However, what really amplified my hair growth was my herbal powder drinks and covering my head with scarves. I started covering my hair last year when a stranger grabbed my hair on the train. This was not the first time a stranger grabbed my hair, but this time was different because he was so bold about it. I started to cover my hair because I was tired of people judging me for my hair and because I was afraid another stranger would grab me. I put on a silk scarf beneath the scarves and matched each scarf with my attire for the day. My hair felt softer and I barely had any knots using this method. The herbal powders, I would mix them in water, sometimes an individual powder and sometimes several powders. I was mainly doing this to help my teeth and gums which I have struggled with for a while. I knew my hair was growing from them because my eyelashes and nails became thicker. The powders I used the most were: chlorella, maca, blue spirulina, white oak bark, damiana, horsetail/shavegrass, baobab, red clover and lemon balm. I also poured in other liquids in the water like Ormus (monatomic gold), colloidal minerals and trace mineral drops. My hair may be waist length or a few inches from it but I'll see when I get my next trim.

Would love to see that next🥳🥳🥳🥳
Aye I'm watching this with mini/two strand twists in my hair. It has literally became my new favorite style next to a good wash n go. It's been really helpful for me in the summer. I usually do a few weeks of wash n go, then month of mini twists, really just do what is best for my hair and life at that time. Braiding at the root was such a life changer too. Omggggg! It really helped with the tangling. And I'm the same with how far down I braid it down. Twists have helped me retain length so much. I don't get trims often and every time I go to a salon they are always surprised by how healthy my ends are! Time and patience is gonna be the hurdle for me. But it's only on the retwist and takedown. To keep the parts I combine the process. That's why I can't do twists all the time. I need the 20min wash n go's to break the monotony and labor. That's why I do twists for a month then wash n go's for a few weeks. Cuz the more my hair grows the longer the retwist gets and I don't want to get lazy and take worse care of my hair. Excited for a mini twist series! ❤️
Thank you for your video. I have been doing TONS of research about locing my hair and this is a happy medium for me. This route will help me decide in a year from now if I really want to loc my hair or not🤙

I used to do mini twist in my hair back in 2015 my hair loved them!! I’ve been wearing tailbone length micros. I keep them in for 3 months. My hair is growing and maintains length but I feel as though it’s causing breakage. I’m back in school and my schedule is so hectic so the braids were so helpful. As I’m taking them out, I was trying to Dr if if I should just lock my hair again. But I never keep them in past 8 months 😅. I think I’m going to go back to mini twists. I like that it can be a longterm protective style but it’s not permanent like locs. It’s just going to be an adjustment. It feels awkward going from long hair to short lol. But it’s my hair and I love it🥰.
@@queennaturelle99 it’s been a journey. I’m at bra/mid back length currently. My current routine has been working wonders. So I’m hoping by this time next year I’ll have reached my goal 🤞🏽
hey, quick question how often do you take down your mini twists during the yr? Is it every two months for washing or do you watch them in the mini twist? Also do you recommend installing the twist on stretch hair/blow-out hair? because in your other videos, you emphasize blowing out your hair before installing the twist. Thanks for the tips btw
I wish you would've covered the following points: 1) Washing schedule for 1 install that last 2 months . Weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis? 2) Install Prep: Do you start on blow dried hair or on damp hair. At first, it seemed like you were starting on damp hair and then you moved on to blow dried hair. I'm just trying to understand the benefit of starting a fresh set of twists of blow dried hair. if your expected to moisturize every 5 to 7 days, wouldn't that be counterproductive? 3) Do you refresh/redo your twists around your forehead over a period of 2 months?
2 she do a blow out first. I just binge watched some of her videos and that’s what I gather. Hmmmm I do wonder do she wash it. But she gonna make me implement oil back into mines
When it comes to washing mini twists, everyone's outcome is different. In the 3.5 months that I wore mini twists, I washed my hair 3 times and had no problems. My cousin washed hers 2 times and her twists matted badly after 2 months, so now she will redo hers monthly.
Your hair pattern determines whether it would be prudent to wash and how often. I can’t wash my hair because in twists it will get matted and lock up. Due to that, I just clean my scalp and keep my twists moisturized.
