As for me, I traded in my 2020 Scout Bobber after two years for a 2022 Springfield Dark Horse. I loved the Bobber. It was the first bike I owned/rode in 27 years.I wanted more comfort on the 500 mile + trips I take. And with the springfield, I have storage, I saw a youtube vidio of a young man who just purchased a used bobber.. Turned out to be my trade in. He was very happy with the mods.
The Springfield is such an awesome platform. Congrats
What are the odds of that? 😂 Imagine you caught a thief that way? 😆
I've seen scout bobber for 6 grand
It’s funny, this is an entry bike in the U.S., I’m in the UK and a Scout Bobber is my dream bike.
Same here
As an American, it's my dream bike as well. Life is expensive, especially when you have a family.
@@JohnWayne-cb1tv
Sure is, I can’t afford any bike right now let alone my dream bike, hopefully we’ll get there one day, good luck mate 👍
I got a 2015 regular scout for 8 Grand a couple years ago right now it's probably going for 5... The bobber version is overrated and there's nowhere to store anything not to mention a couple inches shorter when it's already slammed
It's a wonderful bike for UK landscape.
Outside of major cities and their suburbs here in the US, Scout Bobbers are rough to ride. There's a lot of wide open roads with angry crosswinds that just take their toll over time.
They're made for ripping and tearing on twisties and city riding. I mean, it's made for any road really, but you get what I mean.
There may be more Scout Bobbers for sale right now because of the new model year with people upgrading to something newer or larger or different in some way. One thing I've noticed is even with the increased market, the prices for used Scouts aren't coming down all that much if at all. I think that's a good sign that Scouts will still hold their value into the future.
This morning my wife did a testride on the 'old' rogue and the new sport. She preferred the older one (2023), so that's the one we're gonna buy.
I owned 2 different Scout Bobbers. INCREDIBLE machine! I sold 2nd one and upgraded to the Chief Bobber. WISH I could have kept both. Long Live Indian motorcycles.
Good combination. I really enjoyed the chief bobber as well
I want a Scout Bobber, but people want like 90+% of lot value. No point in buying used at those prices.
I hear that. I got a decent deal at a dealership for a lightly used one without all the dealer fees.
For real, even ones from 2018 still are being sold close to 90% if it's the bobber
I found some used scout bobber and just scouts for 6 grand I saw one for 5
@@TheNikipa What region do you live in?
2016 scout 16700 miles with bags 7500
Nicely done video. I have 2021 regular Scout. I think in some cases people are not doing any, or very little research before purchase, and then are surprised after ownership. Over 50 years, I have owned several bikes (mainly HD). I no longer tour (over 120 mi.) or do any overnight trips. I enjoy the Scout for being nimble in town, but also goes down the interstate easily. My 2 cents
Yeah I think people jump the gun a little too quick. For most people it’s exactly what they want but for others they find out the hard way that it’s not suitable for them
I’m 63 years old. I’ve had my Scout Bobber for nearly two years. The only reason I’d sell it would be if I couldn’t ride it due to my physical limitations. I’ve got over 20 motorcycles in my collection and I prefer to ride it over any of them, my Harleys included.
My cousin bought a brand new 22 model for his first bike at 45 years old.
He is 6ft2 and almost 300 pounds. As soon as he got comfortable riding, he bought a slightly used ultra glide.
He thought about selling it, but he doesn't have to, and it's more fun to ride on shorter get arounds.
The stator was out on my bike, and I was able to ride the scout on our rides.
It's the fastest bike and the smallest displacement, everyone is riding baggers. I was pretty worn out after about 4 hours on it compared to my bike,
but honestly it made up for that in being a fun bike that feels as light as a 650 or something.
It surprised me how it really wanted to dive into curves at 60+ miles an hour.
He is keeping it just because he is able to, and another friend was down about a month after me and joe let him use it then as well.
So, we are all happy as hell that he chose to keep it.
OH, YEAH. He bought some no name 4in. slip-on's that are black with cuts in the end exposing the silver metal color at amazon for like $250?
