thank you for this video 😭 just did this on my grandmas 2010 malibu after the engine light has been on for years. i shit you not, the 0-60 time is like 3 seconds faster now it has a much more responsive ride
Thank my guy I just fixed mine on a 2017 equinox your video was A1 watched and did it step by step no issues other than it was raining outside a little lol
The air intake is a little different on the HHR bu this video gave me what I needed to get it swapped. Had P0014 & Traction control lights. New Exhaust cam sensor resolved both. Thanks.
Yeah i have a 07 Pontiac G6 an it has 3 codes . Poo10 , poo11 poo14 Should I replace both solenoids intake and exhaust . Also wish I could seen how to test for power at them
@@whoreheysilver8664 yeah I did an I also cleaned the other 2 that can cause the code plus was a tad low on oil an after all of that . It's been perfectly fine no issues
I have a 2008 Chevy Colorado 2.9. I got the code p0014. Says exhaust camshaft position timing. Could this be a actuator solenoid? And the only problem my truck is showing is when I first start it sometimes it acts like it doesn’t want to start and when I first drive it while it is cold it wants to bog down for a second around 2000rpm.
Yo get that looked at ASAP. Colorados have only one solenoid on the left side of the engine up near the front. About 40 dollars. Do that first. If that doesn’t help you need timing chain work. And a broken or loose chain will likely damage the engine
I replaced the exhaust cam solenoid but the check engine light is still on. Code is p0014 B in a 2012 chevy malibu. Not really sure what to do. Also it's been a few days since I replaced it.
Very helpful when replacing both Solenoids for code P0013 only. I did have a question, if after replacing the Solenoids and clearing the codes, if the P0013 code returns, what should be the next item to check?
I took mine to a mechanic for these codes and they told me they checked the issue but didnt see a problem. When i do a scan I'm getting the code and my check engine light has come on. What do i do
Most likely not. One code usually causes the other but it's a possibility. But I mean as long as your replacing the one you might as well just do both its fairly inexpensive
I have a 2013 chevy equinox and the p0014 code came up. I got an oil change and replaced the solenoids and the code come back up a couple hundred miles later. What else should I try
If the engine is sludgy, it's possible that the screens plugged or the car got low on oil. Or it could be that the timing chain has stretched and the slop is what's confusing the cam position sensor and setting the code.
I replaced both solinoids in my 2014 Cruz, but still getting code P0014 B Camshaft position Timing over - Advanced, Bank 1... 😔😔 Do you have any advice about it.. 😔
Ok I replace the both solenoid and try cranking the car and it will crank but won't start what should I do but here a catch my throttle body didn't come with a clamp around it so could that be a problem
90% of my parts are Napa. Acdelco are great. You’ll get the 1/100 parts every now and then when it comes to electronics that are bad right out of the box. But Napa is a great place for them with oe style parts at a discount price.
Pretty much the same thing. 14 can be caused by sludge or buildup on the solenoid. I would check the wiring to the solenoids and check the condition of the solenoids
Copy, I really appreciate the help!! Won't be able to check the car until tomorrow though. But would you also know as to a loud rattling noise as well as a P228D code? Cause I havent been able to get a clear answer yet.
No problem. I would start by fixing this issue and then see how the car performs and see if the other code returns. If it does it looks to be fuel pressure related. I.e. the regulator and the voltage to it. Unfortunately that would take further diagnosis. But if that is an issue it could cause excessive fuel and could cause misfires which could cause engine vibration or noise. But it's hard to say what the clunking is without hearing it or knowing when it exactly happens. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help
The fact that you did it with ease and a mechanic tried to charge me almost $400 to fix it. ☺️thank you.
Haha no problem at all 👍
Easy fix did mine to but I still got a warranty for I went to the shop.

on my 2012 Buick Verano i am getting P0014 and P228D. replacing the VVT Solenoid will get rid of the P0014 issue?
Usually the scan tool will list them In an order of most important and sometimes giving the first code can in turn fix multiple codes.
This was exactly what I needed. Thank you
Glad you found it helpful!!
Did you replace intake and outtakes??

Is it a good idea to just change both?
Is that Bank 1 or 2?
So in this video are you changing the intake one or the exhaust one?
Exhaust

What should we look at next if this doesn't clear the code? I replaced mine and did an oil change... Still have same code 😥
Timing belt issue
Timing belt issue you may as well want to check the CPS.
I took mine to a mechanic for these codes and they told me they checked the issue but didnt see a problem. When i do a scan I'm getting the code and my check engine light has come on. What do i do
should I do this or replacing the cam position snesor? any way to tell? When would you need to replace both solenoids?
CPS is OK, otherwise the car will crank but fair to start.
My 08 is haulin ass now thanks so much
Glad I could help 👍👍
Wich one is bank 1?
Do I need to clear the code with the Scanner Code Reader after replacing this part?
If this fixed it then it should clear on it's own.
Most parts store will have a scan tool and clear the code for you if you want.
So would I need to replace both or just the p0013 and p0014? Cause rhat the codes that my car was tossing up
Most likely not. One code usually causes the other but it's a possibility. But I mean as long as your replacing the one you might as well just do both its fairly inexpensive

Hi curious. Are both the parts the same. Meaning do i get 2 of the same if i have both codes 0013 0014. Thanks
I believe the 0014 it's the exhaust and the 0013 would be the intake.
@@LuisDiaz-vj3gw Thanks yes i had to get one with the black top and other was gray
My Car still isn’t cranking after changing these, any suggestions??
The P0014 and P01400 is the same code ?
Good video. Good advise.
Thank you 👍

Anyone have the hard shift issue?
Before the replacement or after?
hard shift. hoping it’s just the timing sensor.
You have to drain your oil first ?
No you do not have to drain the oil 👍
Changing it is a wise idea with this code as well
Thanks!

I bought a Malibu for $550 because the mechanic told them this CEL was "the timing going out" turns out it's a $45 solenoid?
Yes but timing guides are a huge issue with the 2.4 around 100k. Stay ahead of the issue and do the chain, guides, tensioner also
