didn't have to face Bruce Smith Cornelius Bennett or Jim Kelly and co
@@mm-gl7sz Wow, you're a salty one aren't ya?
As for Miami's competition in 1984:
31 and 45 points against Pittsburg's defense which was ranked 5th in the league.
34 points and over 500yds against the 3rd ranked Raider's D.
31 points and over 400yds against Seattle's 6th ranked D.
28 points and almost 400yds against the Cowboys 7th ranked D in a must-win for the Cowboys.
44 and 28 points against the Pats 9th ranked D
7 games (not including the SB) against teams with top 10 ranked defenses and they averaged 34.4 points per game. Explain.
It will never be done again🏈 That was the best ‘team ever.

Excellent.
RIP Jim Kiick
My favorite. And bill stanfill you never hear about
Everybody forgets, or doesn't know, that despite being undefeated, Miami had to travel to Pittsburgh for the AFC championship game.
Critics like to argue the '72 Dolphins had a weak schedule, playing only three games against teams that ended up with a winning record, but consider these facts:
The other teams were crappy BECAUSE they played the Dolphins!
The 1972 Chiefs finished 8-6, below expectations, but I can't really consider it bad.
