I was wondering that's not 4c hair.

Yh I saw the picture before and Yh we have the same hair🤩🤩
Off topic but that looks amazing on your skin complexion. Where did you get it from?
Loool i was confussssed🤣🤣🤣 because I'm saying they're going to come for you in the comment section
Lmaoooo she totally right because I read that title and saw that hair and was like 4c WHERE?... then she addressed literally 2 sec later so I appreciate that
😂😂😂
Sameeee I came on here to completely come for her woops
I literally clicked it just to say that her hair wasn’t 4c 😂
Whats upsetting is that the 4c was used as click bait. People with integrity would say Gina curl on 4c hair.
Healthy Chick, lol this is a video on how I grew my natural hair to the length everyone saw and still ask me about. This was not “how to grow hair with a GinaCurl”. I can understand being disappointed I’m not currently natural, but the information is for the many still inquiring about my natural hair.
I think it was helpful to share this way, rather than trying to help girls/guys by writing essays in their dms.
That shrinkage was real.

You know it’s healthy hair when the shrinkage is so dramatic 😍

3. Trim your ends 6:20 *very important

So y’all will grab her tips, but aren’t willing to stick around long enough to watch at least one ad. 😒
Ppl like you are needed in these comment sections 😭

How many years did she grow her hair for?
As someone who has 4c hair, I am NOT offended by the fact that she has a Gina curl and is giving tips, for the simple fact that she grew her 4C hair to waist length COMPLETELY natural, THEN had the Gina curl. Comprehensive skills are fundamental kids. At the end of the day, yes she has a Gina curl but 4c hair is what grows out of her head regardless 💕
What is a Gina curl?
ThatBradyChick I was about to ask the same
@@ThatBradyChick The Gina Curl is in the chemical family of the Japanese Straightening but provides more freedom. It's a three-step process. ... The Gina Curl restructures the hair molecules to reduce frizz \volume, making the hair softer, smoother, shinier, with a curly that is more manageable and moisture balanced.
ThatBradyChick it’s a perm (what white people do to get curly hair)
Periodt like some of these people dont understand that.
My hair isn’t 4c HOWEVER I believe we can all agree that our hair isn’t hard to grow it just takes understanding! Thank you for that ! 👆🏾👏🏿
Exactly. Our hair grows the same amount of time as other races, it just comes down to retaining length
@@AllThatGlitter224 tips for retaining length?
@@fay7692 Honestly just finding products that work for you and I've learned more than anything, leaving your hair alone. I had a tapered cut, like my sides were shaved down, and in the span of a year its shoulder length (stretch out) because I lived my life in wigs and braids. Also when you're doing protective styles, remember to still take care of your hair or else the protective part to that phrase is useless. so if your wearing wigs make sure your hair is detangled, moisturized and tucked away neatly.. Also you dont need a load of products, a little really does go a long way. I have my shampoo and conditioner, a deep conditioner and then when I'm out the shower I just use a cream, an oil and a tiny bit of gel.
@@AllThatGlitter224 wow, thank you. My big problem is I'm low low porosity so I think I use a lot of cream when I do my twists outs every wash day and that stunts the growth.
I also used to wash my hair once a week but now I wash it every 2-3 weeks because im lazy cuz of quarentine
I also have not done a protective style since the start of my natural hair journey. My hair has been through years and years of heat and relaxer damage until just a year ago. I didn't do a big chop but it was significant
I would say my definitely hair grew thicker and a little bit longer, I really don't know the exact length but I started October 2019 and my hair is not where I thought it would be.
I definitely need to do protective styles because my hair grows a lot in braids, I just need to learn how to manage it while it's in braids.
I think protective styles and washing more frequently will help my hair grow more
Fay Braids
I have 4c hair and she is speaking the truth. The ends of my hair is my problem.
For real. Single strand knots won't let my hair be great 😭😭
Real Talk! They are the 👿!!!!!! Period.
So true I am telling you the ends are crazy sigh and yes as young as they are the ends are not letting them be great
So true I had to cut my 4c hair back to my neck, because I didn‘t regulary trimmed/cut my ends. Before that it went down to my nipple and I‘m 6ft tall. 😭 So please regulary and PROPERLY trimm your hair ladies
