I have the same car. If you want more rumble... delete the middle resonators add X-pipe and Flowmaster Super 44 (mufflers are made for V6 engines) Huge difference not annoying loud or drone and not expensive too. The X-pipe cost about $30 bucks. The mufflers were $140 each and I had a local muffler install everything for $250... I have zero regrets buying a V6 Camaro. Sound more meaty and I get some low (nice) pops when I shift from first to 2nd I have other upgrades but none that would enhance the sound.. cold intake, slightly larger throttle body, and intake manifold spacer
Those other upgrades def enhance the sound of they sound bring in more airflow I have a cai throttle body throttle spacer jet maf sensor and my cat back exhaust sounds much more nicer now
I love mines been having it for 5 years been putting miles on it. Go it at 87k now I'm at 240k 😂. Only problem I ever had was my water pump went out. Still goin strong😂😂😂
Happy to to hear that I just got a 2011 rs fully loaded with 82k miles an I’m lovin it got it from an older couple that are mechanics so there’s no leak no lights. It’s never been raced**because it was adult owned. Got a good price on it because their daughter had a child and they needed to cut some expenses out of their life I got it for 8k
I got mine 2011 ls used in 2014 with 20k miles. Right now I'm at 127k. In 10 years nothing broke on it. Just wear and tear. Tires, brakes, wheel bearings, battery, spark plugs, fluids. Definitely the most reliable car I owned. Getting 24mpg. Its my beater car for work.
Fellow Canadian here. Got my 2010 RS 1LT for $12,000 comes with 20-inch rims, HID lamps, a spoiler (for the LT model), a Midnight Silver paint finish, darkened tail lights, and body coloured molding, console gauges (battery, oil, etc), leather seats, bluetooth, great boston sound system. Got it in 2017, definitely worth it. Honestly V6 is more than enough, realistically the V8 is just for sound and being able to say you can go extra fast. Because realistically you will never be able to open the car up that much unless you want a big speeding ticket lol. If any V6 owner wants that "V8" sound just put a racing exhaust on it, not super expensive. Take call all my fellow Camaro lovers :)
Solid review! I gotta 2015 LT last year and I love it, it’s my first car and my daily…may not be the fastest out but plenty enough power to have fun…Bluetooth and back up cam were definitely deciding factors tho lol
It certainly seems like this will fit your needs. And that's the biggest factor when buying. What do you want to do with the car and what does it need to do. Hope the new stereo works out.
Really nothing that i HAVE to do. But things i want to do. Im looking at getting new wheels/rims. some lowers and maybe a new paint job. But all of that over the years. So a little here and there.
Different vehicle but..... Have an F150, V6 EcoBoost. Love it, lots of power, slight turbo lag, but great power. Both my sons have F150s in the V8 flavour. What a sound! Yes they both have aftermarket exhausts that enhance the sound. Would I go to a V8. No! The V6 EcoBoost is more than the truck than I need. If I need the extra sound, I can take the baffles out if the aftermarket silencer on the VFR1200F. Thanks for doing the review! Really appreciate that you listen to subscribers asking for it!
im with you there. The power from the V6 is plenty for me. Im not going to be using this as a power car. So ill be working on getting it looking the way i want. But would love to have the V8 sound. Im sure i can get it to have a bit more grunt if we play or change the exhaust.
Great review Greg. I have mostly been a GM fan all my life. My first car was a 1991 Vega. I drove it to the dump (in those days, you could do that) and I flipped it on its roof and cut out both front wheels and my made myself a trailer. The car had 104,000 miles on it. So you made a good choice.👍👍
Nice review. I have just bought my 2011 camaro with the RS PACKAGE and I got say I love it. I to understand about not wanting to spend the extra 6 to 8 thousand for the SS as the V6 does just fine and looks good I must say. I get many compliments as well. I plan to do a few more upgrades in the future. I have owed several camaro in my day from the 01 z28 and 02 35th v6 and a 97 v6. This 5th Gen transformer body is by far is the best. Thank you Chevrolet keep'em rollin
Thats awesome. my camaro has been under a cover for the past 4 months because of winter. Cant wait for spring to come back so that i can get it back out on the road. Enjoy your new ride!