Hey it will be nice to see how you maintain your mini twists, if you wash your hair with the mini twists in and how often, how long after washing you moisturize, how often you do a twist refresh or do you do over the entire thing
Hello. Peace and love. I had locs for 1 year and 3 months and I cut them off. I realize I miss my loose natural curly hair so my plan is to do the same as you are doing but I am doing a braid and twist journey but with extensions. So I will mainly do protective styles and wear my loose natural hair out every now and then. I did love my locs but I don’t think I will ever loc my hair again. Thank you for sharing. Peace, love and blessings 🌷💐💚💜💗
@@usainabolt5244 I keep them in about 2-3 weeks. I wash them while they are in, but I redo them after washing. Through trial and error I learned that I can’t wash them and leave them. The tangling is too much. I see other women who can though, so you may just have to see what works for you. I work out about 4 times a week, so I use aloe vera juice to cleanse my scalp in between washes.
@@usainabolt5244some people say 4 weeks but honestly you can go longer than that if you so wish. Just make sure you’re taking care of the hair or else it might get matted. Yes you can wash your hair while they are in and I guess how many times you want, just do retwists if you see any that unraveled
@@usainabolt5244 I leave them in for 3 weeks. I wash them while they are in, but then I redo them after washing. Washing them and leaving them doesn’t work for me, but I know some people do it.
mini braids are harder to take out imo because theyre more compact but they keep the hair more stretched than mini twist if i did braids id do them a little bigger so they aren’t super hard to take out
So helpful! Thank you! I started installing mini twist earlier this year, and I’m on my second install. Do you have tips or suggest washing your hair during the mini twist period?
Beautiful! I’m doing mini twists and trying to retain more length. Thanks for these tips! This hairstylist I went to several times discouraged me from using oil in my hair. Any thoughts on that ? So many natural girlies use oil and their hair flourishes so I really am confused by their recommendation.
I would love to be a mini twist babe but I have hands in hair syndrome so I’m opt to wear wig for the month of July then mini twist for August. Vise verse. I just big chopped major head damage from bra strap to a mini fro at lease my hair can still twist and braid in cornrow so I’m thankful for the length still , while I did my own big chop, it’s very choppy so I’m growing it out and in 3 months I’ll go get it shape up properly
Hey girl heyyyyy! After finding your channel I was devasted to see it wasn't active for long form 😭🫶🏾 You have convinced me to stick to mini twists rather than extensions. Less time to install, cheaper to keep up with. And I can't wait to get some henna!!
MaaamAAAaaa I swear..😩😩😩 I bought extensions to do knotless braids over 4 months ago but I still haven't opened the packs. I been doing mini twists.... besides, I actually like to wash and moisturize my hair with ease. Extensions just weigh my hair down and my hair does not retain moisture.
Loved the video! So informative and inspiring.💗 I would love to see a video on how and when you trim. Do you go to the salon or have you learned to trust yourself? Also, do you even plan to straighten?! Maybe a mini twist q&a?! Much love and thank you for sharing!
Hey! Thanks for your video and tips 😊 I used to wear mini twists for years and for some reason never saw length retention. When I wore mini braids I did see length retention 🤷🏿♀️ I'm not sure what I was doing wrong. May I ask how long you keep your mini twists in for? Do you wash your hair in twists? And can I ask if you swim much or are you active and sweat in your hair much? I hope you don't mind me asking these questions x
@@curlcodeblack I loved it! Been borrowing hair & had a sneaky feeling that's what was causing so much breakage during take down. Will definitely restart the twist in the future. Thank you🙏🏾
I'm really envious lol. Mini twists don't work out for me because I need to shampoo my scalp every 4-5 days. So stretching my hair and then doing mini twists is a waste. And even if I try to gently cleanse while wearing twists, they just tangle up and get puffy. I so wish I could just twist and leave my hair alone😔
@Carpathianpixie Yes, I try it that way too. Bigger twists with the roots braided do make a nice twist out for me. But I still can't leave them in...if I leave them in longer than a week they still tangle or start to loc up as well. 😒
Yeah I have to was wash my that often too. I just wash them in the twist & I don’t stretch beforehand. Just section my hair and twist on damp hair, just take your time during taking down.