Those things sound so deep and throaty. He took it in for its first service and the dudes at the dealer were pretty impressed with the sound compared to the reindhearts that they were trying to sell him. Just a mean sound. Possibility too loud for some people when you neutral rev it,
not any of us, and it's not bad at all at speed. That thing was so quiet stock and that motor is so damn smooth, it almost gave the feeling of it being an electric bike. You move quickly in silence. Lol.
Is not passanger set
I like my bich nex to me
i had a 19 bobber sold it in 21 and got a bigger bike for road trips. I will be getting another Bobber this year.
Yeah the bobber is best used for short little tips
I'm from the UK, I had a 18 Scout, loved the bike, sounded amazing and got a lot of attention, however, super uncomfortable. I'm 6ft 4 so was hurting my lower back and shoulders with the awkward riding angle.
Not a bobber but I bought a scout 1200 brand new in 2019 and I love this bike so much that I will never get rid of it. I put 10k miles on it within the first 6 months of owning it and I recently had the 20k service done. I actually just got home from a ride as I saw this video
They’re fantastic machines. Super fun to ride
@@LionElAngron I'm curious how much did the 20,000 Mi service cost you mine's coming up?
Hello IronnBornRider, I am on my third bike, a 2022 black Scout Bobber. For this bike, after a number of years of not owning one, I did my research and HAPPILY chose this bike. I went in eyes-wide-open and I LOVE IT. MOST days that I ride, i get compliments.
I did make modifications as I have done with every bike and car I have owned to make it my own.
Starting with the Indian Mid-Wind Deflector and Luggage rack additions. I traded out the wide Indian foot pegs(they drag in turns) for narrow Joker Machine race pegs. Shaved 10lbs off and added 5 horsepower with RCX 3" mufflers. And finally, switched to a much more comfortable Saddleman Solo Seat.
I feel like anyone who got rid of their bobber because they did not like it simply did not do their homework going in.
There is PLENTY of info online to choose the right bike and the next step is to go out, see it and sit on it .
Absolutely love going out on my bike!!!!
Same, I love my scout bobber twenty. Yeah it’s a little uncomfortable but it’s a fun ride and it looks awesome.
Last year my cousin bought a brand new one for his first bike ever t 44 years old.
That is a blast to ride, and it feels like a 450cc bike between the legs, it's very light and fun in the twisties, but she will get up am boogie when you twist that throttle.
He just sold it with 2,200 miles on it and bought a 2024 Indian Challenger in that matte red color.
He is 6ft 2in, and probably 260lbs, so he always looked like a man riding a youth bicycle from behind.
That challenger is quick as hell for a big bike.
@@Thesaurcery4U2C the challenger and the scouts are my favorite bikes that indian makes
Some people buy bikes for fashion not passion and realize quickly…. It is not for them. Happens often for trendy products with emotional commercials.
Yessir. Unfortunate but true
Something nobody mentions, but all the Indian V-Twin liquid cooled motors sound like a full Italian race bike, or a Suzuk TL1000 (a nasty sounding bike that was scary to be around when they were in their prime). Harley messed up a key piece of their signature, their newest liquid cooled motors don't sound as good. The best sounding motors are are the single crank pin V-Twin engines, but Indian managed to make their modern liquid cooled engines have their very own snarl, which is a beautiful sound.
Someone said mine sounds like a bat outta hell on steroids.
Not sure what that means, but I'll take it.
It's just ergonomics and wanting a bigger badder bike honestly. Saving up for a sport chief
where im at, its mostly people upgrade after realizing how nice the bigger indains are. they want more comfort, and sometimes just a gas guage lol. for me, i have carpal tunnel and i needed a bike with cruise control, so i got a chieftain, but i still have my rogue and ride it often.
The 2025 scout bobber limited tech has all of that
I agree. I’ve had my Bobber for over a year and I love it. But, I want a bigger bike to make longer trips with more wind resistance and bags. It is fast.
