@Warframe4thewin !!! It's more to do with the vagueness of the statement. That is quite a big statement for Toyotaro to say and to not elaborate is quite surprising.
Congratulations on the 4th place!!! Toro and company clarify that they were writing themselves in a corner with Goku and Vegeta. So they are trying to find ways to level up MUI Goku like Super Saiyan. I'm fine with that. As long as they don't water down Goku too much. Same with Vegeta in his new form. I'm fine with a tie or Granolah eventually coming to his senses and Vegeta making him realize the true villain is not them.
@@sirsavvier7728 I do too! For them to have more Namekians roaming the stars is enticing. I would just like more clarification on the first Namekians outside Zalama. But hey! At least we got more lore.
Namekians originally not being from U6 or U7 could be a blessing in disguise for their development/lore. If you think about it Z left Piccolo and Kamis origins unexplored and a mystery. If the Namekians not being from U6 or U7 will lead to an explanation about Piccolo and Kamis origins, how the Namekians in U7 where seperated and possibly a power up for Piccolo I welcome this concept all day 💯
For the Namekian part, remember a few chapters ago that Elder Morie was giving a lesson on their history, and he states that “Namekians originated from another realm entirely”. So maybe they did come from Zalama and the realm of the gods. (Which could also mean big things for Piccolo.)
Toriyama's art is distinct not just from the style but because he reuses specific details in his designs. Just compare characters and creatures from Dragon Ball to Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger
I like how the Toyotaro interview gave us more information on how Toyotaro and Toriyama work together on Super. I also liked the contrast between the design of the Cerealians and the Saiyans. I like how the Cerealians are more of a peaceful race that focuses more on survival.
I honestly think master and student not meshing all the time is a GOOD thing. It means Toyotaro still has growth in regards to his creativity and skills that Toriyama is nurturing. You can spend all your life on something and still have room to improve, and in regards to art its often said the moment you are satisfied completely is the moment you stop being an artist. I'm sure Toriyama has scrapped his own ideas and had bad ideas in the past and the two bumping things off each other can only lead to a better dragon ball as time goes on.
Having a good editor definitely helped Toriyama during the creation of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z too. Could you imagine if Z had Android 19 and Android 20 as the big bads of the arc? That would’ve been rather dull.
When Monaito was introduced i mused to myself that the Namekians might have been nomads for quite some time. Remember that Kami (more accurately the nameless namekian) was born in 242..almost 500 years before Goku in 734. Namekians live a naturally long life. When you consider that the current Namekians may only be 3rd, 4th or even 5th generation, we're still looking at hundreds upon thousands of years having past, Namekians losing their old planet, traveling for a couple centuries either awake or in some form of stasis, then settling down for a few thousand years... as far as most of the galaxy is concerned... yeah, Namekians are from Namek. They've been there since time immemorial. It does make one wonder though... what force could expel people with access to a set of dragonballs (or at least access to the ability to create a new set if the old one went bye bye) from their home planet permanently? Maybe the original Namekian homeworld somehow ran afoul Beerus... or Beerus' predecessor?
Yeah, I also thought it was odd that the Namekians on Namek seemed to have no ability to go into space, or any similar high technology, nor much of a need to go to other planets and create dragon balls, which is clearly what they did in the past. I like to think that maybe they had an interstellar empire, using dragon balls for control of planets with some great rift in there society mirroring Kami and King Piccolo, eventually tearing itself apart leaving only the good, philosophical hermits we have now. A single wish of a Dragon Ball might be able to do most of the work.
I do think Namekians may be a nomadic space faring race, would explain more about why The Unnamed Namekian (Kami/King Piccolo) came to Earth. Maybe they were looking for a new world where they could live in peace, but the journey was one way, and they could only send a message to the remaining Namekian, if they deemed the planet hospitable for their race?
@@Kruegernator123 well, we already knew they created the dragonballs (so mystical) and had space travel (otherwise how would kami/piccolo original version come to earth?). Seems like they've always been mystical and technological despite not being immediately apparent.
In the chapter that monaito is revealed and talks to granola, theres a cut-away to namek where they talk about where the namekians truly come from and that they are from a different realm
Yes, I DID forget about that part. I was more concerned about the notion that Namek wasn't the first port of call and that Cereal might be it. Again, need more information before concluding that remark.
@@n23999 yeah Lays is foul, though there are some regional brands that are not half bad, but you wont find beef wellington chips, or lamb, or better still curry chips state side. So every time I visit dear ole Blighty, I make a point to raid M&S for food stuffs to smuggle back.
