Ive been using Canva for nearly 2 years now and I have learnt so much in watching this video. I highly recommend everyone to watch your videos if they are getting into sublimation. Thanks for your tutorials
Thank you so so much!! I just made my first sublimated tumbler. Not perfect, but pretty close!! I was saving so many of your videos, I finally made you your own file!!
Great work Jennifer, you make it all look so easy. I have bought a HTVFront sublimation tumbler machine. Will I need the shrink wrap and butcher paper to use with this machine? Also where is the best place to purchase the sublimation blanks?
Using a hairdryer instead of a heat gun for shrink wrap might not be the best idea. Hairdryers typically don't get as hot as heat guns, and they may not provide the consistent heat needed to properly shrink the wrap around your tumbler. This could result in an uneven application and potential issues during the sublimation process.
To change the measurement units in Google Docs from centimeters to inches, follow these steps: Open Google Docs. Click on "File" in the top menu. Select "Page setup" from the dropdown menu. In the "Page setup" dialog box, look for the "Paper size" section. Click on the "Set as default" button if you want to make inches the default for all new documents. Click on the "OK" button to apply the changes.
Thanks so much for the video. I have noticed one several different tumbler sublimation that people are not adding butcher paper. They are placing the tumbler in the press with design and no butcher paper. Is the a correct or new way of sublimating?
Using butcher paper is recommended for a little protection during the sublimation process. It helps ensure that the design is tight against the tumbler and can prevent any potential issues with ink transfer or ghosting. However, some people might skip this step if they feel confident that their design is secure enough without it, or if they are using other methods like shrink wrap tubes to keep the design in place. While it might work for some, using butcher paper adds an extra layer of security to avoid any mishaps.
Oh! Oh! Oh! I have a video idea. I buy a lot of 20oz tumbler wrap art from Etsy. There isn't as much available for the 30oz. I try to do "magic expand" in Canva and the results are things of nightmares, I mean it is freaky stuff. Can you do a video on how to convert a 20oz art to 30oz?
Hi Jennifer, one question - after downloading design from Canva into your computer, why can’t the image just be printed directly from the file? Why do you open up Google Docs first? (So, I lied, I had two questions, haha)
Thanks so much for this! I really needed it. However, I am having a problem with Google Docs. I put in the measurement that I want (9.375 x 8.0) and I've checked everything. It shows "inches", it shows 8.5 x 11 paper, it is in landscape, etc. Once it has printed on my ET-2800, the measurements don't match up. Luckily I am printing test pages with copy paper and black and white, but what am I doing wrong?
It sounds like you're doing a lot of things right, but there are a few areas where issues might be arising. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and ensure your print measurements match up: 1. Check Printer Settings: - Make sure your printer settings are set to "Actual Size" or "100%" and not "Fit to Page" or "Shrink to Fit." This can often cause discrepancies in the printed size. 2. System Dialog Settings: - When you go to print, make sure to use the "Print using system dialog" option. This gives you more control over the print settings. - In the system dialog, ensure that the paper size is set correctly to 8.5 x 11 inches and that the orientation is set to landscape. 3. Margins and Scaling: - Double-check that all margins in Google Docs are set to zero. Sometimes, even a small margin can affect the final print size. - Ensure that there is no scaling option selected in the print dialog that might be altering the size. 4. Printer Calibration: - Sometimes, printers need to be calibrated to ensure they are printing accurately. Check your printer's manual or settings for any calibration options. 5. Print Quality Settings: - Ensure that the print quality is set to a standard or high setting. Sometimes, draft or low-quality settings can affect the print size. 6. Test with Different Software: - As a final check, you might want to try printing the same document from a different software (like Adobe Acrobat or another word processor) to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with Google Docs or the printer itself. You can always ask in the group for help: facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy
@@JenniferMaker thank you so much for your response. I have tried it from inkscape, and Google docs, and still have the same result. I finally made my design larger and finally got something that would fit. I actually reinstalled my printer to no avail. I appreciate everything that you just sent me and will go back over everything again, even though everything that you’ve mentioned I have done except for finding a way to calibrate my printer. It is so frustrating as I was making Tumbler wraps in November and December and I just used the same settings that I was using then… . Thank you so much!!

Here are some steps to help you fix this issue: Lock Aspect Ratio: Make sure the lock aspect ratio is checked. This ensures that the proportions of your image remain consistent when you resize it. Right-click on the image. Select "Image options." Go to "Size & Rotation." Ensure the "Lock aspect ratio" box is checked. Set Specific Dimensions: Enter the exact dimensions you want for your image. In the "Size & Rotation" section, input the desired width and height. Wrap Text: Use the wrap text option to position your image correctly without it affecting the size. Click on the image. Select the "Wrap text" icon from the menu that appears below it. Resize as a Group: If your project involves multiple layers or elements, select all elements and resize them as a group to maintain proportions. Select all elements on your canvas. Resize them together to keep everything in proportion. Check Printer Settings: If you are printing, ensure your printer settings are correct to avoid any changes in size. Go to the file menu and choose print. Select your printer under destination. Click the arrow beside more settings and click print using system dialogue. Make sure your sublimation printer is selected under printer. Under layout, click flip horizontally to mirror your image if needed.

The has temperatures for top and bottom. To what temperature do I set each? Do I put the tray on top or bottom? Thanks.🥰

If you have sublimated on a tumbler and later decide to add to it (not over the original), will it ruin it?
Yes, you can sublimate a tumbler more than once, but the re-sublimated design may be more likely to scratch or scuff than the original
@@JenniferMaker, thank you!
@@JenniferMaker it worked! Thank you so much!