Yeah I learned that I not only have to trim it, but also seal my ends with castor oil
Isn't anyone gonna talk about how gorgeous and beautiful she is?
She's stunning
Yes gorgeous looking like a real life brats doll ❤️
Why it's so obvious
She’s gorgeous fr
Here’s a list :)
1. Don’t silk press/flat iron consistently (do as a 6month to a year (maybe even longer) basis).
2. Apply more products to your ends than to your roots (they need more love than your roots).
3. Trim your ends *every 3 months or so* because 4c is prone to split ends. Don’t use products for split ends.. just. get. a. trim. periodt!
4. Coat your hair with oil. It’s a prectant and shield to the outside world! Olive oil, castor oil, and Argan Oil are good!
5. Less manipulation is best. Don’t always be in your hair. Be gentle with your hair!
6. Try your products on your hands to see if they’re actually doing what they’re supposed to do on your hair. If after some time with a product on your hand ends up drying out, it’s probably doing that on your hair as well.
7. Use treatments that’ll target your ends if can. Don’t do treatments all the time, just when it’s needed.
8. Keep your hair off your shoulders. Do more updos!
Thank you❤
Thanks girl!
Trim ends daily ? Lol
@@SolarLove7 rt? Like nope sis every few months is fine for me 💀.
Briana M Sorry for the wrong wording! She mentioned in the video of trimming every month, and I somehow correlated to that being daily🥴! I meant to do every 3 months (or even 6 months). I’ve edited it to that so people aren’t misinformed
I have 4c hair and I came across a video a girl made on how once she started deep conditioning with heat her hair started retaining so much moisture. I bought the same steaming cap that she had - it’s the kind you attach to your blow dryer. It seriously changed the moisture balance in my hair for the better. My hair has been thriving and retaining length ever since I bought that cap. Before it was like the moisture just wouldn’t stay in my hair no matter what I did and now I can apply nothing but a leave in and no oil and my hair stays soft and moisturized. I would highly recommend a steamer or a heated deep conditioning cap for any 4c girls who are low porosity.
Can you link the cap
Please! I would like to know it as well!
Girlll tell us which one you use. My hair needs it 😭
Floryanng there’s a hot head deep conditioning cap, you can find it on Etsy! Just pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds, or try one of the attachment hooded dryers that you attach to your blow dry, I got mine from target! Super affordable!
Those hair steamers are pricey lol
Why am I more interested in a Gina curl instead of how she grew her hair out? 🤦🏾♀️
this channel explained the process! ruclips.net/video/jK0JtAW3YH0/видео.html
Because you like the loser hair more than her natural 4c hair ig
Lol me too
Ju La yes who cares
Ju La and? Maybe we do like it more it’s a preference. Be careful Your insecurities are showing hun.
EXACTLY👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 its the endss that matter because your hair be growing!! and the ends be breaking off..having you at shoulder length for EVER💀
I remember my leave out days. A hair stylist once told me “girl your middle part going to fall off” 😂😂😂 it sure did too 😭
Y’all don’t judge me but I’ve been blow drying my hair on high heat with coconut oil in it forever. I never knew it was bad I really thought I was being healthy. 😩
I just did this last night wtf😭😭damn nobody told me
oh noooo 😭 usually mixing oil with heat especially HIGH heat is very unhealthy but now that you know you can change that. i would say just blow dry with a heat protectant and a leave in so your hair can stay moisturized while blow dried. then you could add oil after your done
I blow dry my hair on the cool setting. I bought a new blow dryer that has a cool setting and I love it.
Sometimes I just wanna cut all my hair off cus 4c is roughhh man😩But I watch vids like this and it’s encourages me. Thanks for sharing
Rendaisea Deane, it’s something serious 😭 every wash day I considered getting a pixie cut 😂
@@fruitsarelife148 4c is harder than any other hair texture. It really does take longer to style than someone who has 4a hair.

She is sooo right about the ends. I dyed my entire head a year ago. Sis i can only see the colour in my bun now. My hair grew 6 inches+ as soon as I clocked that my hair DID grow and quite a lot at that I realised my ends and I needed loveeee. Now my hair is the longest it’s ever been 🥲😂❤️
I started taking good care of my 4c hair 2 months ago , and it’s so long now I can’t even believe myself 😂😅