A lot of people sell their first bike rather quickly. You just don't really know when you get your first bike if that's what you really want. I thought I wanted a cruiser-ish motorcycle so I got a Vulcan S as my first bike. Well, as it turns out I like to do wheelies, I like to ride on some dirt roads, I like to lean in when I do my turns. What I was really looking for, and I didn't know it, was a naked bike. So I got rid of the Vulcan and picked up a MT-07 instead and I'm loving it.
Hard to go wrong with an mt07. Would love to get one myself
@@IronBornRider It's an amazing bike. And yeah, almost every biker I meet says that if they could have a 2nd bike, MT07 is on the top of that list. It's just such a fun bike.
I really like the style and looks but fiance said aftermarket support isn't good?
The aftermarket isn’t as plentiful as say a Harley but there are still some parts and accessories available for the scout bobber, especially the 2024 and older models
I seen them with the fat knobby tires. Looks so badass
Yeah they look good on the bobber
I have a coworker with a 2024 scout who is considering selling. I ride it most days during my lunch break and I have to say I absolutely love this bike. I told him that if he gets serious about selling it to please let me know first. Such a fun and comfortable ride
I'm months away from being 60 yrs of age and have ridden most of my life. Owned many bikes. I will say I think the number one issue is the last 4 years of our economy tanking and the cost of living. I don't think it's the scout bobber specifically as I've seen plenty of bikes for sale. I will say I've had a blast customizing it and love the bobber because I'm vertically challenged. I can't see myself getting rid of it. I could see my self upgrading and adding to the collection with another Indian. Currently upgraded the rear shocks and exhaust. Good video, BTW.
@@ladyocculus3525 yes the economy definitely plays a factor in all of this
Traded mine in for utility, comfort, and technology of the Chief Darkhorse because it does everything it eas designed to do very well. If I want to go fast, I grab my ZH2 or Aprilia Tuono V4. If I only had ONE bike, the Scout Bobber is a great pick if you do a few upgrades for comfort. It's a good all 'rounder. Basically the Glock of the cruiser world. It doesn't do excellent at everything, but it does do everything, and do it well for what it is.
Can you please recommend me what would be a good Indian bike for longer trips?
@@camaleon18 can’t go wrong with chieftain, Springfield, challenger - assuming you have the budget
@@IronBornRider not that big. How about an Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse? Would it be a good option?
@@camaleon18 yeah that’s a good option as well
@@IronBornRider thanks
I sold mine before the temp tags were off. I had to get off of it because my tailbone hurt so much. I dont have any medical issues. It was simply too uncomfortable. My ftr sport is perfect for me.
Yeah I get that. To me I didn’t enjoy the ftr, I’m just not used to that riding position and I kept sliding toward the tank. But it’s a hooligan machine for sure
Most people first start on the smaller bikes and when they get more comfortable riding they like to size up. I’m guilty of it 😂
Same. I started out on a sportster and moved up
Anytime they come out with a new model generation there’s always a lot of trading in of the previous generation, also the chief fills a lot of the roles and more than the scout. I wanted the scout for so long then Indian dropped the chief and it just made more sense for me but that 25 scout definitely gave me the scout itch again
Yup, we’re going to see a lot of older scout trade ins and they may just end up going for a bigger bike altogether
I am selling my 2020 Scout Bobber because I want to move up to the Indian Chief. I returned to riding with the Bobber but after 3 years I'm ready for a bigger bike. Also, the new Indian features like 'Ride Command" and the 116 engine just couldn't keep me away. I would recommend the Bobber to anyone looking for great styling and ease of maneuvering. Yes, the ride could be more forgiving but I only weigh 150lbs. so that was not an issue for me. Indian is making a quality product whatever model you choose.
You should also try out the challenger if you can for fun. Probably one of the best bikes ive demod
Maybe it might have to do with how much of the bike has to be disassembled to change air filter or plugs
It’s possible
yes, i was upgrading from a bobber to Africa twin, and when i made my first 5000 miles trip, i decided to sell the bobber as didn't see any reason to have it anymore. but wen i came back and next day decide to go to downtown and had a coffee, every thing has change and say to my self this bike is staying as i got attached
I’ve wanted a scout bobber forever but every time I sit on one, it feels like the smallest bike ever! I’m only 5’11” and it’s waaaay too small to ride. Went with a Honda fury instead. Might get an Indian chief dark horse in the future.