Great honest review!! I have owned many cars in my time mostly v8's,,I bought my 2011 RS/2LT 6speed synergy green camaro a year ago and I gotta say I luv it!! I understand people wanting the ss version but not everyone can afford the insurance on them especially in sum states/cities ,, I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the v6/6speed transmission, after owning it a full yr I will say if you adjust your mirror's properly the "blindspot" is almost non existent,,I have owned sum really nice Cars in my life but I never got so many compliments on a car as I do every single time I take it for a ride,,I think you're really gonna enjoy your Camaro,,,subscribed!
appreciated. with the cost of gas continually going up having a car that could get some reasonable gas mileage was good, plus I totally agree with the insurance. I was so pleased with how low my insurance was for the V6 model. In regards to performance im plenty happy with what this car gives me. Especially having owned multiple camaros from the 80s (1985 Z28 and 1987 IROC) this car surpasses them in every way. Definitely going to have fun playing with this car (probably more cosmetically then performance) over the next few years.
Hi Greg, greetings from SK Canada! 👋🏽🇨🇦 I appreciate the video outlining your opinions and facts regarding the Camaro. I’m 27 and when I was in junior high in my early teens, I’ve always dreamt of acquiring one and now next month I’ll be able to finally have one in the driveway so it’s basically my dream car. Just like you, I’ll probably go for a budget friendly V6 2011 Camaro for $11K so nothing too fancy or too crazy. I don’t need to grip a V8 model as that’s realistically outside my budget range so a V6 will do just fine. Anyways, you’ve earned a sub! 💪🏽
Love Camaros. I had a 75 Camaro 350 small block with the Z28 package(75 didn't have but I added). Bought for $500 put in $2000 back then.... Shadow louvres, Centerline series 50 rims, White with pearl clear. Those were the days.... Might need to think about one again.. Thanks again! Your a bad influence. :P
To everyone that has the V6, install a cold air intake there is no hp gains but the induction sound is glorious when your pounding off the red line she really wants to scream for ya😅
The 5th Gen Camaro has been my dream car since I saw the Transformers movie way back when. After doing much research I decided I wanted a 2013. I was perfectly fine with getting a V6 but absolutely wanted a manual transmission. I got lucky and found and bought a 2013 V6 Camaro 2LT with RS package with just under 15,000 miles on it for $19,000. Luckily my dream car is also pretty dang cheap compared to just about any car these days. It's just a pleasure vehicle not a daily. I plan on keeping it for as long as humanly possible. Unless another car that looks this amazing comes around, is reliable, and I can buy for cheap I don't plan on ever selling it. I've had it for a little over a year now. Zero problems so far.
I have a 2011 Base Camaro too, Mine's a convertible and and Automatic though, I bought it 6 months ago and I absolutely love it. I just bought it to have something to drive while I was rebuilding my 77 Nova that was at the time my daily driver but now I think I'm going to do a little more work on the Nova than I planned to do and make it my weekend car, The only thing I have done to the camaro is put some Torque Thrust wheels on it but it needs a new paint job so I'm going to two tone it, I'm leaving the factory Silver from the top of the fenders down but the top of the fenders up I'm going to paint it a burgundy color with a black pinstripe between the 2.
So, no more Camaro's LOL. GM didn't even bother to replace with electric appliance, just killed it altogether. One of GM's greatest marquee cars ever.... just threw it in the dumpster.
I love this car. I have a ‘21 Chally. I want a 2011 V8 Camaro. They look good and it’s not priced at a new Camaro. Once I get my car done, I’m going for this.
Base model cars that's all I buy I don't need all of electronica gadgets that's just more stuff to go wrong with it that is a really nice looking Camaro 👍
I’m still trying to get me a v6 5th gen camaro. I’m actually trying to get a 2011 Lt rs in blue but financing it being kinda tricky at the moment with how the US economy is and recession.
I have that exact same thing, I bought it used with 207k miles and we had to rebuild it at 217k miles but it is truly and amazing car I highly recommend
Ran into a deal on a 2012 lt convertible. Got it in 2023 with 59000 miles on it. I love that car. It is so fun to drive. I put the rs instrument cluster in front of the shifter. Got a cold air intake on it. I am looking for a set of the rs headlights as well. Wish it was a stick, but I can't complain about the automatic.
