my iphone is also stuck in recovery and even tho its plugged in it says it doesn't find a connected iphone
You just saved my wife from losing a handful of pictures and videos today of our boys playing soccer. She tried to update her phone after the game, but it got stuck in recovery mode. The only option I thougth we had was to completely reset/jailbreak her phone. Then I stumbled upon your video, and with my MacBook I was able to save her pics. She hadn't backed up her phone for some time.

Although this video is over 2 years old, it still works for iPhone 5. I recently updated to iOS 6.0.1, and it got stuck in the end at Recovery Mode. I followed his instructions and got the phone out of it.

Bought Ipod touch on craiglist with OS3, tried to update to OS in iTune (Windows XP) and get stuck in recovery mode. Couple of time restarted PC - same.
And finaly found this video - tried blackrain and it DID WORK.

My wife stuck in in a bag of white rice for 3 weeks to dry out every last bit of moisture, I ran the usb utility and iRecovery and presto the phone is working again. MIRACLE! Hey man, thanks. Ive been trying to fix my phone after os4 beta expiring and your instructions got me through it. Everyone else who tried to explain this didnt explain how to use terminal like you did. Also you included the links to the stuff you need. I did however try this on my home comp and it didnt work. Wouldnt recoginse iphone. I simply tried the same set of instructions on a didderent comp and it worked! Thanks.

@The12FEAR1 Dude, it doesn't matter what firmware version you're running on your iPhone. When you run blackra1n while phone is in recovery mode / boot loop, it doesn't jailbreak. It just kicks it back into the regular state of the device. Sure you can use limera1n, but it isn't good at kicking out. The only purpose of using blackra1n anymore is for this purpose. :)
Thanks, that worked for me. Wouldn't have thought of running blackra1n. It looked like it locked up but I unplugged it and forced a reboot and all is well.

Dude! All I can say is much much thanks! Every other solution had failed me...button combinations, TinyUmbrella, BlackRain, etc. A combination of bad luck events made me think I had lost everything (backups gone in iTunes and the iPad stuck in "Plug In to iTunes and Restore" mode. This is going into the favorites, as I can see this happening to others that I support.
Mine don´t say Process Completed? mine is just saying, Closing USB connection??? i am still stuck :( iPhone 3GS 8Gb and it´s never been jailbroken!

Hi, i have a iPhone 2, and it is locked in recovery mode, no matter what i do, nothing seems to work. I have tried: iRecovery, limera1n, & blackrain. but all i still have on the screen in the USB cable to Itunes, i only bought this second hand yesterday, it was working, i connected it to itunes to back it up, but it said i was required to recover, so i pressed recover, and it has been stuck like this since.
Any help would be appreciated.

@AshleyHarles yes...Leopard and Snow Leopard are just the names of Mac OSes. (Like Windows XP, Vista, etc.) This how-to video only covers the bases for Mac users.

I have a iphone 3GS that was also getting hung up during restore ending with a an "1002 error." Went through your process using LibUSB and iRecovery and now itunes says I don't have a sim card. I've tried cleaning, re-inserting the sim card several times and nothing.

I can do everything you've instructed but not at the end.... My home button for my itouch 4g doesn't work. When I press it, there is no click sound. It was stuck yesterday until I rubbed in rubbing alcohol. My itouch has been stuck in recovery mode since yesterday and I desperately do not want to lose ANYTHING. I couldn't backup all of my data because my laptop would become extremely slow. It is also damaged... If you find any other way to go out of recovery mode without using the home button..

i still have i problem with my iphone 3g when i restore it it works and it shows the recovery logo still but you can use emergency calls but when i restart it i goes back to recovery mode any help??

@GDLutz Restore. But not from back-up. That will get rid of it.
mine continues to go into recovery mode, even DFU mode doesnt help.
when i try to restore it starts for a while but at 5% progress it reboots and its back in recovery mode

Depends on what you're trying to restore it to. Apple has stopped signing everything prior to 4.0.2, so unless you have backed up your SHSH blobs, 4.0.2 is your only option.
Hi! just got out from it, make sure you have redsn0w (google if you dont know).
You would need to do up to his last terminal command but do not restart or remove it from cable. so open redsn0w, click on "Extra" then "Recovery fix" it will ask you to put it on DFU mode. DO NOT CLICK YET. HOLD power and home button until its all empty (black screen). Then proceed click on Next button and just follow through instructions.
I have an iphone 3g, but you said that Blackrain won't work with Iphone 3g.. and I use a windows computer instead of a mac. so I cant use iRecovery. so now what do I do?

Little Note:
When you experience this problem of loading emblem when you have a replaced digitizer. The reason will lay in the hardware rather than the software. Often the Little Flexcable (3) will loosen and the Phone will get stuck after the loading emblem.

Not sure what is happening to my phone but the apple logo keeps popping up and when I follow your instructions in terminal my mac doesn't recognize my phone? whats up with this? I have changed usb ports.

ok so my ipad 2 is jailbroken with cydia. ive tried recboot 1 and 2, blackrain, redsnow and it still wont stop recovery mode. so now what can i try aside from restore? im running win 7.

iRecovery and LibUSB along with Terminal worked like a charm for the iphone 4. You give very simple instructions and it's easy to follow. My iphone 4 was locked in DFU mode and I thought all was lost. I followed the instructions and it rebooted as if straight outta the box.

My iPhone 4 is stuck with the part with the spinning wheel? Someone please? I tried to use the erase all info with it being jailbroken and it was stuck with the spinning thingy for a while
when i finish with terminal i type the command 'exit' however it doesnt give me the prompt that the process has completed. this doesnt work for me. i have an iphone 3gs and im using irecovery and lilbusb on snow leopard

how do I get out of recovery on iPod Touch 2nd Gen 4.0 ?
I've run the iRecovery software and rebooted as described. However, upon iphone restart the USB ITunes screen comes up and I plug in cable and upon restore it locks up again as if I had never done anything at all.
Ideas?
