  • 4X4Ventures episode 2, takes the 2.2 XL 4X4 Ford Ranger to Moegatle where we do a review on the terror trail. One of 3 terror trails in the Northern region of South Africa, where we take a close up look at the infamous obstacle called Koos se Klim. A challenge worthy of an in depth look.
We also review the Moegatle 4X4 lodge, owned and run by Alex and Betsie Fullard. A big thanks to them for the day out, and showing us their lodge. What a pleasure - see info below for contact details and location. It is about 125km outside of Johannesburg, and 40km outside of Brits in the North Western Province.
Thanks to all of our subscribers and to anyone watching this. All we ask is for you to give us a thumbs up, appreciate, and share with others.
Keep well, keep posted, subscribe and watch an upcoming episode soon: How to drive off road in the 2.2 XL 4X4 Ranger.

Nice...Hi I'm from Sarawak Malaysia Borneo. Thanks for your videos. I've learn a lot from it. I'm planning to get one Ford Ranger XL 2.2 for myself which I really need one in our really challenging road here in Borneo.

Yes, so a great trail indeed. Depending on what time of year you go it can be a fantastic trail. It's very strange that as I progress the channel my urge to drive 4x4 trails diminishes. Cost on parts has a significant impact on doing terror trails that's for sure. Moegatle is definitely a favourite memory and the granite koppie obstacle will have an adrenalin effect over any driver. Done it 3 times, and I'm happy to not do it again. Finding out that my preference is to travel to the wild remote places Southern Africa has on offer. Heres to the the next one, and look forward to seeing you out there 🤟

Very nice vid with good production quality. Would have loved to hear the sound of the vehicles engine and tires to get a sense of how hard it was working. Also fast forwarding the big climb with a music overlay was a bit of a let down. Would also have liked to see more of the interior of the car. But other than that really nice cinematography!

Wow, nice review man and music. Good quality. Keep it up... I like the views of the nature when you on that rock. I was doubting the capabilities of the Ranger 2.2, but it proves to be more capable than I thought. That's definately a place to visit. Is that Ranger modified to enhance power?

4X4 Ventures awesome video's. I recently bought 2017 2.2 d/c xl 4x4 and got to say love it so far. Could you guys give some details on the accessories on the 2.2 you drive, lift , tyre size exc. I want to do a suspension lift but a bit worried about the warranty.

Hi Rene, go have a look at my KO2 review video and Km3 initial impressions videos to find out more. 2inch OME lift, for tyre size 285/75/r16s, with 38mm spacers for standard 7.5j width Ford rims.
