Hi! Does it still make sense to learn Data Analytics ? Including SQL, Power BI, Excel tools etc.? Seems like basic knowledge on that would be enough to start a new career. What's your thoughts on that?

Hey Neal - that's a really great and thought provoking question - you had me thinking for a while! I think at this stage Generative AI, inc. ChatGPT is another tool at our disposal alongside SQL, Power BI, Excel etc. During my time using data analytics, I have seen instances where ChatGPT hasn't always used the most effective way of delivering a result, which can be down to the way a question is phrased but also due to assumptions made by the model.
In order to verify the output ChatGPT provides it's useful to understand the fundamentals of data analytics through the tools you mention to ensure you're confident with the end result. I would be hesitant to totally trust ChatGPT to provide the right T-SQL statement for something without being able to verify someway. However, that may change over time as Gen AI develops. I do think Gen AI data engineering skills will sit alongside traditional data analytics roles in business moving forward.
Thanks for an extensive reply! I know AI is still far from being perfect but the pace of development made me thinking if it make sense to learn new skills. Before I learn and master these tools AI will probably do a way better job than I could. So much uncertainty in my head right now. Is there a step to getting the advanced data analysis feature shown at 2:13? I can't figure out what to click.
OpenAI has recently updated the GPT-4 interface - this step is no longer required. Simply attach the file(s) using the paperclip icon in the message window and upload your files for analysis.

How do we install the Advanced Data Analysis plugin? I've tried but even as a chatgpt4 subscription I don't see the selection where it should be in the pulldown menu.
