Before I got my ZL1 I had a 16’ 2SS and the leaking trunk issue is very real. In my case it was the dangling wiring from the third brake light getting pinched on the rubber trunk seal and it went unnoticed until my car wouldn’t start anymore. Had to replace the fuse box and the amp and it costed me $2,000. Solid video! Learned a few things to look out for!

My v6 2019 had the thermostat and coolent sensor issues, I fixed it easy with the right tools not hard to replace just takes patience.
I did a stage 1 full bolt on to the car and keeps up with my friends stock 2018 v8 2ss

More issues than my older 2013 2SS. 10 years owning it, and aside from the general maintenance, I've only replaced the A/C compressor and condensor.

Been having clunking sounds coming from my 2019 2SS front and back when wheel is tilted hard. Clunking popping sounds, car has less than 3K miles.

I have a 2017 v6 1lt with the upgraded bose and 8 unch screen. I'm at 72k. I've had the flush shudder service done, had to have the wire harness under the valve body replaced. Had to replace the coolant sensor, and thermostat. Also added the range device to disable afm. I also gave the npp exhaust and used dry lubricant to remove the afm rattle. I am getting the shift to park, I have to wiggle sometimes. I'll probably buy a new shifter assembly and replace my self. Parts is 130$.

The one about that small piece on the convertibles is 100% true. I just got a 2019 2SS convertible and the one on the driver side is stuck inside the car. It wont slide into place. 😅

coming up on 2years since I got my 22 SS 1LE 6speed. So far havnt had any issues but it just turned only 3800 miles today so it doesnt get alot of use. Only goes out on nice days. My only complaint is the Goodyear supercar F1 tires. Yes they are great for the track but road driving they are loud, stiff and super sticky they throw everything at the car. I put the ZL1 addon delux rock guards on it the day i got it and have the ACS ZL1 side skirts so it has a good bit of protection. I plan on getting new tires next summer.

My 2018 has been great! Warranty covered converter for shutter and it went away. Thermostat happened. Pin hole leak in water pump at 70000 for me. Changed spark plugs lil early. She's been running great! Definitely stick your guns with maintenance on this vehicle.

@@0to60_ I got really lucky I bought my car used through tasca Buick Chevy GMC. It had 61,000 mi on it when I got it, and their platinum warranty went all the way to 135,000 mi. It's only $100 deductible for any repairs done to the car concerning the drivetrain. So luckily it wasn't a big bill for the repairs.

The shutter occurred with me 2017 Chevy Camaro 2.0 here - warranty covered it ! Otherwise would be 5,000 +

The warm start issue is not the starter. It’s the heat soak to the wiring. Add additional grounds, and it’s fixed.
All pushrod v8s with cylinder deactivation has the same issues with lifters. In a manual, the cylinder deactivation doesn’t turn on. FYI.

LOOSE AXEL NUTS BECAUSE THEY ARENT STAKED FROM THE FACTORY LIKE THEY SHOULD BE! If you have "lashing" or "slop" in your drive train where it feels the wheels arent really fully connected to the transmission, thats a tell tale sign. My passenger side axel nut was loose by a few degrees and its worn out my wheel bearing..

Typically these videos are generic with the inclusion of visibility as a point but your video’s very good and well researched.
I’ve seen every one of these issues and the fun to fix them, can say without a doubt if rear trunk leak happens, it will wreck havoc on the electrical system with a few thousand to repair.
GM slapped the A8 shudder with band-aid fix until they swapped the v6 and v8 with the A10 (ultimately leaving the I4 with the A8 till they didn’t offer it for 2024)
I also had a 2016 v6, had the AFM shudder issue. Paid $400 out of warranty for the flush and it returned a year later, ended up tuning the car with AFM turned off, didn’t have an issue since then. Also had the thermostat issue and never fixed it as it was too much of a pain to reach, ended up just disconnecting the battery every time it happened.
I’ve got paint chips right above the factory PPF 7:28. That’s without rock guards, thought side skirts would protect but rock guards are the only way (especially with 1LE width tires)
When I got my ‘22 2SS, I found it had a lifter collapse at 10k miles (fully covered under warranty). I bought it at 11k miles and so far a year later at 23k miles no issues.
Dealership also fixed my exhaust rattle but said it was due to a loose bolt, unsure if it was NPP or not

    • @Bumbleboy92
      @Bumbleboy92 5 месяцев назад

My v6 had both resonator and AFM rattle as well, replaced the resonator with a X-Pipe (Jones eBay) and the AFM just swapped to a factory ZL1 NPP exhaust from a M6 without them

I try because I hate seeing people get ripped off. Plus since I’m a long term owner, I have experiences lol.
I encourage everyone to explain their experiences with these cars because not everyone has a good or bad experience and the more data out there for free, the better.
