Temu is the Chinese shopping website that has taken the United States by storm. The prices are crazy. Too crazy. It's estimated Temu is burning in excess of $1 billion per year on loss leaders to break into the US market. It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see how it plays out for them. I purchased a bunch of Apple knock-off accessories; from fake AirPods to an Apple Pencil. Shall we see if any counterfeit product is any good?
PSA: This video is not sponsored and I bought all these products myself. I do not care if you like Temu or not. Temu is probably not a place you want to shop (everyone knows the Chinese government and its state-backed businesses suck), but it’s currently the #1 app in the USA so I felt I had to check it out.
Maybe don't tell a whole country of people that they suck?
“I had to check it out” That’s what they all say 😂
@@adityachawla3189 Most people in China (like any other country) are great. But the Chinese government and state-backed businesses suck. This is what I refer to when I invoke the country’s name-the state.
@@adityachawla3189He clearly didn't say the people suck. I can confirm, the CCP and state backed businesses do suck. Also the small to medium sized scam shops that lie to US consumers about the capabilities of the products on stores like Amazon while farming reviews also suck. There are privately owned businesses In China that do good and innovative work. In my experience, the vast majority are not good companies.
Appreciated the vid.
What's a bit of IP theft in the name of a bargain?

Gotta pay the bills, man.
That is the price for being independent.

@@JeskidoYTwell, inside the apple niche he's kinda the anti apple hardware niche.
“This is maybe… 4 inches? A size I’m rather familiar with.” This came so far out of left field 🤣 8:48