This is good info! I'm always trying to stress to people that your length is really in you ends. You'd be surprised how long your hair will be of you just maintain the ends! 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
During lockdown I’ve been so relaxed with my everyday styling and I noticed that most the damage I was having is due to styling. I (protective styles) braid my hair a lot but the matting and detangling was a whole process. Now I can finger detangle easy with fresh water and a little hair milk, oil the endz and done. Tension and over styling causing a lot of breakage.
I love this. So thorough and straightforward. Gorgeous hair. Thanks for the tips, great video.
I am so glad that you mentioned your height!!! As a fellow tall girl (I’m 5’8) I know the struggle on growing hair butt length hair Sis!!!!
Not if you have a short torso
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
5’7” and 5’8” are not considered tall for women. They are average. The short tall for women begin at 5’9”
5’9” in average women pants will be in high waters. So.....y’all real funny.
jackseve no it really matters where you live. If you leave in a place with people that are are short then you will be considered tall. Where I live 5”9 is tall for a man. Very rare too. Normal pants would be high for 5”7 women too..
@@jackseve people always call me tall a tall girl and I'm 5'8/5'9, I'm not used to girls being taller than me. I don't see myself as super tall at all though, but apparently most girls are in the 5'4 range. It clearly also depends on where you live
jackseve 5’4- 5’7 is average. 5’8 is above average
“You need to cut your hair” you’re absolutely right 🤣🥺 it’s been a cool 8 months now but I’m cutting this Sunday & going right can yo protective styling lol

Again thank you love.

You gave the best information I heard yet on 4C hair since I began to watch videos like yours. Bravo! Bravo! Thank you.
Yes please trim your ends, not a lot of course. Get the shears. There are methods like search and destroy. I trim after I put my hair in a braid or twists. You can see the split ends better. I use castor oil(Jamaican mango lime brand), Shea moisture Jamaican castor oil strengthen and anti breakage restore spray. Spray first then castor oil. Make sure ends have oil, pay attention. Keep it twisted, braided, but still moisturize few times a week or as needed. It will grow.
Hi! Do you trim dry or wet? With my hair, if I twist after washing & LOC or whatever my hair takes DAYS to dry. So exactly when in the process do you trim? Apologies if what I’m asking isn’t clear!

Good advice to put the hair product on your hands to test the moisture. Most natural videos say the same tips so I appreciated hearing something new.
cutenobi, have to watch out for allergens but seriously I try everything on my hands first now💗
Yes, that is a very good tip. I’ve done it before but this was a great reminder. She gave a lot of good tips and information in this video. Especially about the ENDS. 😁
THIS WAS VERY, VERY GOOD INFORMATION!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I JUST HAPPENED TO RUN ACROSS THIS POST... I'VE NEVER HEARD ANYONE ELSE SAY THIS GOOD STUFF. I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY THEM. Thank you again!! ❤❤
From someone who had relaxed hair from the age of 9 and went natural at the age of 30 and struggled because my own hair was alien to me lacked moisture no matter what products. I switched to a curly perm wave nouveau. I don’t miss my 4C hair yes I said it! I wash my hair more and the moisture travels down to my ends.
I might try this!!
Nothing wrong with that! Whatever works for you!
Your hair was chemically altered for 20 years age 9-29 no wonder you never missed it because you never had it half of your lifetime.
mAya SquAw our 4C hair was not made for this climate that’s why we have to do so much with it l. And it is not supposed to be that way. I’m happy with the state of my hair now chemical or no chemical it’s still my hair.
4C hair was not made for Africa either. That’s why the only people in Africa with long 4C hair are those who have braids and keep them in braids for their lifetime. I noticed my hair does not like just being outside.
OMG U MADE A NEW VIDEOOOOO yesssss ima watch this after I finish my work I love youuu so muchhh🤍🤍🤍🤍
Even tho u said to watch first two minutes first I just had to comment at the beginning, your makeup is laiddddd and it is blended into your skin so noice
Been trying to grow out my hair for so long. Now that I started paying attention to the product use, I have seen a huge difference.
Listen sis I’m with you!! I’m all about trimming off dead hair you had a new subbie from that point. A lot of naturals on RUclips don’t talk about how important it is to get ur hair trimmed. Also not putting oils on your scalp👏🏾 a lot of people don’t understand that’s not gonna make ur hair grow faster. I use aloe Vera juice to combat itching and dandruff. Style ur Hair and neglect it👍🏾. Black hair thrives when u leave it alone!!! I leave my hair in twist and braids for MONTHS at a time and my hair in thriving. These are great tips❤️
Hands down the best video I’ve ever seen on this topic. I cut the hell out of my hair two days ago because I was so frustrated with my dead ends. It’s alittle uneven but I could care less because at least I know I have HEALTHY ends now. I used to think it was so hard to grow out my hair and that I had to wear protective styles when really I just need to take care of my ENDS! Thank you so much for this! 😁😁
The quarantine has been GREAT for my kinky hair. I've learned to leave it alone and keep it moisturized. It's almost longer than it's EVER been. (Backbone when straightened) Ladies... leave your hair alone and keep it stretched and moisturized. That's the key to growing kinky hair long (without the Gina curl).
Do you use heat when you stretch?
@@graciousgrace7509 I've been wearing medium-sized twists (about 30+ in total) and I moisturize every other day with water and seal with shea butter or oil.
Nope. No breakage. I don't even wear a bonnet anymore. I think that leaving ends out is a myth. As long as you keep them trimmed/even and moisturized they won't break.
My hair that hangs at the nape always grows best and it always touches/rubs my shirt in twists. It grows like a weed. It's my crown that was having issues so I was always at a length plateau.
So I make sure to lightly mist with water 3-4 times per week and seal with any butter or oil.
Yes the twists get a tad fuzzy, but they are strong, moisturized and I'm finally retaining length. I just throw them up in a loose, fun ponytail.
I had to learn to baby my crown section so it will grow as long as the rest of my hair. My crown was holding me back and my hair would always be in layers. I had to keep chopping the long parts at the neck because the crown wouldn't catch up with the rest.
Less is more! I use far fewer products and spend less time on my hair. Now that my twists are so long people think I have locs. I'm like no these are just twists.
Ladies, all you need are water and butter/grease to seal. Stop buying all these expensive products. You don't need them. Your hair just wants water and a seal.
Don't be afraid of the frizz and shrinkage. Find a style to wear that minimizes it. I don't drench my hair. I just spray my hand and squeeze the water into the twists. Then I add my butter, style and go.
@@Jamjar-iu3ji No. I just put it in 6 jumbo flat twists after shampooing. The next day my hair is stretched and I do medium-sized twists.
Thank you so much for this!! This is gold 💛💛💛 I love how you present it as well!

