Kam was literally the Boom the LOB was named after.
Steelers fan in Hawks country, people who did not watch the Hawks on a regular basis (as I am forced to do) may not agree but K.J. 100% nailed it. Kam was the engine that made the whole thing work, I 100% agree. Most Seahawks fans will agree with this. Out here in the PNW we all know it. Kam was THE MAN.

Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril, Bruce Irvin, Brandon Browner, and KJ Wright are also beasts on that same defense, its crazy how talented they where

"There can be only one." You're damn right! Kam was the heart and soul of the LOB. His career's (if not for injury)a no brainer for the HOF. I feel the same about Earl... hopefully, the voters don't look at how it ended. The man in appearance was small but, he stood among his peers a giant. He played every down like it was a goalline defense. I loved watching this defense play. They were hard and fast and when they tackled they swarmed to the ball... that's why they dominated in the "give away/take away". It's crazy to think, "What could've been..." if it weren't for one mistake/miscall. They were on the cusp of Back-To-Back Super Bowl wins and they were humming like a well oiled machine. Then, because of one play everything changed... you could see it and feel it almost immediately. They could've been remembered like the 90's era Dallas Cowboys but, the Seattle Seahawks of that era were among the best.
Earl Thomas should be a first-ballot. HIs resume is insane... 7 Pro Bowls, 3 First-Teams, 2010s All-Decade Team. Undisputedly the best of his era.

As a Seattle fan I loved this segment. Gave me such an insight to what it was to be inside one of the best defenses of all time. K.J Wright was a monster himself as well though! One of the best weak side LBs I’ve ever seen

After some reflection, I can't be mad at KJ's picks. Bennett and Avril benefited from Mebane's play. Sherm could have ranked higher if quarterbacks threw to his side if the field, but didn't because he was the prototype for true lockdown corners. ET at three...only because Bobby is rightfully two. Kam was the enforcer as well as the glue.
During their time in the spotlight, any player on the Legion of Boom defenses could have started and starred on any other team, and likely won All-Pro accolades. Having so many studs in one corral makes it hard to pick out one, or a few, to honor.
Bambam my favorite Seahawk ever. Dude is a legend!

Kam was and became the boom with all his hit sticks. But if you were there to see the emergence of the LOB the biggest first hit came from Brandon Browner. That’s when our defense felt like it was going towards smash mouth football.
It shows you how good the defense was when Malcolm Smith was the MVP of the Super Bowl they won 43-8. He was the 3rd best linebacker behind Bobby and KJ.

I’ve bought two Seahawks jerseys ever. Kam Chancellor and Marshawn Lynch. To me they were the engines on each side of that Super Bowl squad. Lynch made the offense move and Kam made the defense STOP!!!

I have no problem with his ranking of 1-4. Bam Bam was the BOOM of Legion of Boom. Earl, Sherm and Bobby are all 1st ballot guys but I doubt either one would have a problem with Kam #1.

Agree with 1-4 for sure! Bam Bam was the BOOM in the LOB! Mebane was Def up there. Hard not to talk about KJ, Bennett and Avril Def were up there.

Hit him so hard he broke a couple ribs and one almost punctured Gronk’s lung, causing him to miss the rest of the game

To everyone saying Legion of Boom was only the secondary, yes it was marketed that way but similar to Purple People Eaters, Grits Blitz, NY Sack Exchange, Killer B’s (Dolphins not Steelers) etc etc etc eventually every discussion goes to the periphery “underrated” players on those same defenses that weren’t part of the original name sake position group. About the only teams you can’t say that about are the D’s that got nicknames for the whole group like Steel Curtain, Orange Crush, or Monsters of the Midway.
Very few named groups keep only at their position. Hogs exclusively means that Redskins OL. The Triplets is Aikman, Smith, and Irvin. But those are rare examples.
The LOB is the greatest defense of all time!!!!! Those other defenses all played without the rules the LOB had to play under.

How would you put anyone besides Bam Bam at the top - it's the Legion of BOOM because he brought the boom! Love seeing the respect KJ has for everyone, and the insiders view of what made the whole system work. Truth is, every one of those guys made every one else better, Lifting Our Brothers! and that's why it was the best defense of all time. 4 years straight of leading the league in scoring defense, what more is there to say?!

Brandon Browner is a forgotten name he was the guy that took Sherm under his wing those first couple years and turned him into the HOFer he is today

What does he mean he doesn't know if Erol Thomas makes the HOF. He will make it before anyone else. He had 7 pro bowls, 3 first teams and 2 2nd team. I would have the same ranking 1-4 as KJ Wright but sub MEbane out with Bennett or Brandon Browner but Browner was only there for a year.

KJ Being political because he was #5 for being the brains of the LOB. He was the one telling people where the play was going, HE was the one that was always right and getting people lined up before the play. Love Bobby But KJ was the brains Wags was the tackling machine Earl was the determination Kam was the BOOM and Sherman was the shut down.