I found that braids hold better for my hair type. My strands are very delicate like baby hair, and twists don't last 3 days , also subject to breaking Like strands of silk wound too tight, they snap
Are you washing with them in? And when u say weekly maintenance, are u just redoing a few? When you take them down, are you undoing the whole head at once and combing out the parts, washing, then re-parting? Or undoing one twist combing it out and redoing it one by one and keeping the parts? Lemme see if there’s a tutorial cuz I need more info. Trying to do this the right way
I went back to added hair and my scalp is itchy, it’s flakey, I have a bald spot now and I’m stressed. I’m taking my hair down and going back to my twist. I didn’t have any problems. Never. My stuff is so itchy. I am taking these twist down and Im sticking to my natural twist. If I’m looking for a look I’ll pop on one of my wigs. Im over it. I set myself back soo far by doing this style, I’m sad but I know I can get my bald spot back nice. I’ve done it already, and it didn’t include added/extra hair. My hair was bra strap back so this bald spot is on my heart, I can’t believe I did this to myself smh. I’ve learned my lesson frfr this time. This video just affirmed what I was doing was what I should have been doing, I’ll just stick to the script atp.
Thank you very much for this video, I'm looking to start my mini twist journey for hair growth too, please how often do you wash your hair now? I'm considering washing monthly instead of every two weeks like i currently do cause of i want to meet a stylist to install the twists and see if i can keep them looking neat and moisturized dor up to a month and if i decide to wash in between i feel thw hair will become very frizzy and way too unkept since o don't plan on retwisting till the month os over... Please just lemme know what you think per your experience?
No matter if i put my twists or braids it gets tangled at the ends. Think it's because I have a mixture of 3C and 4A hair. Yes I do moisturize. Plus by day 3 it's already messy so it's literally impossible to keep for more than a week.
Hey girl! Thank you for this video! Do you have a video with the products you use to keep the moisturized while in the style? I’m a visual learner 😅 7:01
Any idea why my mini twists look terrible after just 2 weeks? I have 4c natural hair and i can't keep my hair in for more than 2 weeks because it starts to "loc" up and become unbearably matted and the takedown process even with detangler is HELL and makes me lose so much hair :( I've been trying to figure what my issue is and i just think its my hair type. i also have a tendency to touch my hair a lot in twists and every day i'll make retwist one because it helps reduce stress of some sort. that could also be a factor as to why i barely retain any length.
Probably because the roots are not too tight. That is why from now on I don't keep my mini twists for 2 weeks, I only keep it for one week then take them down then re-twists my hair. Its a lot of work but I gotta do what I gotta do. I need my mini twists to stay fresh so one week mini twists for me.
Im sure you have used the camille rose honey leave in before. Would love to see how it works on your twists. I am not a huge fan of it but I am not fully against it either 😂.
I wished my mini twist would last a week. 2-3 days and it looks like I hade them for a month. Sometimes I leave them and just take a few days taking them down. I cannot retwist every few days, but I wish I could.
To help it stay longer: You can use a light amount of hair wax or Murray's beeswax, curl your ends, use a hair wrap or stocking cap to sleep - don't allow your hair to rub against anything thats not smooth.
That’s so normal, you can braid the root it helps. Mini twist don’t last long but you don’t have to retwist them when they start to be frizzy. Retwist after 2 weeks at most. Wear silk or satin scarf.
I prefer cornrows cause i feel it's less manipulation 😊when i do twists mine looks like it's some months old while it has only been one week😔thus i end up retouching them again 😩🥺💀

Currently also on a mini braids journey at the moment but i’m taking a break for the summer with my new goddess knotless braids i had done for my birthday a week ago🤗😍 Yes please start a mini twists series! That would be awesome!
For your next mini twists related video, may you please do a full detailed tutorial on how you moisturize your hair in mini twists/a mini twists maintenace video for hɔir growth? Would love to see that next🥳🥳🥳🥳
Putting my mini twist in rn😭man it’s been 2 days
It be like that! 😭

What’s your exact moisture routine? How many times a week, is there anything you do to avoid your hair mating; a specific way to apply moisturizer?
This route will help me decide in a year from now if I really want to loc my hair or not🤙
I will use this advice for when I do my kinda mini braids. My hands cramp when I do my twists or braids too small lol.
I wonna get to tailbone length too. Thanks for the info. I mainly do mini twists and ayurvedic masks.
WOW👌, this is a BLESSING✨️! Please 🥹give me more twist videos🙏🏾. It makes so much sense. 📝Wearing wrap, ✅️braiding the root, and weekly maintenance is the key🍾🥂.! I'm so excited to try this🤗. I was going into depression with my😢 hair. Doing so much work and not seeing the fruit. NOW, with this insight🤓, I truly believe my hair will grow so long😍🥰. ❤❤❤ Thank you, Darling! ❤❤❤
I’m a mini twist girlie as well so really appreciated your insights ❤
This video was everything I needed. Confirmation of what I've been wanting to do. 1 year micro loc'd, but prefer this method. Thanks for sharing sis.