I hear that a lot from taller riders, a different seat might help push you farther back
You know you only have left audio?
Yes. I need to fix it in the settings of my new dji
The quality is excellent though. Great video! :) @@IronBornRider

I have a 2023 scout rogue and if i were to trade it in it would be for a 2025 scout 101. I love everything about the scout and a faster more beefed up scout is a no brainer for me.
Great points IBR. 🙂👍 The Scout bobber platform is a great starting point or continuation of getting into motorcycling. 🏍️👍
Scouts rule!
How do they hold up in the UK? Here in North Qld they disappear after a heavy wet! Need better Quality Electrical connectors and sensors!
I had a Bobber for about a year. Loved the bike, but found it to be to small for carrying a passenger. I also felt cramped on the bike and I’m only 5’6”. I traded in for a Chief Bobber. Very happy with the Chief.
Chief is a great compromise. Still has plenty of power and a bigger platform for 2 up riding.
Been debating if I wanted to get rid of my ISB twenty for a chief. I do a lot of 2up, and love the nimble light weight scout. Idk if I'll be happy with the added weight of the Chief. I'm 5'4 so a little shorter.
How do you like it? Id it good for inner city/ town riding? Overheating?
@@PsychoSainten I liked the bike but the Chief fits my needs better. Wish I could have both. No overheating.
@@MrJeepmed i was referring to the chief. Im on the fence on what to get id like to do some urban exploring with the wife and cruise around but i can t find any chiefs near me only scouts. I was also concerned that it was air cooled and imner city riding and traffic might cause overheating
There isn’t a single one to be found used in my area
Ton in New England avarage 8k
For me, I'd trade in for a Chief Dark Horse Bobber. The Scout Bobber is great and all, but I want something beefier, bigger.
Great upgrade!
Ive always hated the look of windshields on cruisers. The profile of your winshield actually looks fire. Gives it a WW2 harley profile. I think your year models have the best looking tanks too, would love to grab one and do a 240 conversion, rear fender eliminator, your windshield with some beach bars. Nice bike
I hope Polaris shows more support for Indian than they did with Victory . Refuse to recall the front problem on the Vision and the clutch cable on the other bikes.
I would not mind one as a second bike. I have a touring bike and having one does spoil you to creature comforts. I had smaller bikes and over time I would buy something larger. It’s a biker’s evolution.
I’ll always have smaller bikes just because it’s simpler and less troublesome. Would love to have a bagger in the near future too
I have a 2019 Bobber, also a 08 Harley Ultra, both have a purpose
Different tools for different jobs
It might be as simple as now more have been sold and there are more on the secondary market.
I think that’s a factor for sure
It could be people are moving and they don't have any Indian dealers for service ,I usually do my own but sometimes it's easier to drop it off and pay.
I test rode the Bobber and hated the ergonomics. Rode the Scout Twenty and really enjoyed the bike. The main problem is ergonomics and rider comfort.
Yeah the twenty and the rogue have better ergonomics vs the scout bobber.
I am 5 foot 6 or 7 idk i am test riding some indians this tuesday i will be test riding the scout the scout bobber and the indian ftr1200 any other suggestions? Im a little nervous with the chieftain i realy like the cheiften i want something for longer ride but wieght is a big thing for me right now and im taking my time i have a rebel 250 and i rode a vulcan 650 250 miles in a day out in arizona my butt hurt after an hour i want something fairley comfortable for long rides storage speakers would be nice gas gauge would be nice i love the aggressive feel and stance the way ims eated on the bobber this bike whatever i choose will be my second bike i have a rebel 250 for 2100 bucks before taxes 2600 after with only 2600 miles on it it was garage kept too
I’d also try out the chief bobber, a bit roomier than the scout and more comfortable. Not as sporty but still great power
I love the Scout Bobber. I have a 2021. I have ridden it on 500+ mile trips and enjoyed every mile. I think there may be another reason you didn't mention. Now that there is a plethora of Scouts out there, what can one do to their Scout that someone else has not. So the Scout ends up being a cookie cutter bike much like the sportsters. I think with the new Scouts having a tube frame there could possibly be more one can do with it.