At first I believed that MUI Goku after Moro arc was stronger than Beerus but overtime, it was slowly shown to me that Beerus is still stronger than him and this just confirms it, no more arguments. Other than that, the possibly of Planet Namek not being the Namekian's primary origin makes me believe that Piccolo could get some shine in a future arc but I doubt it...
Piccolo seriously needs a new arc to make him awesome again. I adore Piccolo and still respect him as a character, but ever since they demoted his rivalry position with Goku around the Namek arc, it felt like the manga stopped caring for Piccolo. He used to be a major villain and an actually developing rival for Goku, he deserves to be almost as strong or even as strong as Goku/Vegeta.
@@dragoonarchive9197 He was definitely still in the main cast up until the Cell arc, but once Cell went semi perfect he just became irrelevant and never came back.
@@psykos233 Where was it said that Goku is stronger in the manga or anime? There have been absolutely no confirmations regarding who's stronger between the two. I think people forget that Beerus has NEVER used his full power against Goku. Because he didn't need to, Goku was so weak to him that Beerus only used a small portion of his power(No, he didn't use 50% of his power, that's only in the movie.) to beat A SUPER SAIYAN GOD GOKU. Other than that Beerus has never shown much of his strength (except when he erased Zamasu, helping Goku remember that Beerus is no joke.) Goku unlocking Ultra Instinct doesn't immediately mean he's stronger. Keep in mind that beerus does still have UI, He just hasn't mastered it. And neither has Goku btw. I am 100% sure that even now, Goku, at full power, will still be defeated by Beerus at full power. Though I don't think it would be a complete defeat. People saying that Beerus is stronger are using common sense. Whis has also never mentioned Goku being stronger or on par with Beerus.
@@psykos233 When they were talking about how strong Goku was in the Moro arc and how he's still going beyond that and the interviewer said this: Interviewer: "It's like there's still room to grow" *Which Toyataro replies* Toyataro: "There's plenty more for Goku. There's Whis, and of course Beerus. Then Broly, Whis and Beerus. Also the Great Priest." That feeds into the fact that he still hasn't surpassed Beerus yet, even in the manga with MUI.
as far as the Heeters being straight up villains is concerned, I do think there is room for fracture within the group and that that in itself could give the "villain dynamic" more complexity.
I really enjoyed the interview and if I'm not mistaken there will be one more part the only problem is that many people did not pay attention to who was saying what and what they were saying... Now we're going to have mistakes influencing people for months good video :)
He creates some awesome fight scenes as well, although I’m not sure if he is used to drawing in Super’s style. At least he doesn’t trace the manga and anime like YoungJijii does…
@@Kruegernator123 I don't think he should draw characters but just help write dialogue and draw the background and paneling. Toriyama should've gotten 2 successors that way they could've worked more efficiently and bounced ideas off each other, they could see what works in a story or what doesn't.
Speaking as an artist with artist friends, there are always things we notice in our own style and our own designs that others don't. Toyotaro saying he can tell his and Toriyama's designs apart isn't really a big deal if we, the audience, can't catch it as easily.
My understanding about the Namekians is that they aren’t even from Universe 7 originally. Namek was the first world they colonized, and later possibly sent tribes to the other worlds.
I must have missed it, I watched the interview. I do dislike the idea of Namek not being their first stop though. Unless maybe they wished Namek into existence and briefly stayed somewhere else while doing that?
Is it possible that he meant that Namek wasn’t their 1st home world BECAUSE they originated from a more divine realm? Since they take up titles like God and Demon King, it’d make sense that they’d view Namek the same way British colonizers viewed America: This is our home now but it’s not where we are originally from
I actually enjoy all the sudden lore and world building in the manga even if it’s a little fast, let’s hope for some better writing in the coming chapters and future arcs 🤙🏻⚡️
I am all for Zalama being the origin of the Namekians as a species, maybe he'd be created if they all fused. It would explain why they seem to settle into semi-deity roles so easily, and they are the only know mortal species to craft Dragon Balls.
Just to note, it's very common for artists to focus in on tiny inaccuracies and other things with their own art that other people can't notice. I wouldn't put too much stock into what Toyotaro said about being able to tell his designs from Toriyama's.
Yeah we get that. It's just pointing out the things he did say and we are concerned. Ultimately, we want him to flourish. Toriyama clearly saw something in him.
0:53 Toyotaro is also the author of Dragon Ball AF, the one with Xicor is the son of Goku created by the evil West Supreme Kai (the female Kai who was killed by Kid Buu in the DBZ Buu Saga flashback).
