I would be very surprised if Belarusian people want anything to do with this.
Not that they have been officially asked.
This is why they will not enter Ukraine. Lukashenko statement is to freeze Ukrainian forces in place.
My dream scenario is that some patriotic people high up in military command realize that the right direction to head is Minsk. They are the only force in country that can challenge Lukaschenka's national guard (the ones who beat back the revolution in 2020).

naive comment... if they attack in the north, it will be a second frontline and ukraine army has to move forces from south and east to secure the north...
Joint forces? Lukaschenko is afraid of his own army. They think if they are mixed with Russian soldiers, then it’s less likely that they immediately surrender to Ukraine, after crossing the border…
But I think even most of the Russian conscripts know they will die very soon, so they will anyway join their Belorussian comrades and surrender as well…

It is chilling to see how shell-shocked and terrified you are beneath your calm, reassuring face. My prayers are with you and your people. When peace returns and victory comes, maybe you could campaign for the teaching of the Belarusian language at your university. Your series of vlogs and debunks is becoming an important historical document.

Contact your political leaders and ask them to support Ukraine. If you live in a democracy that could accomplish more than you will ever know.

@@gmw3083 Remember this war was only supposed to be a weeklong battle. Here we are several months later. There's no guarantee Russia will win. Even worse for Putin the sharks smell his blood in the water. If Ukraine don't get him, he certainly be targeted as he embarrassed his country enough.

Cheers for the insights of "normal" life there. It must be hard to keep calm and carry on but that was the phrase that got us through the last war in the UK so my late grandmother told me. The Germans invented cruise missiles and ballistic missiles and used them on us. It didn't help them in the end, and it won't help Russia either. Thanks for the vid. Slava Ukraini !

I can't imagine what it feels like for you right now. My parents and grandparents lived in London during the V1/V2 attacks in WWII. The V2 were the worst as you didn't hear them coming.
My great uncle and his mother hid under the kitchen table in an old 2-storey farmhouse when a V2 struck. When they came out from the table, they could see sky above them - the whole house except the kitchen walls had been destroyed.

Although growing up and learning about contemporary 20th century history and watching the changes of the Soviet Union to Russia, hearing the history from the people involved is history in the making. It would be interesting for you to do a video specifically on the linguistic situation in Ukraine. Like the history of russification in regards to language policy, the linguistic shift in recent years with various new language laws, and particularly the phenomenon of many Russian speaking Ukrainians switching to Ukrainian since the war began. It would be interesting to know how extensive this recent shift since the war began has been. For example, is it true that Ukrainian is now the dominant language in Kyiv? Is the same thing happening in any other cities?

Lukashenko has tried for 6 months and no one wants to cross the border. I'm hoping if they are forced, that they will turn the tanks around and seize power from him.

Did you see the story of the journalist that was on a flight that was going over Belarus and he intercepted the flight with fighter jets on a fake story of a bomb threat. Made the plane land in Belarus and they guy got carted off to prison.

Tsikhanouskaya is actually very active outside her country, trying to obtain world support, and maintain a visual government in exile! She wants democracy and and already said there will be no relations with Russia!
I have seen a documentary of her and she is really working hard. She doesn't get an audience to the leaders and media without work. They don't ask her, she has to take the initiative first.

Where I live there is no war but I live near an airport and when I hear the jets flying over, I try to imagine what it most be like for my relatives who are near the Russian border hearing the jets flying over. The anxiety and trauma that Ukrainian citizens must feel each time they hear these sounds of war death... I pray for your country every night. Hi Anna, Thank you for the work you do. You introduced Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya correctly as the "elected President of Belarus." 6:24 Whether or not you like her doesn't matter. Her country elected her as President, and for that reason alone, she deserves our full support. It's long past time to end Lukashenko's dictatorship. Our roles as pro-democracy activists, in my opinion, is to give 100% support to President Tsikhanouskaya.

I am an Indian citizen. Long back I lived in hostels (obshezhitiye) with 3 roommates (‘sosed’) during my student days in Moscow and all were Alexanders (Sasha), one each from Ukraine, Russia and Belorussia. All of them were my friends. It is unfortunate that the friendships are lost today. Very unfortunate to see that people hate each other who were great friends once.

Winter is beginning, and this total Russian brutality has been raining down indiscriminate, and in populations of civilian habitation.