@@malikchester7893 Yeah it is reliable. I am the second owner of the car. The people who had it before were an older couple. It was their weekend car during the summer. Car was kept in a garage. No rust under the car. No mechanical issues at all. Really lucked out on finding it. Had to look about 100 miles from where I live.
Very nice honest review. Thanks so much. I am on my way to find same year and trim and manual shifting to buy. Is it ok if it has 150k miles on it but in good shape?
That’s exactly I want to know!! Thanks 😂. My daily car is wrangler, I would love to get a camaro 5th gen for second car. I think that V6 Camaro is very good looking and reliable car 🤩. Maybe On winter time I can’t use it 🤣
9:37 I’m short an it’s perfect, the seats are adjustable 13:53 you have to find the right channel on the fm transmitter, it took me 2-3 tries before I found the perfect one
Is there an after market electronic lane checking device to help with the blind spot? We just bought a used Ford Fusion that has both a beeper and a flashing light on the outside mirror to warn you if you are merging with a car in the lane next to you. Love Camaros had a 67 cloth top RS with a 327 great car! It was a little light in the rear end, hope that has been addressed, makes for driving on slick streets a bit too exciting.
nothing for lane departure or lane checking. And yes camaros are fairly light in the back end which can make that back end slip around a lot. But the new ones do have traction control, which definitely helps. Both my old 85 and 87 camaros had no issues swinging that back end around! Even when you didnt want too.
Yeah. I got mine least year. I live how it drives. It's not that bad on gas (the SS is really bad). Only reason I got the base vs the RS was that I got a great deal on my car. $18k got a car with 8k miles on it (in the market a year ago was not bad)
So now I’m trying to buy a 2013 2LT rs v6 camaro. Hopefully financing goes threw this time. It’s black like yours. I’ve watched this video like 6 times 😂 great video. Very informative.
@@keithhernandez4319 i had to see it for something more practical and not something that I could only drive for 5-6 months of the year due to winter. Was a sad day.
@@gregtoope oh that’s ruff. Yeah I’m gonna be selling my 95 camaro to get a 5th gen. Gonna be a sad day once it sells. Been driving that camaro 25 yrs..
Here I I am with it thinking ima embarrassment bc I have v6 Camaro and you want it makes me feel better I hope everything goes threw fun car v8 here I come sooner or later
im gonna buy a 2011 lt for 14k its the best deal i was able to find here in denver CO, i wish i was able to find one around 11-12 but hey its my dream budget car so lets do it
Hey man, I know this is an old video, but im from Nova Scotia, too. Im looking to buy my first car, and there's a 2013 3.6L near me. It's an auto, but that doesn't really bother me.
Mines a base Camaro as well but ig it had some premium put into it because it has a sunroof, Bluetooth, heated and leather seats, and an led strip on the doors but hope to do sun stuff to it
Hey nice video! This balrebone car is a good first car at a pretty good price. It'll be good for those who are new to the car community What kind of head unit will you get?
High Milage Motor needs solid service record oil changes. tune ups, suspension work, and gasket replacement at 100,000-125,000 miles. bought mine at 140,000~ miles engine blew at 154,000~ transmission took a shit at 165,000~. Life of motor & tranny i'd say is 150,000-225,000. Buy with low milage as possible to avoid dealing with previous owners problems. Love the car and the drive.
Bought in 2021. Ended up selling it as we needed a different car. I just bought a 2010 Ford Mustang Convertible as buy another Camaro was just too expensive
If you want reliability the v6 manual transmission is best. Will last a very long time, and probably not have been abused if buying used The v6 in 2011 had 312 hp, so it's still decent power and had more power than the mustang and dodge v6 , and had better transmissions. I bought a 2011 rs v6 manual 175k Miles for $4500 in 2023 and it gets 30 mpg highway.
Fun right up until the Timing Chain and oil issues kick in. Oh yeh the Trans too. the V6 3.6 is one of the worse engines made. Ever. Forgot about the Overheating engine.
HUH? It is GM’s 3.6 v6 engine which by this time they had timing chain issues but mostly due to not changing your oil regularly. I have an o93.6 in a Cadillac and zero issues in 13 years and 140,000 KMS. But i change my oil very 5000 KMS
@@kennordsfan1494 Sorry 3.6. Thats not what I hear from Techs at dealerships and people that own the car in my Camaro car group. Reason I skipped buying one. Years 2015 up are the ones they fixed the issues. I forgot about the rear Quarters rotting out. Maybe you got lucky.
