Coach opens up about his 50 years of coaching and how he found his philosophy over the years.
KJ shares his free agency story when he was in a dark place and how Coach reached out to him to offer support. Coach also shares how he maintains competition and how he believes that the new era of Seahawks football has already began.
The guys also ask coach about his lowest point in the aftermath of Super Bowl 49 and how he overcame it.

Seahawks make it to NFC championship this year.
Seahawks have a winning season with some tremendous highs, but some lows too. For sure we make a playoff run, but am not quite sure we can take it all the way. I think the receivers will be a standout group to watch.
This is the holy grail of all interviews. When fans see Pete Carroll on a podcast they just go nuts.

Truth! The reason I love KJ’s interviews is that it feels like you’re in the building and hearing stuff that doesn’t usually make it out to the media. KJ is able to bond on any subject with his interviewees and draw their deepest insights out of them. Thanks to you and Gee for doing what you do! Football may be the starting point but there are so many life lessons in KJ All Day! It’s like weekly therapy 🤩

Doug, Kam, and Bobby were the ‘7s’ Pete was talking about.
Those were my top three candidates as well. He was literally describing Bobby's career arc when listing traits and aspects of the archetypal SEVEN. Watch KJ's expression during that sequence. Here's hoping "KJ All Day" remains a feature for a few years, as Bobby's best wingman takes flight. His stint on GMFB surely pulled good numbers, based on what we observed.

Watching a second time. We need more. Need future interviews with Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Bruce Irvin, Geno Smith, Marcus Trufant. Trufant played under Holmgren and Carroll would love to hear him talk about the difference between the two.

Pete should be a motivational speaker after he retires. His whole philosophy speaks to how you should be in life, generally, to be successful.
One of the number 7’s on the scale is Geno for sure. He describes exactly how Geno’s mindset is. Can’t wait for Sept 10th!

The pain in our hearts will probably never heal. I remember the pain of that day like it happened yesterday. I remember seeing the anguish on Richard Sherman’s face. It’s great to see the new Hawks and have the excitement back. I feel like we have something special on the horizon.
Always remember Hawk fans, if it wasn’t real love for our team then it wouldn’t hurt so bad. ❤️

Pete's energy is unbelievable. He projects a mindset and a focus that is highly inspiring and motivating. So modest and principled.
The last part when he said he wants his players to know he cares the most about helping them be all they can, to develop them. That was my favorite part.

As someone else said, KJ has carried his work preparation from the field off the field and us fans are the beneficiaries. It's good too see that Pete's taking all interviews did the Sherman on for the Volume, now the KJ one and some others and answering all the tough questions about the past not that he has to or that it even matters now but he is open to it and clearing the air once and for all so those old wounds are done over it completely to rest and the fans wanna hear it too so we can put this thing (The Play) to rest and go on and win another one maybe this year.

I'm a WSU alum and as much as we all loved to hate the CA teams I was always a little jealous when I looked over at USC's coach- just seeing how much passion and love he had for the game and wishing we could have that kind of leader and success. So when I heard Pete Carroll was going to be the new coach of my Seahawks I was so jacked, I just had a good feeling about the new chapter that he was leading the team to. I knew he was special but I never imagined he'd still be here 13 years later getting ready to lead another wave of Seahawks dominance. It's coming I can feel it!! good stuff KJ, Gee and Pete. As Pete's senior (I'm 2 weeks older), I love his enthusiasm for the game and for life. But above all it's his respect for his - and the players and all those around him - humanity.
For all the insight and hindsight bubbling to the surface, the genuine moment of clarity for this Patera Era Kingdome kid (Hazen High, Renton) was when Coach dropped the sort of truth bomb that explains SO much : as a competitor, he's most like ET. "It's not going to heal until you win another one" coming from GC came a close second. Subscribed at the start, tentatively hoping the focus would stay real, based on KJ's local rep among folks back in the old neighborhood (VMAC area). No longer feelin' tentative, KJ. You & G are on the right track, stay true to the vision. Don't let the "offers" probably already starting to show up on your desk distract and keep your eyes on the prize. Very little of what we'll call "reality" escapes the media bubble around the league and teams, which makes your work all the more valuable to those of us who've seen how the sausage is made (HS, PAC, NFL).