such a good video. you're so pretty, and the fact that you know the game is awesome! thanks boo!
You are so right when you say the issue is the ends of the hair. I agree that 4C is definitely prone to split ends or "bad" ends, at least my hair is. I realize I do have to regularly trim my hair so it can be healthy and manageable and not break off as much. Also I love straight hair from time to time but I realize it is not worth it. It really changed my curl pattern and I Don't like that.

You can try to put Chebe in their hair and twist it. Retains moisture for days
@@dasiahill60 what's that!? Thank you for sharing.
I don't have 4c hair (I have like 3b to 4a mix), but keeping hair off your shoulders is SO important. I was annoyed my hair would always sit on my shoulders no matter how hard I tried to grow it. I went to a stylist who noticed the right half was an inch shorter than the left. He asked what side I wear my bag on, turns out that when bag straps get caught on your hair they actually cause so much breakage. I think the same would apply to bra straps, earrings and necklaces.
Thank you for so much info. These are the things I needed to know growing up 💯
yes girl!!! the ends thank you.. a reminder is a blessing lol I will be trimming these ends more often Sis
Why'd you lie, you said ends more than 17x 😂 and I'm here for it.
Protip for anyone who needs it: Twists are one of the best hairstyles once you hit shoulder length because it's versatile. You can wear it in a bun, a ponytail, double/triple up the twists, braid the twists, bantu knot them, etc. and because the hair is already protected it doesn't harm you in terms of manipulation as long as you're watching out for your ends. Plus twists stay the most moisturized in my experience, you can wash your hair while it stays twisted, and once you take down the twists that's another 3-7 day style.
It's how I never hit a plateau. My hair stays from bra band to hip length (sometimes this thick hair is heavy and summers are too hot) because I twist it up!
I’m going to have to start twisting my hair. I’ve been kind of stuck at waist length. I do wash and go most of the time. So my curly hair stays around shoulder length which is waist length straight. I’ve also been trimming more often and I can feel the difference. I’m also using sulfur 8, oil and massage to up my game.
Hair type 4a, b or c. Your hair looks lovely and your hair tips are great. I will concentrate on my ends more now

IVE BEEEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO!!!💖💖😍
I have middle back length natural hair. My hair journey became increasingly difficult as my short faze fazed out into the long length faze and honestly it's going to get harder from this point onward because of the length. It'd tangle easier because my hair was getting a little longer than normal and I was getting a little breakage, so I just kept twisting my hair and leaving it alone for like maybe 2-3 months before taking it out, washing and deep conditioning/moisturizing before re-twisting again and leaving it alone for 2-3 months, If I got box braids (which I feel grows my hair a lot faster) I can leave them in for 4-5 months. That's how I can retain my length and health of my hair. Also I trim my hair every 4 months, I cut off about an inch, not 'half and inch' but an inch when I do fresh twists.
Gorgeous head of hair
Thanks so much for the wonderful tips...

