    I love my camaro 2LT V6…. 335 hp is great… has mpg is great for me. Runs great. I had the 2.0 4 cylinder 275hp turbo but I didn’t like it. Turbo lag, two recalls, and the transmission shutter… I traded my 2003 Monte Carlo 111,000 miles for my camaro… but I gave the camaro another chance and bought the 2021 V6 2LT and it’s the best Chevy / car I ever owned! Great video. I agree with you!

      I used to wonder why anyone would buy a V6 camaro. A week ago I was in Los Angeles for a week and I rented a Brand new 2023 Camaro with a V6 and it was a very fun car to drive. I will always pick the V8 but the V6 was fast and I smoked a guy in a BMW convertible who tried to cut me off on the off ramp (I knew he would go in front with out signaling like all BMW drivers) i also like the pop from the exhaust with every shift

    Nice review! I own a 2019 V6 (RS package) and I love mine. In my opinion this engine is very underrated. It's not the V8 but its not supposed to be. It's still pretty fun to drive and quick enough that you can still get into trouble with it. I've only had one issue with mine. I was getting the "shift to park" message but it was covered by warranty and quickly repaired by the dealership. I think that issue is more of GM thing than a Camaro thing. I live in Ohio and if u don't mind me asking where did u live while u were here?

      @@scottdavis_34 100% will return as a EV or Hybrid. I’m REALLY hoping for a hybrid. They can use the ERays technology to get around the gas guzzler tax. Scott Settlemire (worked/works for GM Camaro team, I have the screenshot) said around April in the Camaro FB group. That they (GM) had to make a choice because of the regulations being strict. It was either cut Camaro or Corvette.
      My true thought, If it does return as ICE somehow (maybe a federal change in power). There will be no more V6 and no more manual V8. We would be getting the 2.5L Turbo with an auto and a variation of a V8 with an auto. The design won’t be far from the 6th Gen on the exterior. The interior would be heavily refreshed.

    Looking for some advice... (never owned a camaro before, I am 53)
    There is a 2011 1LT conv. V6 on a local used lot I am looking at priced at $13995. It is quite loud, I am thinking it has some sort of exaust mod. Also on 1st test drive it felt like is would not shift above 3rd. Also ran hot while returning to the lot. Top hose hot, bottom warm at best. (Thermostat?)
    Told dealer still interested if overheating fixed.
    Dealer told me before the overheat that the shifting was normal. But I think 55mph should not require a constant 2500+rpm (more like 1700) I am looking for a fun daily driver to do a lot of rural driving for work that would be better on gas than my 99 5.7L yukon 4x4 (I don't need a truck for work)

      If you can afford the V8 on a daily or weekend basis (gas, maintenance, and payment) I’d go V8. I’d keep the Camry, amazing cars for 300+ k miles lol.
      The 3.6L, is a great engine for daily and weekends. Doesn’t require a lot of maintenance. Just 5k miles or 1 year oil changes, follow the schedule and you’re good.
      Great on gas as long as your on the highway, in the city your getting 19-22 lol.
      The 6.2L is amazing (as long as it was taken care of) as well but requires a more thorough maintenance period and uses 4 more quarts of oil every change. Gas mileage is good on the highway but city isn’t as good about 16-20.
      Insurance is not really a big difference (in my experience they are both considered sports cars by insurance companies). It was like 20 bucks every 6 months or something like that.
      I hope this info helps!

It was an amazing car and in hindsight, I think I spent too much time in it wishing I had a V8 because I had some crazy pedestal for the v8 in my mind, but the V6 really isn’t nearly as far off as I thought. It’s an amazing car, worth the money and it’s plenty fast to have a blast with. Also, it’s a great way to start getting into sports cars because with a V8, if you’ve never had a sports car before and don’t have throttle discipline (which I’m not good at having), the thing can easily fly out under you and send you off into a tree or another car. The V6 is a great way to learn to control power and still have enough to have a blast with. I’d honestly recommend starting with a V6 over a V8 if it’s truly your first sports car!