I am entirely okay with still being able to tell Toyotaro's stuff from his master. Close but not identical, it lets each new artist and writer have a unique identity and prevents Dragon Ball from eventually growing stale and repetitive.
When thinking about the Saiyans history I always start to think about if there was another race out there that truly challenged them as a warrior race. I say this because it just doesn't feel right for them to not have a rival race. Nations have rivaling nations, tribes have rivaling tribes, and even gangs have rivaling gangs, so shouldn't the Saiyans have a rivaling race?
11:04 Well I'd add with the whole possible nemekian ties to the Super Dragon Balls, it's was always possible it wasn't their homeworld/true origin now.
The impression I got from reading the manga was that they weren’t even native to Universe 7, which means they likely aren’t native to *any* universe, coming from *outside* the multiverse or something like that.
I that they are from a separate dimension. Kinda like where the tournament of power took place or the hyperbolic time chamber Or even the demon realm. This would be more lame than your idea but I think that's where dbs is heading.
I just want the animation to come back already. I mean they have an entire arc to animate now. Then they can take a break if the Granola arc isn't done yet by the time they've finished animating the Moro. I still want quality. Don't want the beginning of DBS all over again
dude a new moive is coming out there not gobni to start the aniem when new movie is comnig mybe after the movie but right now they wont star the not goin bring aniem bak for arc the want mroe time ocne grnaloa arc down they liewk redo broyl movie the moro arc then grnaloa by rthe what arc is happe by way way in
'I just want the arc to come back already' 'I still want quality' Pick one, if you want the arc to come out as quickly as possible then the animation will be rushed, and if you want quality then it won't 'come out already'.
Idk why you think Zalama was the "first Namekian" its nonsensical. Zalama is a Dragon God. hes a Dragon not a Namekian. If he was a Namekian the Namekians wouldnt have been called out as stealing shavings from his Super Dragon Balls as if theyre some other race/species.
@@commonviewer2488 but all of the existing info makes it all but impossible he was namekian. and yeah it can be retconned, but you cant assume something can/will be because then you cant predict ANYTHING because anything is possible. its a non-argument.
A few counter points. The Namek thing could refer to the Great Catastrophe. The Namelian Race was nearly wiped at and was a spacefaring race at one time. Namek may be where one group of survivors settled down. Secondly, the refering to the Heaters as “Villains” may be because most people don’t know the difference between an antagonist and a villain. They are often used interchangeably. So it may have been a mistranslation, or a language gap. I used to be fluent in a foreign langue before I became not that from not speaking it. I can attest that some things can be translated wonkily.
I kind of want to see an arc where Vegeta temporarily becomes the villain again. Wishes his tail back and trains, eventually becoming an ape of destruction
I think a Mini Arc with Gohan, Piccolo & Krillen would be nice or at least Gohan and Piccolo (I haven't watched the full video yet but the top 3 comments are about Piccolo) But I think these 2 specifically should have a further boost not in power just by some stupid transformation but something new... Something that isn't just a power boost but it can be considered as a technique as we know about the Sayians by now but it would be lovely to know more about Namakians and Gohan is the perfect companion to accompany with him. If this can happen though... Surely it can start to become in relevance to the U7 cast as a whole as surely Supreme Kai can be explored, surely Krillen, Yamcha & Tien can be back in the game in a really unique way just as Tien being able to collect Intel, Krillen being the support he is known to be and Yamcha getting Ultr... I mean being able to rescue those that need it. So much can be done in DB as for me my favourite character is Gohan from him as a kid to an adult and his future self... But the Future Saga & the Garlic Jr are the only sagas I recall exploring something new, giving characters the chance to fight for themselves. Movies are cool and all but... Until they become cannon or even correspond to the main series as surely it wasn't just Piccolo who knew that there was something happening in the Broly Movie right? I have nothing but praise however for what DB has given although there is always adjustments and tweaks that could have been made to not just cater to Goku & Vegeta. If Vegeta never came along, some of these cool moments could have been shared by Piccolo but instead he's just a bit left out but maybe the Anime can really express what the manga haven't been able too currently as I feel a bit home sick lately with DB. Without the What Ifs and the Manga I would not be thinking much of it myself Though that was a long comment, if you read it then what do you think? Specifically about a Gohan & Piccolo Arc or something similar, thought Krillen would be nice as they are a good trio :D (Back to the video I go!)
I think you're jumping the gun on a few of these, but overall I agree. Let's all wait and see how this arc turns out, because I genuinely think this could be one of the best in all of Dragonball.