I'm a natural hair stylist who specializes in silk presses & she's right!!! I've grown my 4 c hair out a hundred times, and it's really super easy. Pre schedule your trims, I do mine 4 times a year. I keep a protective style in, and I don't use glue for wigs. I probably wash my actual hair once every 4-6 weeks and I detangle with a wide tooth comb. I only use organic oils for my scalp (wild growth oil, or sheshappyhair tea tree growth oil) and I really don't use a lot of products in my hair other than a heat protectant (yes even if you don't put heat on your hair, ESPECIALLY in the summer) and a leave in conditioner. I like sheshappyhair (they're black owned) & design essentials almond and avocado line. They also have great deep conditioners. and then I use manuka and honey oil to seal in my moisture. For me to avoid heat damage I only flat iron my hair 3/4 times a year but that's only when I'm not trying to grow it out.
hey I'm just trying to learn.. you said you wash your hair once every 4-6 weeks. how do you keep your ends moisturized? I was told by another natural hairstylist that true moisture is done every wash day and should be done every 7-10 days.
I haven’t heard a hairstylist advise washing hair every 4-6 weeks
@@ElTee519 That was written two years ago so my process has changed! Once every 4/6 was supposed to coincide with my comment of keeping a protective style (braids, twist, locs) in for a month and then cleansing and conditioning in between. Now that I wear my hair out more and it's longer, I wash about once a week or once every two weeks. Every 2 weeks works for me since I'll do a style like twist the first week and use no product outside of my styling crème or mousse. Then day 7 I'll take down my twist and mist my hair with warm water, detangle And wear it in a bun or do two plaits and wear my closure wig during the day if I have to be social and do things lol. I keep my ends moisturized by using regular old grease! Softee from the dollar store or the blue magic. You can also use a heavy oil on the ends like black castor oil. Everyone's hair and scalp are different :) if I feel like my hair is dirty or dry I'll absolutely wash earlier. My "wash days" realistically only take about an hour or an hour and a half if I'm actually doing something to my hair. I can cut that time down to about 30 minutes. Now that my hair is longer, it's a lot easier to style and my curl pattern has loosened up a tiny bit
@@eyekandy3000 hey I updated my comment! Just didn't feel like writing it twice lol
I still also, always, use a heat protectant! Especially in the south
Beautiful hair and awesome video Thanks!😊
I was frustrated at first but its about routine and understandance and at this point i actually enjoy my routine
Simple enough great tips Ty Titi 💕
Brittiney M, you’re very welcome 💞
Thanks for the tips doll!!
Blessings my dear. Excellent tips ...🙏🏽
What messed me up for YEARS is that I always "trimmed" my own hair...Nahhh after getting it PROFESSIONALLY CUT I now know I wasn't cutting anything LOL. You can't seen your split ends in the back. That and hairstylists can shape cut your hair which really effects the way your styles come out!! It's been 6 months since my first cut and my end are still thick and my hair is THRIVING. LET IT GOO YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!
Keratin treatments are amazing on kinky hair too but you have to make sure it’s a good keratin like keracare it doesn’t loosen
Ok...you know what I was about to say before them 2 min sis... much luv💕
Thanks for the encouragement!!xx
🤗 beautiful growth

Such wonderful hair tips 💞
I put cream/deep conditioner on my hair ends to keep it extra moisturized. I also like wearing Marley twists because it keeps my ends in.
Girl you made me trim my ends today 😂
I was about to drag her until i read that top comment. I don’t have 4c fair but i do have type 4 hair and i hate when people say they are 4c when they are not! Can’t stand it!!! That said a big things is the type of water you’re using in your hair!!! If you have hard water get a shower filter!!
What does water have to do with the type of hair you have? I’m confused
@@rae9499 Your curls that don't get enough moisture, can look smaller. Many ppl just have dry hair and call it 4c 💀. They don't understand why porosity matters and how to treat their hair. Then they come with those dumb, "4c can look like this" videos.
@@ruthydrawsalot1979 , thank you i just learned something about my hair.
Meribah McHayle thank you