“a size I’m not really familiar with”
Damn, I was bouta comment this…
Seems pretty big to me.
The fake airtag is actually better than a real one for something like a bike. The fact that it doesn't look like an airtag along with the precise tracking being bad would make it difficult for a thief to find and dispose of it
Bruh, don't be poor. You can always buy an airtag case so your airtag doesn't look like an airtag
@@hid4 Bruh, that's not the point. I want it to be worse so it's harder to find. Maybe you've never seen the locate function on an actual Airtag but any iphone will tell you where it is within centimeters. The fact that the fake one isn't able to be precisely tracked is the feature. Also, don't buy Apple products. The stuff they make might be well-made but they're terribly anti-consumer (not that supporting China is any better)
@@oat1000 They aren't very well made either.
@oat1000 Do you know if the fake airtag will let the thief know he's being tracked? Apparently a real airtag will automatically alert a person that they are being tracked and I've heard that feature can't be turned off.
Dude there is not only AirTags that look like a tracking. Anyone could identify these as a tracker even if it’s not a AirTag. Maybe you need to hide it better 🤷♂️
I prefer your unscripted videos over the scripted ones. They have a genuine spontaneity and an “unplanned” feel to them.
yeah this was hilarious
Nn ml😅 opmkykm moon
gee i wonder why
Also shows a lot of his personality which I like. Makes him way more likeable.
@@PhaythGaming _Exactly._
Honestly that knock off airtag is solid. Ive noticed a lot of range issues when the official airtag is in a bag/obstructed
Really cause ive tracked my luggage across the globe.... no issues,
I don’t mind knock offs that much when they are cheaper and transparently listed as such, but once I bought AirPods from a reputable store front, paid full price, and when I got them they seemed legit, I never had originals, their paired like real AirPods, had serials numbers and all, but they were counterfeit. They sounded alright. The only giveaway was the transparency mode that was unreliable, so I returned it.
Yeah that’s bad. Sadly, counterfeits are often sold as, well, counterfeits.
My partner had the same thing. Her brother bought her what he thought were genuine AirPod Pros as a suprise before a long trip. They were in uncanny valley territory from the moment we opened the package. I went and grabbed my own and sure enough, there were everso slight differences but they were fakes. They paired like normal AirPods, and the case and AirPods themselves looked and felt like the real things, but as soon as you started to dig below the surface things weren't right. Handoff didn't work, or any of the transparency modes. The tips weren't removable (I broke one trying to remove them and they also broke super easily). The serial numbers were duds when you checked on Apple's website. The markings on the product and packaging were convincing but completely wrong, the font was also ever so slightly different. I didn't want to crush my partners spirits, but we got her brothers money back and he went and grabbed some from Apple directly. Such a waste of time and makes what is a cherished memory a tarnished one. The scammer doesn't get the money anyway and its just e-waste thats being shipped around the world.
@@DanielEvansMusic apple did make that iOS update that detects counterfeits. but I wonder if they managed to get around that.
@@JellyLancelot in my case it was even wilder, I got the serial number and called apple support to verify, and they said all checks out, and they put 1 year warranty on them. but yeah, handoff and transparency modes were the only hints to figure out they were fake.
where did you buy them lol?
I'm a photographer and use the Apple Pencil 2 with my iPad Pro to edit photos. I've already had to replace the Pencil once because i lost it. I don't need the pressure sensitivity so this looks like a very viable option. Thanks!
My wife bought a few pair of the AirPod 2 knockoffs for 3 bucks a piece. They were horrible, but the kids liked them, so I guess it’s good for that. I will say growing up, I used even worse headphones, haha.
yeah i am sure u didn't buy the actural knockoff from china, those are liturally identical to apples (size, color, iphone pop up, battery, sound quality and noice cancellation) not joking under 10 bucks here i can buy all that and if i don't like it i can return it for free with full money back (no cost for me if it's shit)
@@TomiWebPro rofl, I’ve had my fair share of Chinese knockoffs from Taobao. Only things I could afford when I was a poor college kid in tianjin. Not knocking the quality, you often get a better bang for your buck, but there is still a difference. There is also varying levels of quality between knockoffs.
@@Alex-jv6ye Yes I agree, however TaoBao in china is already the LV brand in western countries, we use pinduoduo more often. Pinduoduo gave a platform to the knockoffs to sell and to compete (both in price and quality). All the "consumer protection" I've talked about in my previous comment avoided bad knockoffs to be sold on the platform, which have resulted in decent quality amongst most of the knockoffs I am able to purchase in China. This company, pinduoduo, is the og company and investor of TEMU in US.
Honestly, the tracker's performance seems a lot like my experience with an actual AirTag. I wonder how it performs regarding notifying others that an item/AirTag is traveling with them.
The same way
I mean in a forest preserve the likelihood to be accurately tracked would be lower on a real AirTag too
@@whyeven.1302Makes sense since the airtag depends on being in proximity to people using iPhones as I understand it.
He has a good point about the more money you spend on batteries, bluet tooth, charging case, sensors etc the less you spend on drivers. This is why I really miss headphone ports. I don't like to spend much on headphones because I lose them ALL the time. I used to buy Panasonic Ergofit ear buds 3 at a time for $10 each and those sounded surprisingly good, almost as good my current $250 airpods pro (and I'm on my 2nd pair of those already)
This video was so good the counterfeit pencil sold out immediately 😂
its obv an advertisemnet tho for a company that abuses workers
@@patrickhanna5251 like apple with the foxcon suicide nets? smh
Your personality finding the AirTag is so soothing )
As an artist and iPad user almost 24/7 of my waking hours, I gotta say, if I got an iPad mini, I’d consider getting this pencil for it. But definitely need the pressure and double tap on my iPad Pro when I’m drawing art.
I've never been disappointed about the purchases I bought on those Chinese sites. Tho I do only buy specific stuff. Eg. Components to repair electronics like new battery, new screen etc, Hdmi cables, Usb cables, m2 pcie cards, msata/m2 to sata adapters. I know how cheap they are to make. Amazon and the like sell exactly the same but at a x5 price. Brand names obv I don't buy at those stores.
u do right!!!same with me.
Some reputable vendors mix counterfeits in with the real stuff.
Hurts the good guys, and makes price an unreliable indicator.
Cords, bats, and chargers won't hurt anything, right?
Many have gotten so dicey that you have to watch everything they do now. Shipping cost , dates, quality.
Past reliability has lulled many into complacency.
I bought a new motherboard at the recommendation of a RUclipsr off of Alibaba that had an overclocked mobile 11th gen i9 soldered to the board. It's absolutely fantastic. Relatively high performance being an overclocked i9 but very low power draw compared to a true desktop chip so lower energy bills and only needed a very basic cooler. It was a little over $200 and looks bootleg as hell but I dig it.
Electronic components are very different to counterfeit products, which Quinn is promoting here. Counterfeit products are intellectual and copyright theft. Companies spend vast amounts on R’n d to produce products like these. whether you like the AirPods or not getting identical ones probably produced with slave labour and sold on an app that steals your personal data is probably not something you should be doing if you want to continue to be able to buy new tech products (or promoting in a vid if you’re a “tech” RUclipsr, who wants to keep his credibility).