I don't understand being disappointed with the Heaters being the villains. They've been built up as the villains and their motivations are believable. Whats the issue? Why would we need to have some random unrelated person artificially dropped in.
Honestly the only thing worrying me about Dragon Ball is the removal of Shintani from the design team for future projects... the Broly movie was the best Dragon ball has looked in motion in so long--not to mention how fantastic the colors were
I might be. But we want him to diverge from his past more. He's getting there but the similarities are a little too similar. However, we wish the best for him.
They basically wrote themselves into a corner. Before when Goku transformed it meant something. Now there are so many transformations that seemingly now appear out of thin air and so many hair colors, the concept of "upgrading" with a new transformation is lost. So I simply just care less about it. There is never development for Goku. His character development is one straight line. There are no stakes now. Just pull a new transformation out of your ass and that's it. Wait for a stronger enemy to make that "new" transformation irrelevant... There is absolutely no character development for Goku or Vegeta. We all know that no matter how hard Vegeta trains, he will always lose. Goku remains the goofball he has always been because there are no stakes anymore and he will pop up with a new transformation at some point. The formula never changes. Each new story is, is just a reskin of the previous one with zero character development. Maybe instead of a new transformation, fight smarter or different.... or let Vegeta take a win, to force Goku to take things more seriously and work to surpass him.... but Nah. Or get Gohan back into the action. But Nah... they sidelined him. I still follow dragon Ball, i always will. But at times I get frustrated with it.
I personally believe that Zalama is the true god of the universe. The one above Zeno as he has basically limitless power but in addition to this, he has the power to wipe the minds of any and all beings in existence if he so chooses because they are all in existence from him. So Zeno could be the creation of Zalama to do the majority work as he overlooks everything in the multiverse but has had it's mind erased so it views itself as the true lord of lords. It's a stretch of a theory I know but since we know so little about Zalama and Zeno it's not impossible to imagine. As we need to remember than Zeno either didn't want to or can't bring erased universes back from their erasure. That they needed the Super Dragon Balls in order to achieve this unimaginable level of power.
The fact that Toyotaro still can't adapt to Toriyamas storytelling or design process is concerning. Toriyama isn't all about action and lore drops, and that is something Toyotaro is still struggling with
We could be witness to history. Maybe that image you showed was the last time we'll see Toyotaro's face for the next 20 years! I think Granolah is a step up in terms of Toyo's writing. Not perfect but better. Hope he continues to improve.
I actually don't mind these new Namekian developments. As evident by Kami's ship, the Namekians have some history of space-faring. Also this could put Piccolo back on the stage somehow. But, knowing how corporate Dragon Ball has become, Goku will have another hair color at some point and Piccolo will continue his job as a fight narrator.
My headcanon: the first Namek was someone who left Makai. They have a culture of trying not to become demons and get banished to back to that crap sack. King Cold couldn't have been doing all the planning behind "clear out planets of their sentient inhabitants and sell them" business. Somebody needs to scout out planets and see which ones are valuable and inhabitable, and which ones are lacking a vital resource or on the verge of an environmental disaster. Those in the latter category could be potential buyers, if they have something valuable in trade or a technology to be taught in exchange. Those in the former category, who had probably been living in harmony with their planet, preserving resources and not fighting nuclear wars so that they could continue for generations: clear those guys out, house-flip for a profit, rake in that sky gold. We're dealing with pirates or mafia here, but they're geniuses at what they do. They're villains who aren't antagonists, and they know how to make use of the good guys, keeping them occupied while they gather the DragonBalls under everyone's noses. So not only did they fill a decades-old hole in the world building, they're deadly schemers who strike me as being smarter that Toriyama himself. It always impresses me when someone convincingly writes a character who's smarter than they are.
I feel like Super is adding lore to parts of the story that aren't really needed. The Namek Saga was ages ago, and they feel like NOW is the time to bring up that the planet wasn't originally their homeworld? What difference does it make? The planet was destroyed, and they can always just wish themselves a new one, so it's not like it matters.
I feel the namekian's having no home world is actually quite an interesting thing, think about the namekian book of legands. How does the book contain everything in it? Like all books they need to be written by someone which if I had a hunch would be space traveling namekians (As we know they were able to do so as a hint from Z) its not far fetch for that to be the case at all.
Meant to comment this sooner, BUT MASAKO, I really don't see how you're surprised by and disappointed by the Heetas being confirmed as villains in this interview. In Chapter 70, when Elec reaches the decision to play Goku and Vegeta into fighting Granolah, the Heetas pretty much confirm that they're evil. Macki says that they were the ones who paid Freeza to wipe out Planet Cereal's inhabitants in the first place and Oil calls the Sugarians a bunch of chumps for paying the Heetas a small fortune for the planet without asking questions. Sounds pretty evil to me.