Tailbone? I’m just trying to get to waist length 😭
You’ll get there. Slowly but surely. Just be sure to focus on length retention.
Meee! Just please Lord let me hit that 20 inches 😭
Me toooo
@@queennaturelle99 it’s been a journey. I’m at bra/mid back length currently. My current routine has been working wonders. So I’m hoping by this time next year I’ll have reached my goal 🤞🏽
@@alaysiab and you’ll get there hun, I know so.
hey, quick question how often do you take down your mini twists during the yr? Is it every two months for washing or do you watch them in the mini twist? Also do you recommend installing the twist on stretch hair/blow-out hair? because in your other videos, you emphasize blowing out your hair before installing the twist. Thanks for the tips btw
I recently just came out of mini twists that lasted two months (yeah I know) hair definitely got longer but boyyy my ends were in dire need of a trim
I wish you would've covered the following points:
1) Washing schedule for 1 install that last 2 months .
I thought this was a two strand twist tutorial I enjoy watching those
Hey it will be nice to see how you maintain your mini twists, if you wash your hair with the mini twists in and how often, how long after washing you moisturize, how often you do a twist refresh or do you do over the entire thing
I retain so much length doing mini twists. I retain about 1.5 inches every 2 months.
How long do you keep them in? And do you wash them while they're in, and how often?
I’m still at the twa phase and my hair only wants to be in a fro 😭 I’ll get there
Great video! Question : Have you ever done mini braids before? If no, would you do mini braids on yourself?
mini braids are harder to take out imo because theyre more compact but they keep the hair more stretched than mini twist if i did braids id do them a little bigger so they aren’t super hard to take out
can you do a detailed maintanence week in your life of your twists as well as wash day? Like do you still use rosemary water to keep your scalp clean?
So helpful! Thank you! I started installing mini twist earlier this year, and I’m on my second install.
Do you have tips or suggest washing your hair during the mini twist period?
A video on how you do mini twist.
Do you use inion juice as a method of growth for your hair because of the sulfur
I wear my mini twists under my headband wig or vpart wig. It’s a game changer!
Hey girl heyyyyy! After finding your channel I was devasted to see it wasn't active for long form 😭🫶🏾
You have convinced me to stick to mini twists rather than extensions. Less time to install, cheaper to keep up with. And I can't wait to get some henna!!
MaaamAAAaaa I swear..😩😩😩
I bought extensions to do knotless braids over 4 months ago but I still haven't opened the packs. I been doing mini twists.... besides, I actually like to wash and moisturize my hair with ease. Extensions just weigh my hair down and my hair does not retain moisture.
@@QueenMufasa552 Exactly!
Loved the video! So informative and inspiring.💗 I would love to see a video on how and when you trim. Do you go to the salon or have you learned to trust yourself? Also, do you even plan to straighten?! Maybe a mini twist q&a?! Much love and thank you for sharing!
Hey!
Thanks for your video and tips 😊
I used to wear mini twists for years and for some reason never saw length retention. When I wore mini braids I did see length retention 🤷🏿♀️
I'm not sure what I was doing wrong.
May I ask how long you keep your mini twists in for? Do you wash your hair in twists? And can I ask if you swim much or are you active and sweat in your hair much?
I hope you don't mind me asking these questions x
Can you please do a video on re-doing mini twist for maintenance when it gets frizzy
Thanks for the tips. My hair is so thick so i keep my hair in chunky twists most of the time.
I'm EARLY.....
Love to learn from you❤
@@ashleighcharakupa7837 hey Queen!! 🩷 thank you for tuning in! I really hope you enjoyed the video! 🥰
@@curlcodeblack
I loved it! Been borrowing hair & had a sneaky feeling that's what was causing so much breakage during take down. Will definitely restart the twist in the future. Thank you🙏🏾
Very good advice on caring for your hair, it makes perfect sense what you said.
Do you ever do styles with extensions or strictly natural twists?
I'm really envious lol. Mini twists don't work out for me because I need to shampoo my scalp every 4-5 days. So stretching my hair and then doing mini twists is a waste. And even if I try to gently cleanse while wearing twists, they just tangle up and get puffy. I so wish I could just twist and leave my hair alone😔
Same, mine start to lock up. I'm going to try starting the twist as a braid instead so the roots don't tangle and also make them a little bigger.