“Maybe 4 inches, a size Im rather familiar with” got me dying on the floor 😂
😂😂😂 the $hort cord joke cracked me up… but then when you chuckled at your own joke 🤣🤣🤣
WHY IS THIS VIDEO SO FUNNY, I CANT ON THE PARTS WHEN ITS LIKE QUIET 😭😭😭😭😭😭
14:00 I was amazed one time using my airpods pro that I could run around a running track with 50 other people running at the same time and didn't lose the Bluetooth connection. So challenge was not only the distance (maxed at around 150m) but also all the other people with their own smartphones etc.
This is a Temu ad without trying to be a Temu ad 😂
The humor in your videos are the best, keep it up man! 😂😅
Why does that store look like knockoff AliExpress? 😀
LMAO - A knock off of a knock off. It's just china for you. Ali Express is actually a knock off of a Chinese version made for English speaking countries.
The only good Chinese website is Taobao.
@@snazzy haha truu
Taobao and PDD are both big e-commerce websites in China. AliExpress and Temu are their overseas counterparts respectively. PDD is known for its lower prices and insane subsidies but also kind of shady shopping experience, so no wonder things are the same for Temu.
Knock off stores now have knock offs😭
I love finding good knock offs and counterfeits.
I once found a pair of gen 3 “AirPods” that none of the people I showed it to could differentiate from actual AirPods. The only thing that differentiated was the sound quality, where the AirPods were significantly better, but no one called the counterfeits bad. And it even connected like AirPods.
25 bucks.
It’s incredible the variety you can find between different counterfeits though. So. Finding good stuff is a genuine skill.
@@brettone2002 Because I find it fun to find good knock offs. That's basically the first sentence of my comment.
Also those original JBLs are often made in the same factory in China or Vietnam that the Knock-offs are. So you can get really solid quality. There's different grades.
But yeah, I just think it's neat. That's the main reason.
Quinn I work at an AASP we've been getting counterfeit AIrPod Pros for a few months now in for service. They are doing a great job cloning genuine serial numbers that show up in Apple GSX as AirPod Pros and then the scammers are opening repairs in multiple locations to attempt get them replaced under a repair program. Once you start inspecting them the fakes are so bad, the serial numbers aren't printed properly and the font used on the back of the case really off not to mention the kerning.
I like Temu better than Wish. I like the interface better, even though the products are about the same. I don't know why anyone would think that things here are top quality. I expected them to be cheap, and if they work adequately, then that's a bonus.
Definitely not top quality, but for the price, you can't complain. I bought knitting supplies there and they're actually real nice, especially the yarn! Surprisingly super soft.
your would be surprised i purchased clothes from there to experiment and they were shein quality. they were really soft and well made. Temu is underrated but with some items the price and quality is very low however simple shopping for accessories like some sunglasses will be worth it
Your temu link goes to the site in general, not the items. Given their quick turnover of products, I'm not surprised.
Bruh that breaking the fake airtag part was the funniest thing I've seen on youtube in forever 😂😂😂
Temu is a gold mine. I say mine because there is a surplus of items to choose from...you just don't know which ones will blow up lol, Amazing vid! I gave my 4 yr old an iPad Air 5th generation and was concerned she would break the Apple Pencil I purchased for it so the one you covered will be her replacement. Please review more efficient/sufficient cheap tech.
Dude! What a great channel, and energy. Keep up ypthe brilliant work bud
For what it's worth, Chipolo sells trackers compatible with Find My (basically a better version of the off brand AirTags in the video)
Are there no laws against using your phone while driving in the US?
At 1.5x speed with Quinn in a tree, he seemed like a giant squirrel 😂😂😂😂
This test of walking away to test range is deceiving because of the buffer, you can assure if it's the range that is good or the buffer that is hiding the problema by the time it takes to reconnect, here I have one that I can walk by like 3 rooms and it still playing, dropping out when I'm already coming back (and the buffer ends) and only reconnecting when I'm very very close to the device.
I almost burst out laughing at work over “(this cable) has to be about 4”, a size im very familiar with” 😂
I love bargain stuff. I got my wife an open-box legit apple pencil 2 shipped for around $50 from ebay. I've also received counterfeit ones that were sold as legit, thankfully the sellers took them back after I provided all the proof that they were counterfeit. And then I have a regular knock off for myself for $20 that works just fine for my needs. I found that while the knock off is just fine for me, it does tend to be finicky waking up quite often, where the real pencil "just works" no matter what. Good stuff! I like seeing things like this covered :)
interesting fact, the fake airtag is the same find my tracker that walmart’s in house brand sells. while it might work for a few months it will just stop working for no good reason
just a couple things here. that exact same battery is used in literally BILLIONS of things. i have to car keys with the same battery. the in ear temperature gauge i use for my children uses the same battery and clearly the air tag does, as well as the same 'find me' tag android use. and also, that noise on your phone, its your notification tone. so every time you get a notification, that tone sounds!
Nooo 😭
Pen pressure sensitivity is so important for me. Guess I better start saving.
The reason why the knock off pencil didn’t work initially was because the Apple Pencil was already paired. Idk why knockoffs refuse to work when the Apple Pencil is connected. Disconnect the Apple Pencil or turn off Bluetooth in the settings app, not the Bluetooth in control center, and it will work. You can also dual wield knock off pencils.
We did this but still couldn’t get it to pair without using the Bluetooth menu. Anyways, not a big deal.
Maybe if people would read the directions before they used something then it would work properly, I noticed a lot of Apple Geek's love to try and make a fool of knock off apple products, but consumers clearly know that they are KNOCKOFF'S , why not make a video comparing The Worst to The Best knockoffs?
"The tips feel similar, which is important" Had me rolling
I was wanting to buy the official Apple MagSafe battery for my iPhone but on eBay and marketplace for a better deal, the vast majority were questionable and difficult to tell whether fake or genuine.
I tend to see a LOT of people with fake AirPod max as well
Just get the Anker one
@@brandon_nope Absolutely correct @Brandon!
Counterfeit Bats and chargers are a big no go.
But , hey, apple products are cheap, so just chance it!
@@brandon_nope can’t reverse wireless charge it, doesn’t show battery life in widget, doesn’t fast charge. So on, so forth
@@Mooooooof Higher capacity battery, wirelessly charges iPhones at the same rate when not plugged in, can charge iPhones faster and more efficiently from the USB-C port, can also charge other devices, charge level available without pulling up the widget. So on, so forth
The counterfeit AirPods I got won’t even pair in the Bluetooth menu :/
can you charge AirPods Pro with the Temu Case?
No. Pin placement is different.
At the last I thought there is going be a sponsors transaction like Linus tech tips😂.
Yo do u think I can use the case for just my AirPods Pro 1 gen AirPods I lost the case and I was wondering if a temu case might work 😂

