Thank you for doing the double fry method, that's one of those cooking things when I first learned about it and applied it I realized finally why some things are on a completely different level. The double fry should be used for basically everything fried.
For me, it's only missing a little 5-spice powder, but I know every city has different flavors. The takeout spots near me in NYC all use a dash of 5-spice in their fried chicken recipes.
@@kmydesire12 you would believe how excited I was to discover that white pepper was the missing ingredient in my KFC- inspired fried chicken. That colonel has nothin on me now.
Chicken wings were my #1 order from Chinese takeout before I moved, but now I can't find a place that makes decent ones. This recipe is exactly what I needed.
@@chsulie It's been good. I've made a few times, always a real treat. The only reason I haven't made it more often is that chicken wings are hard to get these days. The only thing that would make it better, would be if you all put out a wonton soup recipe. For some reason, it's my favorite combination for lunch. These wings are absolutely perfect, but still looking for a great wonton soup to go with it.
@@lrom5445 Thanks for your comment!!! I know what you mean... wings are hard to find now a days... Thanks for dropping in your request for a wonton soup recipe. I will try my best to include this request for my future videos. 😊
Hi Sharon!!! Thanks for sharing your success stories with us!!!! I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed it!!! Feel free to share this video with your friends and family!!! ☺️
Just a tip. Just put the Tupperware top on and shake it. Make sure to hold the top corner firmly so that it doesn't fly off. Or just use a large Ziplock freezer bag. I've always hated using my hands to marinate meat because then all the marinade and seasoning is on your gloves.
I followed your recipe last night. The only thing i added was a shake of Accent. The wings came out perfect and were so delicious, better than take out! I also made General Tso Chicken. My husband loved everything so much he said he never wants to order chinese take out again.
Thanks for sharing your success story with us here. Please feel free to share this video with your friends and family so more people can learn this recipe. I love helping others to save some money haha 😂
Not all the Chinese take-outs in my area take this extra step and omit the flouring, choosing to just fry them after a marinade. It's still good and cheap, so it's not a real negative. Those that do take the extra step though, the wings are phenomenal. Admitted they're usually a little bit more expensive per order, but it's well worth it.
I would have loved to have seen you taking the chicken out of the oil the second time instead of you cutting to the finished product- making it tonight so we’ll see! Thank you!
I use black pepper Lawrys season salt Soul food seasoning Garlic powder Onion powder Paprika Sazon y culantro packet Soy sauce Let sit 24 to 48hrs and fry in flower and oil taste jus like Chinese food
I see Chinese take the raw season chicken straight out the fridge, and fry it one time straight through and it taste the same way when they double fry it..
Mine are marinating in the fridge right now and I can't wait for that first bite! Do I deep fry cold or should they warm up to room temp before the plunge?
Probably you didn’t pat dry the wings ahead, is that why you had to keep adding flour and corn starch! Recipe looks really great though, will try it. 👌🎄
Definitely gonna be trying these tomorrow. I notice you have sesame oil in your written recipe but you didn’t add it on the video. Should I leave it out?

Yes. I added into the marinated mixture to marinate the chicken. Sorry for my poor editing skills. I wish you success and pleas let me know how it turns out! 😊
I gotta admit they do look like the ones at the chinese take out. Surprised to see it isnt really a wet batter or heavily dry coated. I do think the ones ive had are a bit more crispier looking tho

The cooking wine enhance the flavor, since this particular cooking wine also have sodium.