Ahhh... I truly hope that the Namekian not being native from Namek thing will truly be used for something... so at least it will be something more than just a retcon out of the blue whose only purpouse was to justify the exsistence of a new Dragon to whom Granolah asked for a power boost and bum.
I guess I have to wonder what people who hold on to "what Toryama writes is canon" think about this? Quite clearly Toryama said Ok to everything and if he dose continue and write another movie script, he will likely place it after the events in the super manga, Califa and Kale started this "contradiction" with Toryama making a character for a character he did not make himself. (Tho the heaters can probably stand on there own far better then the first example if someone chose to remove there Main factor) As for Tor being able to tell his work from toryama, I think in this dynamic that's traditionally considered a good thing? In theory his job isn't to copy toryama it's to learn from him and improve his own skills If My understanding is correct him being unable to Tell his own work from another would traditionally be a sign something wasn't going right. Basically what I'm saying is Tor saying that was the "culturally" correct response if all I've gathered is correct (and as such might not necessarily he true, tho I don't doubt that it is), granted I could have missed the mark by a mile in this
I don't want Toyotaro to copy Toriyama, I like his artstyle and designs a looooot more than what Toriyama did in the last decade. As of the writing... I think Toriyama should give the pen to Toyotarou. Fight me
I always wanted the black star dragon balls to come back somehow, and tie back into some evil Namekians. Like if the black stars opened some space portal or something after theyve been used as a way to hunt down anyone stuoid enough to activate them.
The opening alone got you a like from me Masako, gotta keep them protein levels up! Ok seriously, I still think we need to let this play out before lighting our hair on fire and jumping to conclusions based on a couple of things the co-author and one of the editors said in an interview! That's just me though!
well masakoX toryama confirmed that buu was older than Dragon ball universes and the super dragon ball's creator too. This makes me think that the creator is indeed a namekian and the idea that demon king picollo was indeed a demon might be true because they are not only aliens but something beyond the 18 universes
I actually really liked the video but there was one thing I did not agree on. Toyotaro being able to tell the difference between their styles isn't a bad thing. Toyotaro should not be a clone of Toriyama and definitely should develop himself as a mangaka with a style heavily inspired by Toriyama but not be him. I actually really like that they are not identical but similar. It allows the story to mature and grow in ways that a Toriyama copy could not. That, I believe, is true organic growth lest the original author get in a rut (like many do).
Namek not being their original homeworld feels normal. It could be ancient. Isn't it weird that they had space travel? I think it fits. They felt highly nomadic from the start. Namek doesn't have to be "new" and it makes sense how they were able to settle into new namek easily.
It means goku and vegeta watch each other in training. There is the chance they switch technique. In Moro arc, goku declare himself as earthling, vegeta will follow his steps. And after seeing raw potential in broly.
Didn't they already establish (earlier in this arc) that Namekians didn't come from Earth Realm? So the main question is whether that means they came from the Realm of the Kais or from another universe.
They should expand on this namekian idea by confirming that there are an unknown number of namekian settlements scattered throughout the universe, all protecting their own set of dragon balls for whatever reason, let the info slip to the Heeters and then have the Z warriors team up with Galactic patrol to stop them, ofcourse splitting up the Z warriors to give them all their own screen time and important roles again, since even Yamcha was already shown to be leagues above your other galactic patrol officers
They could even let the Frieza Force find out the Heeters are looking for dragon balls in order to rise above Frieza too, which will result in the Frieza Force joining the hunt to stop the Heeters as well, but without teaming up with the Z warriors, thus setting up a three-way war between Heeters, Frieza and Galactic patrol The possible emotional trauma can really make for some major character development (as well as Yamcha maybe finally finding a girlfriend, alien or not)
Is it possible they are releating the story of the namekians to the story of the saiyans and in some sense through this the cerelians? Perhaps the namekians homeworld is not cerial but another world that was affected or affected the cerialians in some way
It isn't like Toriyama wasn't beyond throwing out stunning revelations and then simply never using it. For example anyone remember the evil supreme kais?
It was likely mentioned toward the beginning of this arc when the Cerealian dragonballs were shown, then it cut to the old guy on Namek explaining to a bunch of kids.
