For those interested in the Genki covert dock: Asus’ ROG Gaming Charger Dock has been on sale a lot recently and does the same thing with 60W power instead of 45W. I’ve even seen ROG Ally deals that include the carrying case and dock for around €599, which feels like a good deal to me.
The solution to devices that use AA batteries is using rechargeable AA batteries. I even have a couple of AA batteries with USB-C ports for recharging them.

I always look forward to these videos you do with interesting useful products. I swear all these other channels are just shilling random products they get paid. But genuinely, almost every product you mentioned seemed useful and could fit into my life perfectly. And some of them are great gift ideas too, like that wallet tracker thing. Perfect. Please keep making these types of videos.
Love these videos, Quinn. Bought my first sponsored YT product today with the Laifen. Thanks for having integrity with your ads and including products people will actually like.
Using the RF dongle with Home Assistant is really cool; I hadn't seen it done, but I have one of those dongles and some similar temperature sensors not hooked to my weather station that connects to Home Assistant, too. A full Ambient Weather weather station connects to Home Assistant, adding a lot of additional data for "smart" things, and they are not too expensive.
I am a nerd like you, and here's a fun one; Try the Ikea Eneby 20, or however it's called these days. Their 20x20cm 2-way bluetooth speaker. It's 60 bucks, and it has no business sounding as good as it does. Blows everything I've heard out of the water when it comes to refined sound from a bluetooth speaker. And yes I've heard the Devialet Phantom. More often than I'd like to admit. It's loud. And that's all it is. Also THANK YOU for calling it a line-in and not an 'aux port'. THANK YOU!
“Japan is famous for being 20 years ahead and 30 years behind” As someone who has lived here in Japan for the last 20 years, this is so very true. I can wipe my ass with a robot, but heaven forbid we get central air conditioning or a front loading dish washer.
Yessssssss here for the kobo love because they don't get enough of it!! all amazon has on them is a bit more of a bot selection but I love that the homepage of my kobo isn't constantly trying to sell me something, it just centres my books.
Have a small section of yard that eventually will be replaced by my house addition down the road. After pricing out how much it would be for a ditch-witch for the day, pipe, and sprinklers, I found OtO and instantly bought. Excited for it to come and get it set up!
That was our other consideration for the grass back there! It works super well and their acid neutralizer for dog pee is awesome. May buy another one for the front yard just to throw the chemicals on it.
I'm here to approve the Sage recommendation. I have it and it's the best purchase I've made in a very long time. Battery could get a little better, but no big deal. Device is amazing.
Hey, if you want a more compact speaker, I can recommend the minirig. It has a 40W amp and can get stupid loud. Sound quality is ok and it is just 1 driver. Simple and works.
Thank you Quinn. I got the tooth brush and the card board knife. tooth brush is great although for me maybe too strong still very cool and the knife is great. Excellent recommendations.
I'm such a stat and tuning nerd I have an entire screen dedicated to having HWiNFO open so I can monitor temps and fan speeds and power draw cuz I find it neat (and also want to make sure my tuning profiles are applied). Those VU meters are so amazing I think I might just buy a few... damn you Quinn and having good recommendations!
I’ve been using a microfiber cloth to clean my iPad, but this product is actually genius and I won’t have to breathe around my screen all the time. There’s a four pack on Amazon now for $8 I bought.
I got some generic brushes for sonicare, from Amazon and they were virtually identical (even in black too) and a fraction of the price, change once a month like you should sonicare heads for best cleaning.
Those Laifen toothbrushes are one of those things that everybody should buy right now before they become illegal. I bought one and it's like it's brushing my brain. I'm sure it exceeds some safe vibration limits.
Finally! Someone who sings the praises of overdrive!! Well, it's called Libby now. I would much rather listen to as many audiobooks as I want for free, rather than paying a subscription for Audible and getting a single book per month. Thankfully, I have cards for 8 separate libraries so what I want to read is very often available from at least one of them.
Great recommendations as always, Quinn, even if I’ll end up buying none of it. The headphones look absolutely amazing and if they’re really as good as you say they are, $700,- is more than a fair price. But as someone that considers the Beats Fit Pro the best earbuds he’s ever used, I’m not nearly enough of an audiophile to justify purchasing them. Same for the Bluetooth speaker, which is a really enticing last minute purchase for vacation, especially knowing my friends will likely bring their JBL Flip. And even though $300,- seems like a fair price for a powerful Bluetooth speaker, I’ll probably only use it on vacation. The Kobo Sage is another great recommendation and I consider an ereader essential for vacation. But I already have the Kobo Forma, which still works well enough. The Genki dock does pretty much the same as the ROG gaming charger dock, which I recently bought on sale for €35,- and provides 60W instead of Genki’s 45W. The tracking card is another great recommendation that isn’t for me, but would probably make a good present for one of my friends. All in all, good selection of interesting products, but none that are for me. Which is a rarity for you. Every time you do one of these videos, I end up buying at least one of the things you recommend. Can’t bat 1.00 all the time I guess. Still a great video, though. Please never change your enthusiasm for interesting gadgets.
Hey really like your Videos especially those that help me increase my efficiency. Even thought the imperial measurements are probably more familiar to you, would it be a problem for you to start adding an approximation for the metric system, since probably a lot people can't tell how long a feet or a yard is? If not, that's totally fine, I'll probably need to figure out myself how to convert it, but it would please me a lot! Anyways, thank you for your content!

You know, those little VU meters give some interesting ideas for gifts. Buying a set of them, 3D printing them with a laptop dock, and you'd have basically an 80's style "tape deck" like what was used in recording studios. And at only $140 for a set... that's cheap enough I wouldn't mind paying someone to get other options for readouts. Volume for channels in Logic, as an example.
I got one of those generic screen cleaners and it scratched my phone as well as the cloth snagging and peeling off on the first use. I coughed up and got the Paperlike equivalent, perfect!
Yeah, when you’re cleaning a display, never spray directly at it. Spray at the cloth! It’s gentler to the screen and you never get spray marks if it dries faster than you wipe
If I’m paying that much for headphones they’re; Reference / flat EQ (so you hear the music the way the artist and producer did in the studio), open backed (for a natural sound stage), and have both wired and wireless functionality (wired for latency and fidelity when mastering/playing, wireless for convenience when listening).
Flat EQ is boring, it’s not 2014 anymore. Open back is great for headphones at home. Not for headphones on the go. And this is both wired and wireless as stated.
@@snazzy Flat EQ gives you the option and flexibility to customise the EQ through software. You can choose to hear it as the artist intended, or tune it to your liking depending on genre or mood. Any EQ choices or audio treatment baked into the hardware takes that choice away from you, as you don’t have a neutral point of reference.