Im so tired of hearing v6 haters i just want a freaking nice car that huals a little ass lol ive been in bosted and v8s before and i can keep up with them just fine sure the v8s are fun but the v6 is literally just as fun, watching my friends deal with gas and oil leaks, i stay glad im ina v6. Like who cares power is always fun of course, but stop the dumb v6 hate lol is just dumb. Thanks anyway i low key want this car its nice. And manual matters to me more than any v8
v8's today sound like neutered garbage anyways....if I was buying an Older camaro from the 90's or back, THEN it's v8 all day......but for a modern Camaro, v6 still has 300hp, which is More than enough for daily driving.
Your name is Honda man? LOL That explains your comment. Vroom, vroom, Look at me! Check out my unpainted ground effects and fart can muffler Vroom VROOM. LOL

Hi Im planning to buy the same model, any issue should i bother?
I’d love to get a 2011 Camaro v6. But I’d want a automatic. How many miles did yours have when you got it?
You probly would have some luck on the Facebook market, that’s where I got mine, and the guy who was selling it was close to where I live as well
@@Haze_EternaI I’m looking for Camaros on Facebook but how many miles did you get yours? And how much was it?
@@Haze_EternaI is it doing alright so far I’m getting one as well but I’ve heard bad things about the engine
That’s exactly I want to know!! Thanks 😂. My daily car is wrangler, I would love to get a camaro 5th gen for second car. I think that V6 Camaro is very good looking and reliable car 🤩. Maybe On winter time I can’t use it 🤣
Do you know if theirs away to stop the headlights coming on everytime I get in the Camaro or do I have to turn the circle switch to off every time ?
9:37 I’m short an it’s perfect,the seats are adjustable
13:53 you have to find the right channel on the fm transmitter, it took me 2-3 tries before I found the perfect one
What's your height?
It's super good car, that's why It was very successful
Why super?
I bought a 2011 1LT RS, had it for almost 8 years. Loved it. I needed some of the options like bluetooth, 20 inch rims, etc.
bought a 2012 lt this year just love it i had a 1977 when i was 19 and this v6 blows it away
yeah the V6 has no issues with power. Fun car for sure. Enjoy
Just bought 2010 camaro lt v6.good power Like it very much.shame more people didn't buy them .CHEVY DID IT RIGHT.
Any problems so far? How many miles?
Yea how many bro looking to buy a 2010 Camaro v6?
I just love the sexy look of it.. and regular gas and fuel mileage! Right now I have a g37s, premium gas is annoying. Power for days but premium
yeah regular gas is such a nice bonus.
I have a 2011 Chevy Camaro LS V6 3.6 my engine blew out 😢 will a 2015 Chevy Camaro LA V6 3.6 engine fit inside my 2011 without any problems?
My 2011 ss had 8000 miles on it but paid 40.000 for it but it's a beast!
@@bonniemays damn!
How do I send a pic? It's beautiful
There great cars to mod the Camaro is my dream car
I wouldn’t buy a used car from someone who modded it
So now I’m trying to buy a 2013 2LT rs v6 camaro. Hopefully financing goes threw this time. It’s black like yours. I’ve watched this video like 6 times 😂 great video. Very informative.
appreciated. Sadly we no longer have the Camaro. Was great while we had it. Hope to get another one some time soon. I really loved it.
@@gregtoope oh? What happened to the camaro?
@@keithhernandez4319 i had to see it for something more practical and not something that I could only drive for 5-6 months of the year due to winter. Was a sad day.
@@gregtoope oh that’s ruff. Yeah I’m gonna be selling my 95 camaro to get a 5th gen. Gonna be a sad day once it sells. Been driving that camaro 25 yrs..
Here I I am with it thinking ima embarrassment bc I have v6 Camaro and you want it makes me feel better I hope everything goes threw fun car v8 here I come sooner or later
im gonna buy a 2011 lt for 14k its the best deal i was able to find here in denver CO, i wish i was able to find one around 11-12 but hey its my dream budget car so lets do it
im sure you'll love it.
