I work on technical documentation that include pictures or screenshots, many of which have objects placed over them for highlight purposes. I also have gotten in the habit of making small screen recordings (for complex software interactions), saving them as .gif's, and putting them in the document as well. I uploaded one such document to Teams. When this document is opened in Teams, the objects that were on top of the pictures were randomly removed, and could not be put back. The .gif's don't play. I also had some forced section breaks in the document, and some of those sections were completely missing. I guess collaborating with simple document text is working OK, for what I need it to do, is not working to my satisfaction...

Great video - thanks for posting. Can you do the collaborative real time editing whilst also being on a video conference call within Teams i.e., so that you see one another while editing? Thanks

Hey - you can but the document will appear in a separate browser tab!

Hi, if l place a document in the collaboration space section but l want the students to complete the document individually, do l place the document within this section? currently, l place work within channels, files and class materials but l would like them to see the file in their class notebook(pages) and start to make the changes within the pages. Hope this makes sense.

Hello, is it possible to submit a collaborated document created by a small group in class as an assignment in MS Teams?

Hey Leri. Of course, I’m this situation I would create a Word Document template on OneDrive that is given a unique name for that group. Provide the group with access to that document via a shared link and let them to the work. Once the group work has completed you can simply review each document.

Hey there! The easiest way to do this, is upload your document to OneDrive and go to Mange Access by clicking on the 3 dots to the right of the filename. Enter the names/email addresses of the people you wish to share the document with and click Grant Access. Hope that helps!

I want to open my Teams doc file in Word 2007 but get an error... Could it be a settings problem?

Hey Trevor. Depends on the error message. That’s a fairly old version of Word too …