That's because it's been confusing. You have BOG power scale toriyama gave where goku is a 5 and beerus is a 10. Beerus saying he used 50% of his power. And then you have U6vsU7 with goku stating SSBKK was something he came up with to fight beerus one day with (It's anime only but it adds to confusion nonetheless). You also have supreme kai calling SSB vegito stronger than beerus in goku black arc. Then you get TOP and the jiren hype who whis says is stronger than every god of destruction.
@@RenoTKC This. I think GoDs have a base “level” of strength but obviously some would train still while others would slack off eventually. We know Beerus now is lazy but considering he nearly has UI I’d assume he was pretty damn serious in his past.
@@ziongamer6905 not sure if the base level is particularly high, as Toppo became a GoD as well and was still only around Vegeta SSBE. Also Golden Frieza repelled that one Hakai while getting destroyed by Toppos. So the power differences between the GoDs might be massive
I don’t think it’s a negative that Namek wasn’t the original home world of the Namekiens.. it was still a world struggling to survive and was ultimately wiped out by freeza, etc.. It makes me wonder how old the Namekians really are?
I'm too hoping Vegeta doesn't get hit with another Moro diss, he been needing a big dub for a while. Though I do have a question on how exactly they're going to defeat Granolah, I know they've been trying to avoid using fusion but....with stronger and stronger opponent's it just seems more...idk required? To have fusion, though I guess since earth or the universe isn't in any trouble now (at least for now) I guess they can test their mettle.

I get the impression that Toriyama wouldn't want someone whose work just completely aped his own.
Or someone even higher up the divine hierarchy.
Yeah exactly, literally nothing could threaten a world with dragon balls. Just seems kinda dumb to retcon their history
When I first saw Granola I thought it was a Toriyama original design! That’s just how good it is.
That's the result of having the design reworked many times. Toriyama is an honorary editor now
I do think Namekians may be a nomadic space faring race, would explain more about why The Unnamed Namekian (Kami/King Piccolo) came to Earth.
Maybe they were looking for a new world where they could live in peace, but the journey was one way, and they could only send a message to the remaining Namekian, if they deemed the planet hospitable for their race?
guru talked about a calamity on namek and the son of katas being sent off
It sounds like Toriyama is making the Namekians a technologically advanced, yet mystical race, sort of like the Chozo from the Metroid series.
@@Kruegernator123 and I'm all for that!!!
I'm going to remember that bit of Toriyama wisdom. That even lone wolf characters should always have a partner.

As a British I agree
Where was said or shown Beerus is stronger even in the Interview or in the Mangá???
@@psykos233 Where was it said that Goku is stronger in the manga or anime? There have been absolutely no confirmations regarding who's stronger between the two.
I think people forget that Beerus has NEVER used his full power against Goku. Because he didn't need to, Goku was so weak to him that Beerus only used a small portion of his power(No, he didn't use 50% of his power, that's only in the movie.) to beat A SUPER SAIYAN GOD GOKU. Other than that Beerus has never shown much of his strength (except when he erased Zamasu, helping Goku remember that Beerus is no joke.)
Goku unlocking Ultra Instinct doesn't immediately mean he's stronger.
@@psykos233 When they were talking about how strong Goku was in the Moro arc and how he's still going beyond that and the interviewer said this:
Interviewer: "It's like there's still room to grow"
*Which Toyataro replies*
Toyataro: "There's plenty more for Goku. There's Whis, and of course Beerus. Then Broly, Whis and Beerus. Also the Great Priest."
That feeds into the fact that he still hasn't surpassed Beerus yet, even in the manga with MUI.
as far as the Heeters being straight up villains is concerned, I do think there is room for fracture within the group and that that in itself could give the "villain dynamic" more complexity.
I really enjoyed the interview and if I'm not mistaken there will be one more part
the only problem is that many people did not pay attention to who was saying what and what they were saying...
Now we're going to have mistakes influencing people for months
good video :)
I think Toriyama should get DragonGarow Lee to work with Toyotaro, as Dragongarrow lee is pretty good at capturing dragon ball as well.
Or Fenyo
Speaking as an artist with artist friends, there are always things we notice in our own style and our own designs that others don't. Toyotaro saying he can tell his and Toriyama's designs apart isn't really a big deal if we, the audience, can't catch it as easily.
My understanding about the Namekians is that they aren’t even from Universe 7 originally.
Namek was the first world they colonized, and later possibly sent tribes to the other worlds.
Yes, very true. But now that Namek part is a little vague from what Toyotaro said.
I must have missed it, I watched the interview. I do dislike the idea of Namek not being their first stop though. Unless maybe they wished Namek into existence and briefly stayed somewhere else while doing that?
That doesn't sound like building up.