My Bobber has 14" apes Freedom Performance Radical Radius exhaust, trask intake, tank lift, rear fender delete, 1920 seat, 11" Progressive 444 shocks and a tune. It has no problems catching the eye of a biker enthusiast. Including most HD owners.
Agree that the new scouts could open up more possibilities for modifications! Thanks for the comment!
Great video. Big fan of the scout bobber. Mean looking bike. Please get rid of that windshield it ruins the look to your bobber
I know. The windshield isn’t my favorite look but I’m doing a bit of testing for content

I absolutely love my bobber, but I'm a big guy so the bobber just looks too small for me. Also, it's not the most comfortable on long rides. I want something bigger so I'm probably going to trade it in for the Chieftain.
I’ve heard great things about the chieftain. Should be a good move!
@@IronBornRider So I test rode the Chieftain and within the first 30 seconds, I felt it was perfect. Just wish it had the powerplus engine. Besides that, handled beautifully. Just looking for a black smoke and going to pull the trigger today if I can

Uh, who’s been trading in their bobbers? This is my first bike ever 2023 bobber and I don’t think I could ever trade her in as I enjoy the performance she gives. Plus all day all I ever hear is that she’s a badass bike to look at. It doesn’t help that I have put on aftermarket parts to add to her beauty. So nah I hope that I never feel compelled to pass her on, she is my baby
When I open up Facebook marketplace there’s a ton of people selling them in my area, but yeah I love my bobber. It’s staying with me for a while
It’s a fab bike, only downside, I traded my 16 month old with 6k miles on the clock, loved it. The servicing was getting tricky as I’m a few hours to my dealers. I traded it in for a Triumph and took the massive hit on my chin as I wanted it gone, insurance was going off the scale tbh and to use a bike with a local dealership a few miles away. The Freedom exhaust I had on it, all the extras I paid for….gone! Indians aren’t that popular here in the UK tbh, I have never seen an FTR on the road here. Everyone I talked to at the meets had bagged a bargain on a new model from the very few dealerships here.

As a rider of street bike’s in my past I wanna just cruise not necessarily I don’t need to be on a street bike but hey this has a lot of power but more or a cruise style not race
I think k the scout line as a whole, especially the bobber is one of those bikes you get for a specific set of purposes. I went for the rogue as It suited my riding style better than the bobber. For a 5’6” guy like me who never rides 2 up and goes on 200-400 mile trips once in a while the size/weight and power of the scout is something I can’t really replicate in any other cruiser on the market right now. No bike can really do It all. I usually see taller/larger riders trying to get rid of their scouts for something physically bigger which makes sense. For me it’s the perfect bike for my size with enough power to be satisfying. If I ever get into really long distance riding I might get a Springfield but I can’t imagine getting rid of the scout to make It happen.
The Bobber has 100hp... that is not anything to write home about. The Scout is simply overpriced for what is offered in return.
Right on. The Springfield is a great bike, but also very different than the scout bobber
I'm 6'2. Am I too tall for the ISB 20? I'm waiting till April 2nd to see the new Scout lineup. Thanks

I'm still at a loss at "entry level" bikes. Scout Bobber is a small pickup truck and then you graduate to a Semi?? Makes no sense.
sound is only on the left ear...that is very uncomfortable. you should fix that. thank you
Yeah sorry about that. Was working through some glitches with my dji camera
Like a sportster you eventually outgrow it and get a bigger bike.
I sold my after few month. It was uncomfortable, maybe for shorter riders better. I am 1.80m tall.
Other issue - it was very harsh riding. I could feel every bump. The suspension is complete sh*it.
The tank to small, after every 120km I had to look for a tank to refill.
It is probably designed to cruise around city center and drink late and look at the bike, but not ride it.
Ou, the motor was pulling great! Just the sitting position was bad, so when ever I opened the throttle, I could barley stay on bike. Due to forward pegs, bad seating position.