Does the stylus work on the 2024 iPads? Seeing Apple has killed off the 2nd generation pencil ✏️
There are so many reasons why you should absolutely avoid Temu both from a security and ethical point of view you should address these issues to your viewers. It would be good to see a future video explaining this
Any tracker in the find my app and works with the find my network is actually MFI certified which is likely why it isn’t as cheap as it could be. Sadly apple hasn’t opened up precision finding to third party devices so any of the MFI certified devices are stuck with only the speaker and directions button although they still can leverage the find my network so that’s a plus.
So happy to see the pencil pop up haha 😂 the way you said pencil was so funny lmaoo great vid 😎
Quote first 20s: „knockoffs are not counterfeits! Today, we have some counterfeits.“
Check the title
I got a Temu ad while watching one!
I've bought lots of third party apple pencil options on Amazon as well and they all have been very good for my needs. Not as premium as the apple pencil, but captures my handwriting perfectly and quickly which is really all I need it for since I'm not an artist. I'd recommend most people (unless they are an artist) to just go with a cheaper knockoff apple pencil option because the apple pencils are super pricey comparatively
I bought a genuine Apple Pencil 2 for £10, the equivalent of about $12 US. Someone had paid full price for it from Apple and just didn't like it. I knew them, and made the offer. They accepted. Deal done. Seriously, the real deal is worth no more than about $12 as far as I'm concerned. I certainly wouldn't pay any more for it. The things start to deform near the tip if you warm the plastic to add a heat shrink cover. Don't ask me how I know. 😒
@@RWBHereDon’t add a heat shrink cover then? it’s rubber of course it’s gonna deform, and the tips wear down you’re supposed to replace them just like every single other electronic drawing pencil. That’s such a terrible review from someone who doesn’t get how they work lol (and this comes from someone who got one for like 5 bucks too off a friend who didn’t want it)
Love the goofy walk when you tested the range on the “AirPods”.
Do some more of these please!!! I swear I get their ads everyday.