It sounds more like digging down to fit more stuff, you know what I mean
Is it possible that he meant that Namek wasn’t their 1st home world BECAUSE they originated from a more divine realm? Since they take up titles like God and Demon King, it’d make sense that they’d view Namek the same way British colonizers viewed America: This is our home now but it’s not where we are originally from
Universe 7 OR Universe 6 potentially. Maybe Namek exists in a dimension separate from the main universe, like the Demon Realm or Realm of the Kais?
I actually enjoy all the sudden lore and world building in the manga even if it’s a little fast, let’s hope for some better writing in the coming chapters and future arcs 🤙🏻⚡️
Best Intro on the entire MasakoX channel 🤣
I am all for Zalama being the origin of the Namekians as a species, maybe he'd be created if they all fused. It would explain why they seem to settle into semi-deity roles so easily, and they are the only know mortal species to craft Dragon Balls.
Just to note, it's very common for artists to focus in on tiny inaccuracies and other things with their own art that other people can't notice. I wouldn't put too much stock into what Toyotaro said about being able to tell his designs from Toriyama's.
Lots of dogging on Toyotaro. Give him a break! He's still learning!
He's trying his best okay!
I can't wait to see/learn more about God of Destruction Vegeta! I'm happy Vegeta is finally getting thrown a bone in Dragon Ball Super
You and Marks & Spencer just make sense. I'm sure that's the takeaway you wanted from this video.
Technically I got it from a BP with an M&S in it. I regularly shop at Sainsbury's but my heart lays with Waitrose.
The impression I got from reading the manga was that they weren’t even native to Universe 7, which means they likely aren’t native to *any* universe, coming from *outside* the multiverse or something like that.
Exactly my thoughts when I first read that part. It seems to imply that they come from another realm altogether.
I that they are from a separate dimension. Kinda like where the tournament of power took place or the hyperbolic time chamber Or even the demon realm. This would be more lame than your idea but I think that's where dbs is heading.
Wellington played. Also congrats on 4th place.
I just want the animation to come back already. I mean they have an entire arc to animate now. Then they can take a break if the Granola arc isn't done yet by the time they've finished animating the Moro. I still want quality. Don't want the beginning of DBS all over again

You say that, but we have little information on Zalama to go off of, and that information may be retconned later anyways

“I got the beef.... beef wellington” i cracked up laughing
I kind of want to see an arc where Vegeta temporarily becomes the villain again. Wishes his tail back and trains, eventually becoming an ape of destruction
I think a Mini Arc with Gohan, Piccolo & Krillen would be nice or at least Gohan and Piccolo (I haven't watched the full video yet but the top 3 comments are about Piccolo)
But I think these 2 specifically should have a further boost not in power just by some stupid transformation but something new...
Without the What Ifs and the Manga I would not be thinking much of it myself
Though that was a long comment, if you read it then what do you think? Specifically about a Gohan & Piccolo Arc or something similar, thought Krillen would be nice as they are a good trio :D (Back to the video I go!)
I thought we knew the namekians weren't from namek? Wasn't it mentioned in the Moro arc? That they came from a higher plane or something?
I think you're jumping the gun on a few of these, but overall I agree. Let's all wait and see how this arc turns out, because I genuinely think this could be one of the best in all of Dragonball.
I don't understand being disappointed with the Heaters being the villains. They've been built up as the villains and their motivations are believable. Whats the issue? Why would we need to have some random unrelated person artificially dropped in.
I'm just wondering whether or not you got the chips just to do the bit, or you did the bit because you coincidentally had chips on you.
I had been to get some fuel and got them for Filly but she couldn't eat them all so...serendipity.
Honestly the only thing worrying me about Dragon Ball is the removal of Shintani from the design team for future projects... the Broly movie was the best Dragon ball has looked in motion in so long--not to mention how fantastic the colors were
The Namekians not being from Namek gives me strong Star Wars Rebels vibes with the Lasats and their planet Lasan.
This makes me really worried about what would happen if Toyotaro is off the leash. I'm not sure I want him to be in complete control of Dragon Ball...
I feel like you're a little too hard on Toyotaro. Not everything he does is copied from AF, that comparison with Xicor feels like a huge stretch.
I might be. But we want him to diverge from his past more. He's getting there but the similarities are a little too similar. However, we wish the best for him.
Remember when namekians where demons maybe a ancestor came to the realm of mortals and settled in namek becoming more passive and peaceful over time
Toriyama has lived long enough to become the very thing that meddled in Dragon Ball series.
Said this before but Sugarians look like Zeno got Tarble's wife prego.
