A bit disappointed that the review didn't cover gyro steering, which imho is far superior to thumbstick steering, and is much quicker to learn than thumbstick steering. Maybe an idea for a future video?
One thing I could never learn about these controllers is how well are the triggers? Are they analog? Can you adjust your throttle/brake input? If so how precise are they? That's the most important thing for me for racing games. Or I can just buy a logitech f310.
F310 will work just fine. Don't expect to perform very good in Sim racing games though with any controller. I would go with Power A (standard) controller over F310 btw.
@@Spyke46 Thanks.... think I'll get the xb1 controller anyways, for the compatibility. It's a shame you know.. bcz as far as I know the dualshock's haptic and feedbacks are superior...
i got the victrix gambit, which is pretty good bang for the buck. i map the upshift to the rear rocker, but still use the x button for downshifts. The thing i really long for is progressive resistance on the triggers
I'm a PC guy and have the PS5 controller got it for the haptic feedback I got it to work through a driver it has way more options that better suit a shooting game and even when not using the haptic feedback option the controller makes weird noises at times when it vibrates like the motors are whining and being over worked kind of sounds like a steering servo for an rc and that's just normal use not haptic feedback back think I might try the elite controller from Xbox I like the Forza series and I doubt it will ever support the PS5 controller plus the Xbox one seems more suitable for racing games with the paddles and adjustable sticks and triggers on the fly
Good video, and glad to see ps5 controllers don't have the same problems of ps4 where we needed a software to play with it (won't even talk about ps3 ones, what a nightmare...) About the comments in here, you really making direct comparisons between the ps5 controller and the xbox elite when the xbox controller is triple the price?... that doesn't really make sense to me
Not everyone has a controller at home! I am probably well into the minority in that I haven't owned or used a console for almost 20 years. I do like racing games however and am considering getting a modern controller to use with a PC instead of my very cheap wheel
@@aftrnoon_ac Look i'm a big Keyboard and Mouse bro , but you gotta accept the draw backs when it comes to steering sensitivity to a joystick on driving games. on a keyboard there is no sensitivity it's straight up 100% left or 100% right. You can control it with tapping but that makes the vehicle wiggle a lot.
Neither of these have an analog stick adapted to the travel direction of your thumbs. The Playstation one has symmetric analog sticks which makes sense, but to use this for left/right accuracy makes you angle your left hand even more, like the old Sega D-pad controllers. Just dumb, it's 2022. I would love if you could have a tool to rotate the analog sticks, or do it in software. I would prefer a hardware solution, since you already mention the incompatibilities that are by design for the respective Monopoly Stores. They are the big deal, not the hardware, according to the religious cult hardware authors. We can never trust them to make a good controller. Why competitors don't fix it I have no idea, they could solve this huge 30 year old problem, while human thumbs stay as they are waiting for something compatible to come along finally from someone who can think. Controllers are better for driving than steering wheels. It's just slower to turn a wheel than to adjust your thumb. This will not change. Rumble is sh1t and should be turned off for everything ever since the first Rumble Pak(TM).
Hmm there's no such a thing, you can't sim race on a controller, however you can easily play racing games, Xbox one X controller possible best option overall
It's all about how much active throw do the triggers have.
Need long throw on triggers for the best gas/brake range.
Exactly - range as you mentioned and stiffness of thumbstick, most important values for me
Can you recommend??

PS5 controller haptic feedback only works for F1 on PC which is a bit of a bummer
For sim racing you would not use a controller at all