Me living in Cali I owned a bare. Stock charger v6 and for the same price I learned my lesson and I’m getting the v8 next 😂😂 getting a ss soon
Hey man, I know this is an old video, but im from Nova Scotia, too. Im looking to buy my first car, and there's a 2013 3.6L near me. It's an auto, but that doesn't really bother me.
Mines a base Camaro as well but ig it had some premium put into it because it has a sunroof, Bluetooth, heated and leather seats, and an led strip on the doors but hope to do sun stuff to it
On my 2010 rs I just use the USB port in the arm rest to connect my phone to the radio. But I’m definitely buying an apple CarPlay stereo asap
Hey nice video! This balrebone car is a good first car at a pretty good price. It'll be good for those who are new to the car community
What kind of head unit will you get?
I ordered the 'Digital Octopus'. Designed especially for the 5th and 6th gen camaros. It arrived today so hopefully i can install this week.
The v6 is good, but the ss is worth every dollar. I own both, trust me.
Hey I’m 16 and I was gonna get one for $11000 and it’ll be my first car I was just wondering if you think it’ll be a good first car
Thanks for the video.
You are welcome!
Looking at buying the same car for $5000. The drawback is it has 211,000 miles. Do you think thats too high mileage?
High Milage Motor needs solid service record oil changes. tune ups, suspension work, and gasket replacement at 100,000-125,000 miles. bought mine at 140,000~ miles engine blew at 154,000~ transmission took a shit at 165,000~. Life of motor & tranny i'd say is 150,000-225,000. Buy with low milage as possible to avoid dealing with previous owners problems. Love the car and the drive.
Can you put a 2015 Chevy Camaro engine in a 2011 Chevy Camaro?
Het when did you buy that car for 10k becuse in 2023 the prices are insane !
Bought in 2021. Ended up selling it as we needed a different car. I just bought a 2010 Ford Mustang Convertible as buy another Camaro was just too expensive
Awsome video
I love my new camaro, I gotta post one ASAP. I buy new cars every week. When you get a second heck it out please.
all you need is a/c and radio
You might find this hard to believe, but you don't have to have either of those.
Open the windows & sing or I play my harmonica sometimes!!
its an awesome car realy, doesn"t it have usb so you could probably use a bluetooth dongle?
im using a bluetooth fm transmitter, but the stations here are so congested that it doesn't work well.
FM transmitters sound terrible. You can get a Bluetooth dongle that has an aux wire output. It’ll sound much better.
Nice car, what is the weaks point on llt engine... is the injections is reliable like lfx engine!!!
Can you please make a playlist of your camaro videos? Please 🙏
Hi Greg, are you going down the factory route for the stereo upgrade or aftermarket?
Aftermarket. Im hoping it shows up today or tomorrow. There will be a full review with install video as i do the upgrade.
@@gregtoope look forward to it 👍
Love my 2012 RS
How many miles did it have?
About 74000 miles
So I got that camaro I was telling you about. Was wondering if you could help me with afew question I have about the keys and the light switch
maybe. i sold my camaro a year ago. but ill see what i can remember
@@gregtoope actually I got the info I was looking for. But thank you. I’m really enjoying it.
Do you still have it?
How many miles are you at?
89K miles
If you want reliability the v6 manual transmission is best. Will last a very long time, and probably not have been abused if buying used
The v6 in 2011 had 312 hp, so it's still decent power and had more power than the mustang and dodge v6 , and had better transmissions.
I bought a 2011 rs v6 manual 175k Miles for $4500 in 2023 and it gets 30 mpg highway.
I'd like to test Drive this car.
Test drive it and you’ll fall in love on my 3rd 5th gen SS
304hp, 273ft/lb
A VERY SEXY CAR
How's the insurance? lol.
The insurance was surprisingly good. No real difference then it was on my Fiat 500. Might have to do with my age. 😁
regret
I personally would regret it because who in the right mind would get less when more is out there v6 or v8 no brainer 😢
Have you looked at fuel prices!?!?
Yes I have and I can afford it life is one time 🕐 is ticking
Your name is Honda man? LOL That explains your comment. Vroom, vroom, Look at me! Check out my unpainted ground effects and fart can muffler Vroom VROOM. LOL
