Morocco Surfing Away From The Crowd

  • It's been Windy lately!!
Last week, Stuart & I escaped the winter gales & showers (in Ireland) for some fine African sunshine for a very short trip. Morocco is an amazing place to visit in the winter months and It's always a memorable trip and the waves were epic as usual. Samuel & Alex, both living in Bundoran came along for the ride.
This year we went north to the beautiful fishing village of Imsouane. The welcome from the local surfers & local community is always something that is so special about a Moroccan Surf Trip. These surfing villages along the west coast of Morocco provide much welcomed employment in surf lessons for the local surfers. Surfers & people learning to surf from all over Europe visit towns like Imsouane & Taghazout.
One of the highlights of a trip to Morocco is the cuisine. On leaving the airport, we immediately pulled over & had our first TAGINE. What a beautiful country and so many awesome aspects to the Moroccan culture.
Our flights from Dublin to Agadir were 19 euro (each way) with Ryanair. A short but sweet trip (2 nights). Nice to get back home to family in one piece and sit back down on the coach with the chocolates, in preparation for Christmas.
    MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL:)
I'm grateful that God has visited us. Joy to the World, the LORD has come.
For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
    And he will be called:
    Wonderful Counselor,* Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9.6)
Like buckets and spades, surfing & travel go hand in hand, l. In the months of Nov-Feb Morocco is a very attractive option for European surfers to escape the North Atlantic wind & rain. When a flight for NINETEEN EURO (each way) presented itself on Ryanair, Stuart & John made the call to get on a Monday afternoon flight from Dublin. We stayed in OCEANA SURF CAMP in Taghazout on Monday night, surfed Killers on Tuesday morning and made the call to go look for a less crowded space and decided to drive north.
Imsouane is just 90minutes north of Taghazout and is home to one of the longest waves in Morocco and a large number of the surf schools. We stayed our second night in 'Chez Hafid's', one of the original surf houses in Imsouane. It's a beautiful spot overlooking the surf break Cathedrals.
Being a surf school owner, I love how Imsouane caters for every level of surfer and how surfing & surf coaching provides so much employment in this little surfing & fishing town.
This trip was a short one. We had checked the charts before booking and the Canary Islands were looking sunny with lots of waves. 48 hours we flew back to Ireland, in time to pick up the kids for school on Thursday.
In the history of surf travel, this flight from Dublin to Agadir with Ryanair, must be up there at the top of the 'best ever' list. Thanks to all the hospitable locals we met in Imsouane. It's such a friendly place.
Surfing away from the crowd. We scored epic, glassy surf on Tuesday night with only one other person out. Hope you enjoy the video & the HOPE thought from Imsouane. Praise the LORD. John

There's a wave not that far south of Agadir you could have gone to if you had a 4 wheel drive rental & knew where it is (offroad). Maybe as good as Safi & no body for miles.

But Mirleft & Sidi Infi is the place for uncrowded waves now. Mirleft has a great right hand point (not the one I'm talking about though).

    Hi there folks,
Thanks for the video and the surfing but I am afraid your Christian beliefs are not logic and they don't add up. Almighty God was never Jesus Christ ( God bless him) in the flesh, in the mortal flesh. What kind of God was he todie or let some criminals crucify Him !!! Think about ! God would never let this happen otherwise he wouldn't be Almighty, would he? Jesus was real, he was the messenger of Almighty God, distinguished in this world and the next. Due to the hostility of the Romans and the Judas people, Almighty God raised Jesus son of Mary to himself after purifying him and abandoned the hostile Romans and Judas people to do the unthinkable to a look a like person and let the Romans and Judas people bring destruction upon themselves through their evil, sadistic crucifixion of the look a like. They tortured and killed an innocent man. In return the mighty Romans sealed their fate as the Muslims smashed their mighty empire and the second Temple of the Judas people was destroyed and their were scattered around the world as a punishment from Almighty God. Hell is real, it exist and it is the destination for a lot of people. There is One God, Almighty God without Saints, Sons or sisters. Almighty God sends messengers to people to worship him and save them from Hell. He is the Most Hight, the Most Great. One God, exulted in might with 99 names.
Have a good and may the Lord, Almighty God, Not Jesus Christ ( God bless him) have mercy upon you!