@Carpathianpixie Yes, I try it that way too. Bigger twists with the roots braided do make a nice twist out for me. But I still can't leave them in...if I leave them in longer than a week they still tangle or start to loc up as well. 😒
I had to change to mini braids instead maybe that would be better cause mg hair locs uo 2 😭
Yeah I have to was wash my that often too. I just wash them in the twist & I don’t stretch beforehand. Just section my hair and twist on damp hair, just take your time during taking down.
Are you Canadian? You sound Canadian Jamaican. You sound like Ika Wong or some other Jamaican Canadians I follow
@@HairByPierre I actually am Jamaican Canadian love!! 🇯🇲 🇨🇦
I was thinking the same thing so I decided to check the comments to see if anyone had already asked this question 😊. I love Canadian accents❤
Thanks for these great tips! can you share where you get your headwraps pls 👀?
I found that braids hold better for my hair type.
My strands are very delicate like baby hair, and twists don't last 3 days , also subject to breaking
Like strands of silk wound too tight, they snap
My density tho. So much scalp would be showing 😩😭. Your hair is gorgeous 😍
I love your content! Starting my mini twist journey today 🎉 where do you get your head-wraps from?
I was very disappointed that you didn’t show us how you did your mini twists.
She has another video showcasing that
Are you washing with them in? And when u say weekly maintenance, are u just redoing a few? When you take them down, are you undoing the whole head at once and combing out the parts, washing, then re-parting? Or undoing one twist combing it out and redoing it one by one and keeping the parts? Lemme see if there’s a tutorial cuz I need more info. Trying to do this the right way
Im so interested in the black stretchy scarf. Do tell?.. 😊
It would be nice if you included the pics of the products that you use.
I so agree with the mini twist best of both worlds
I love your hairrrrrr 😊 no but once I left heat alone it’s finally growing back ☺️ I’m not even going to use a comb anymore and my hair sheds less ❤
What leave-in are using actually ? And what is your top 3 fav leave-in please ? 🥰
i still use the LOC method. liquid oil and cream and seal ends with shea butter.
Thank you so so much!! This video was so informative💖
You're so welcome!🥰🩷
Is doing mini twists on blowed dried hair bad? Like does blow drying cause more damage?
Do you wash your hair while the mini twists are in and how often?
@curlcodeblack What do you mean by moisturized? What does that look like? Spray in conditioner?
Do you have short pieces of hair at the root? Is that breakage or is that shedded hair growing back?
This is SUPER helpful!!! Thank you so much ❤
You're so welcome! 🥰🥰
What is your Wash routine for the mini twists
She has a shorts video showing her wash day :)
What kind of cream and leave in do you use?
I love this. Thank you for sharing! ❤
You are so welcome!🥰🫶🏾
Im sure you have used the camille rose honey leave in before. Would love to see how it works on your twists. I am not a huge fan of it but I am not fully against it either 😂.
I wished my mini twist would last a week. 2-3 days and it looks like I hade them for a month. Sometimes I leave them and just take a few days taking them down. I cannot retwist every few days, but I wish I could.
Have you tried using a silk scarf before bed? It helps reduce frizz
Mini braids last way longer than twists, and can withstand being washed without getting tangled
@@ELLAWARD of course. And pillow cases, sheets, and bonnets. It is just the nature of my hair.
I prefer cornrows cause i feel it's less manipulation 😊when i do twists mine looks like it's some months old while it has only been one week😔thus i end up retouching them again 😩🥺💀
Don’t your hair start locking with keeping twist in for that long? I kept mine in for 1 month and it started locking up.
Mine does. That is why I only keep it for like 1-2 weeks.
Can you please please please make a video explaining how to keep mini twist from getting soo tangle and matted.
whenever i install my twist, in one week or two weeks it so frizzy.

Where do you get your wraps?
My hair starts to lock in between other twist at the root. I thought it was because I was parting sloppy.
I just started mini braids on 6/22/24. After a recent cut, I’m right above bra/mid back length. I feel like after each trim I’m somehow at this same spot. I’m hopeful to reach tailbone length within a year. I’m also doing other aggressive growth methods.
Thank you for that even hair on both sides tip! I definitely borrow hair from the other side and that’s probably where I get my single knot when taking it out
My daughter’s hair locked up free 4 weeks. I don’t know how your hair didn’t lock unless you have a looser curl pattern.
Your hair is beautiful 😍
Great information. Tfs.
I have long hair, but a lot of breakage so doing mini twists get very messy and they look a hot mess.
That is why I do mini twists every 1-2 weeks.