It’s a bobber which are not comfortable motorcycles in the first place. But yeah the motor is awesome
I have a totally different experience with my Scout Bobber. I find it to be quite comfortable tbh, compared to my previous bike that I rode for over 20 years (Suzuki Marauder vz800), I'm 1,74m so that might be a big difference in riding position. But stopping every 120km???😮 That's not normal, my fuel light only comes on past 200kms of riding... 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah get a standard scout. I ride mine all over the country did a 1400 mile run in 24 hours last year but I did shocks and a seat before hand. The only complaint I've heard about the bobber is comfort for longer rides The scout is a powerful bike though probably the fastest in the Indian lineup The Challenger is the only thing that comes close.
I'm in process doing a big bore kit and cams at the moment.
100% I agree with you but it is not for Indian it’s for all motorcycle. 2 sold two bikes ( Kawasaki ninja 300/ Suzuki gsxs 750 ) like that. Now I have Honda Africa Twin 1100 I can use it every where and long distance. I looking for second bike like Indian cheapest than Harley.
I wish I was living in USA to buy one for 10 k , here in EU is 24 k dollars ...
Buy one here for 10k and have it shipped for 1 or 2k. Still cheaper than 24k.

I’m in the Maryland/va area and there are quite a few now here for some really great prices
Triumphs got this .can't find to many for sale used.
I typically see older bonnies for sale in my area but that’s it
Why are people buying bikes they can’t afford. Llamo. I’m purchasing this mf cash and I don’t care if it sits in my garage.
Traded my bobber to get a challenger only because I didn’t have the space to keep the bobber
I’ll most likely go the same route. The challenger is something else
@@IronBornRider yeah I still wish I had my scout bobber, but I’m starting to get a little older and my back is not as good as it used to be. I have the exact helmet ruroc and scout twenty bobber. Guess there are alot of us out there lol
Represent! Lol
I look at all those bobbers and I wonder why they are so heavy, chunky and yet have so little power... it's the opposite of what bobber suppose to be aka lightweight, fast motorcycle with as little BS as possible...
The most bobber is triumph and still weights 251 kg (553 lb) and has 1200cc engine that only produce 76 HP... meanwhile my XSR weights 190kg (418 lb), is only 700cc and produces 74 HP... Triumph costs 2x as much? I don't understand why is that.
they are beautiful bikes

What is a good bodyweight for a bike like this ?
I don't think bodyweight matters all that much. I weigh around 180 lbs. and feel perfectly comfortable. I have a female rider friend who also rides a Scout Bobber and she's maybe 120 lbs. tops. I've seen people over 6' tall and in the mid 200's riding scouts. Indian makes seats for the Scout that can accommodate taller riders as well as shorter ones. If someone feels the bike is too small for them, they have a bobber in the Chief line as well. A bit larger with a bigger engine.
weight and height doesn't matter just get what you like and feel comfortable on
It has nothing to do with Indian Scout Bobber... alot of people buy a bike and ride it for a little and realise they don't like riding... there are heaps of harleys with low kms for sale.
in my country indian and harley is a luxury motorcycle not "entry level"... entry level is honda and 125cc ヽ(゜▽゜ )
literally indian scout cost 2x more than rebel 1100...
Where are people selling these? Finding them used in my area is nearly impossible.
Maybe it varies location to location but I can find a good amount near me on fb marketplace alone
Where is your location ?
Scouts are more of an Adventure bike, for one people buy the scout thinking it's a cruiser and it's NOT a F'ing Cruiser. It's a sport touring bike, huge difference. If you want a cruiser buy a chief or simply do your research and don't be an idiot. If you buy the Scout knowing it's an adventure bike you'll love it, More HP than most of the bigger bore Harley's, handles great, it's nimble in tight turns, and there is a ton of Mods and upgrades. On another note, there are more used Sportsters for sale than Scouts.
How mach bike
I think it is 3 reasons, newer bikes coming out cost the same as a "rare used bike", going back to Harley or simple a better social bike haha😆🤣🙃