Also, my Bluetooth constantly disconnects while on a phone call which is super annoying. I took it in to get fixed hopefully when I get it back it doesn't have issues anymore. Other than that, I love the car it sounds great, has great handling, good gas mileage, and looks great. Just wish it didn't have issues when i bought it from a BMW dealership, you would think they would've checked out the car more thoroughly before selling it.

    • @ChrisFromFloriduh
      @ChrisFromFloriduh  Год назад +2

      Yep, those are almost all very common issues with the 3.6L and the A8. The temp gauge malfunctions because of the placement (from my understanding). The Bluetooth one is interesting. I never had that issue but I’m gonna be completely honest, I use CarPlay 1000% of the time.
      I hope everything gets fixed soon! It’s probably because it’s a BMW dealership, they don’t specialize in Chevrolet.

      I drove it in the winter from 2017 to 2019. I just washed the underside whenever the weather was above 40 degrees. You must do this otherwise you’ll rot out. In the spring, I would do a complete detail. In the fall, complete detail but wax and seal the fender wells. Wax and protect everything. It was a headache but it was worth it because there’s no rust on my car and it’s 6 years old. Even tho the car spent most of its life in Florida.

    • @ChrisFromFloriduh
      @ChrisFromFloriduh  5 месяцев назад +1

      I will be 100% honest. As someone who graduated college and bought a new sports car in their early 20s. It’s fun and all but if you are stretching your budget for a car, please, do not do that unless it’s about 20% of your income.
      These cars when you are young (I4, V6, and V8) are expensive on insurance. Engine doesn’t matter in my experience, they value all trims as a Camaro and a sports car. They require more maintenance than a normal car. Repairing them and caring for them, isn’t cheap. They are reliable but it’s definitely a car you have to maintain well. Just like any car but nevertheless.
      If it’s over 20-25% of your average income, I don’t recommend. A car isn’t worth being in debt while building your career. A home is a much better investment.
      For me, I had a trade, over 20% to put down and well under MSRP (back in 2017). I was able to easily make my monthly payments. I paid mine off early.
      I’ll make a video in regard to this topic next week.

      If you can get a good deal and can afford it I ABSOLUTELY recommend it and in fact, more than the V8. I’m in my late teens and I started with a V6 and I’m VERY glad I did because I would have killed myself in a V8 if I started on it. The V6 has PLENTY of power, way way more than you think it does and that thing will put a smile on your face every time you let it rip. It’s fun, it’s pretty dang fast for what it is and you will catch a lot of people off guard who expect it to be slow and instead you’re barely right behind them. They’re a blast to own and as someone who now has an SS, they’re 100% worth the money (if you can comfortably afford it) and they’re an amazing car to start on because it’ll teach you to have some respect for the throttle

    as a former V6 2012 mustang, and now currently owning a 2016 camaro 2ss, buying a v6 is a generally a waste of money. A V6 could be enjoyable at first but ultimately it will never come close to how a V8 feels. nonetheless to each to his own and if you're enjoying the V6's thats totally respectable.

      I was going to purchase a 2024 2SS but prices of used and new 6th gen’s are ridiculous. So I’m gonna snag a pavement princess C7 down the line. Corvette is better imo. I’ll probably keep my 6th Gen, it’s paid off with only 40k miles, lol.

    While ive had a few 3.6 v6's it is the absolute worst and most unreliable engine gm has ever made, theuve been nothing bjt an absolute nightmare ranging from rod knock,timing chain guides literally falling out under 50k miles, they make decent power but any modifications other than intake is rolling the dice on how long itll last, not good on gas whatsoever unless you have tall highway gears but then youre pulling a 5 second 0-60 AT BEST..if youre getting for a project car your best bet is to swap with an ls and save the money on insurance

    Real car guys do not buy V6 sports cars! Camaros, Mustangs, Challengers & Chargers are meant to be V8! And the coupe are meant to be manual! I would trade my 2023 ZL1 1LE for anything. Especially an automatic! I get to each there own, but I just can’t own one in a V6 evening knowing the HP it puts out! Awesome color though.
