    My daughter had the problem you show here. After confirming the error code from the OBD reader I sent her, I told her to watch your video. She was able to replace the solenoid -- no problem. Your video was the only one I could find that actually said what tool were needed. That made it much easier for her to repair. Thanks for your awesome content!!

    The reason why those VVT solenoids have different part numbers and have different colored connections is because they look the same and fit in either hole. However, the shape of the connection will make sure the solenoid is connected to the proper wires. And like you said, the color of the connection determines in which hole it's supposed to go into. However, there are those people who will end up putting the wrong solenoid into the location which will cause them to chase problems they created by not noticing what they are doing.

      @GoTechTraining  Год назад

      Hi Frank,
      I agree, if the wiring is long enough to cross to the other solenoid, its not a full proof design to stop an accidental installation error.

    If you are getting a performance code it could also be the wires are pulled at such an angle that they get crimp damage right at the back of the connector, causing resistance in the circuit. I usually have to replace at least one connector with a pig tail when I do solenoids. The wires are a small gauge and damage easily but the replacement wires on the pigtail are a larger gauge.

      For sure Bradley! The connectors have their issues.

      Yeah these VVT solenoids are high failure, good thing there replacement is pretty straight forward.
      Did you have to replace both solenoids?

    I found some shavings on mine when I removed them. It wasn't too many shavings, but there were some spots. Car has 210k miles

    • @GoTechTraining
      @GoTechTraining  Год назад +1

      Some shavings can be ok, an excessive amount usually ends up being trouble. Also pay close attention to your oil level between oil changes, these engine like to burn oil.

      @@GoTechTraining That puts me a little at easy, and will do, thank you very much. A friend of mine recommended I flush the engine before installing them. Is it a good idea?

    • @GoTechTraining
      @GoTechTraining  Год назад +1

      The biggest thing is to make sure no junk gets in the motor when installing them. Due to their location it is easy for dirt and debris to fall in.