Toriyama isn't all about action and lore drops, and that is something Toyotaro is still struggling with
Good time to be a DragonBall fan. Looking forward to future developments
Love your videos bro
Its called world buylding something yoriama did less and less during the original dragon ball manga run
(Tho the heaters can probably stand on there own far better then the first example if someone chose to remove there Main factor)
As for Tor being able to tell his work from toryama, I think in this dynamic that's traditionally considered a good thing?
Fight me
😂
I always wanted the black star dragon balls to come back somehow, and tie back into some evil Namekians. Like if the black stars opened some space portal or something after theyve been used as a way to hunt down anyone stuoid enough to activate them.
The opening alone got you a like from me Masako, gotta keep them protein levels up! Ok seriously, I still think we need to let this play out before lighting our hair on fire and jumping to conclusions based on a couple of things the co-author and one of the editors said in an interview! That's just me though!
About the namekian origins, wasn't it already mentioned in the early chapters of this arc that the namekians came from a different realm?
Yes, I did forget that. But it was the vagueness of the original home in this universe. Zalama, the first Namekian, also has something to do with it.
What will Vegeta's response be when he learns his master was the one who ordered the destruction of Planet Vegeta?
That’s a question that needs an answer! Think of all the angst ahhh
He already knows Beerus told him face to face I think it was in the chapter where Beerus teaches him hakai or the chp before that.
well masakoX toryama confirmed that buu was older than Dragon ball universes and the super dragon ball's creator too. This makes me think that the creator is indeed a namekian and the idea that demon king picollo was indeed a demon might be true because they are not only aliens but something beyond the 18 universes
0:25
that's a good pupper!!
That was quite the opening
I actually really liked the video but there was one thing I did not agree on. Toyotaro being able to tell the difference between their styles isn't a bad thing. Toyotaro should not be a clone of Toriyama and definitely should develop himself as a mangaka with a style heavily inspired by Toriyama but not be him. I actually really like that they are not identical but similar. It allows the story to mature and grow in ways that a Toriyama copy could not. That, I believe, is true organic growth lest the original author get in a rut (like many do).
I don't think the style needs to be the same. Dragon ball and DBZ at every different series. This is a series of change more than anything.
Didn't a Namekian already say a few chapters ago that Namek is not the origin point of Namekians?
2:35 You mixed up Granolah and Toyotaro?😂
At least you caught the mistake and fixed it in post
Namek not being their original homeworld feels normal. It could be ancient. Isn't it weird that they had space travel? I think it fits. They felt highly nomadic from the start. Namek doesn't have to be "new" and it makes sense how they were able to settle into new namek easily.
Toyotaro's design looks cooler to me. Sue me sucka
There are no concerns with the designs we got in the manga.
Im just saiyan Lord Masako@@MasakoX
It means goku and vegeta watch each other in training. There is the chance they switch technique. In Moro arc, goku declare himself as earthling, vegeta will follow his steps. And after seeing raw potential in broly.
i think namekians origins are outside universes, but universe 7 namekians had namek as their home established in that universe
You know what MasakoX I like you, so I'm gonna let that "Beef Wellington" joke slide lol.
Didn't they already establish (earlier in this arc) that Namekians didn't come from Earth Realm? So the main question is whether that means they came from the Realm of the Kais or from another universe.
Best and funniest intro I've seen. U don't know your snacks but that was priceless hahahaha
Toriyama went from having editors to being the editor.
Toyotaro: I wanna make Vegeta look insanely cool
Also Toyotaro: *makes him get rekt by Granola the chapter after the form debuts*
They could even let the Frieza Force find out the Heeters are looking for dragon balls in order to rise above Frieza too, which will result in the Frieza Force joining the hunt to stop the Heeters as well, but without teaming up with the Z warriors, thus setting up a three-way war between Heeters, Frieza and Galactic patrol
The possible emotional trauma can really make for some major character development (as well as Yamcha maybe finally finding a girlfriend, alien or not)
Is it possible they are releating the story of the namekians to the story of the saiyans and in some sense through this the cerelians? Perhaps the namekians homeworld is not cerial but another world that was affected or affected the cerialians in some way
It isn't like Toriyama wasn't beyond throwing out stunning revelations and then simply never using it. For example anyone remember the evil supreme kais?
The Namekians not being from Namek has been established previously, no? I could have sworn we’ve known that for ages.
It was likely mentioned toward the beginning of this arc when the Cerealian dragonballs were shown, then it cut to the old guy on Namek explaining to a bunch of kids.
Why are people surprised that Beerus is stronger than Goku? I always knew that was the case.