One thing you didn’t try with the pencil is the pressure sensitivity and if it cans do shading and stuff
Hands on the steering wheel at all times when driving!
Are you able to connect multiple AirPods in the first place? Maybe they didn’t automatically connect because you already have AirPods connected to it
Let's just say.. TEMU isn't losing money.. they are just waiting to sell your data...
let them have it
According to your research?
Dang the range on the headphones were impressive!
I thought it was a scam the app
I would be interesting in your thoughts on the computer power of the vision pro
It's not exactly a scam, its the US verison of 拼多多, which is one of the biggest ecommerce platforms in China. However, even in China, they're known for cheap products and shameless counterfeits, but its still popular due to absurdly low prices and actually decent value for a lot of stuff

13:54 it’s becUse you are in a open field and there is also less traffic of other Bluetooth devices around to cause that interference. Try the same test but within a busy city with heavy traffic and the earbuds will fail within 50 feet

That generic pencil probably does not have hover functionality either like the real Apple Pencil. I had a Nother pencil that charges with a USB but wasn’t very good because it didn’t have palm rejection.

18:20 is that just on the notes app? Because a regular cheap rubber nub has pressure sensitivity on ibis paint x
Sorry to make a completely unrelated comment - but for the sake of sanity take good care of your heart - I've never seen you before to be honest, and this will seem meaningless to you probably, but your heartline looked to me when you showed your palm, to be weak - which indicates that you should be sure to preserve your heart and treat your heart health with extra care. Now I could be wrong, I barely remember my training from my childhood, its been between 50 and 60 years - but it won't hurt you to take good care of yourself, and if I happen to remember correctly, it will prevent problems. Have a good day.

Like any people I've bought items from Temu and have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of most of them. I can't actually complain about anything because it all works and it was in my price range...which is stuff all cheapo, not because I'm a cheapo but because funding is low here, and I picked items that appeared to be reasonable.
I have no doubt that much of the stuff from there is crap but I think if you're careful then you'll get reasonable quality items. I don't intend to shop there forever because I don't think it's sustainable and it's certainly not good for any country's economy but if I can't buy here because of cost I'll use Temu for at least a while.
