The cool breeze off the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea on the coast, make Morocco a great surf country during most months of the year.
Thanks to its consistent waves, Morocco is widely regarded as a year-round surfing destination. However, it is during autumn and winter that the country’s breaks truly come to life.
The region south of the Atlas Mountains, between Essaouira and Agadir, is home to the best surf spots in the country.
Taghazout
Taghazout and its neighboring town of Tamraght are dotted with surf shops, cafes, and restaurants serving finger-licking’ Moroccan cuisine.
Morocco’s most notorious surf spot and the most popular in the Taghazout area, Anchor Point, promises the ride of your life.
This is a great wave for intermediate and advanced surfers.
Tamraght
Located near the village of Aourir, this surf spot got its name from the banana plantations overlooking the bay. Here, Banana Point is a long right hander that is excellent for all levels and that hardly ever gets crowded.
Banana Point is a great wave for beginners. If you just started surfing you will learn a lot at Banana Point.
Imsouane
Just outside the sleepy fishing village of Imsouane, The Bay is a long right-hander and one of the longest wave in Africa. A heaven for beginner surfers and longboarders, this break fires up between August and March.
The Bay is a perfect spot for beginners and also for those surfers who trying to catch their first green wave.

Amazing great guide
Thank you.
Great video
Well done!
Thank you!
great job on the guide very accurate on all the good points of Morocco. Excellent cinematography lads. Always nice to set expectations correctly for people, so one suggestion would be to include some of the negatives, such as pollution and the crowd factor so people understand what places like Imsouane bay and Anchor point are like
all the love from marrakech 👍🏻❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I read some strange comments here and just wanna say: respect the culture the religion and the people - if you are not able to give love - you should not expect it from others!

*Underrated video 🔥🔥🔥*
jokubas vaitkevicius agreed!
Appreciate it :)
Fantastic video with great production level. I am planning a trip to Morocco in December with some friends and will for sure reference your tips. Cheers :)
But there is no surf in december
@@amineab9622 👋Actually, December is a great month to surf in Morocco. The best surf season in Morocco starts in late September to April. Best between December and March. This is when the big winter swells from the North Atlantic hit Moroccan's shores.
Thanks for the video, there are some other good spots in the middle of the country like Mehdia, Plage des nations, Oued Sharrat, Bouznika but those you have mentioned are the top.
Hi @Tripaneer. Yes, you are right, you can find a lot of good surfing spots throughout the coastline of the country, Especially from Safi to down south. Safi has a good surfing spot called Rass Lafaa. I have been there once but I did not surf because the tide was low.
I am living in Rabat and I usually surf only on the spots close to me, they are not as good as the ones in the south but we enjoy them. In summer, most people go down south to surf because the waves do not stop there:)
Thanks so much for the info!
Awesome thanks guys!! wife and I are taking a month long trip there in July she wants to do a lot of yoga I want to do a lot of surfing, so loved the surf info and the extra stuff to do and try at the end of the vid. great job! see ya out there.
That's great! Fingers crossed all works out :)
Yes morocco is one of the best surfint spots
imsouane is just a paradise for surfers!
I love it!! Hopefully will make it to morocco in the near future 💓

@moamineisinthehouse
Super helpful, thinking about heading there in November
Have fun!
@@Tripaneer we just booked our flight for nov 6-20th can’t wait!
Accurate
Awesome! Thank you ! Hmm what's it like visiting outside of Oct-March..? Like April ish...
It's the best time to visit :) "The best time to surf in Morocco is between October and April" (for surf)
The days become warmer and longer but the evenings are still cool.
Tourist traffic increases quite a bit. so book your stay as early as possible.
All three places look amazing! When is the best time for a surf camp in these places?
@@Tripaneer Great, thanks!! I'll keep it in mind for the December holidays then!
Woww really really nice video !!
This video should have millions of views !!
I went to morocco and that’s exactly what I did ... makes me remember of how amazing this place was ! Keep like this quality videos you will make it !!
Thank you for the kind words.
Where did you surf in Morocco?
Tripaneer 👌yeah morocco it’s amazing . As I said I went nearly exactly to the same places you are explaining . From the very first place I went was Tamrahgt then I moved on to Taghazout , and finally arriving to the longest waves in Imsoune after that I end up walking around in Imgrade, Tafedna and Essouira as my final destination before going back to Marrakech for my fight. This was more less 20 days . Now I’m going back to morroco for one moth and I will start surfing in the north and end up in the Sahara.
@@Jonathandaniel2992 bro do you have you're own car or a rental?
Rama Doyle you mean in morocco?
No , I don’t im going always with random people that want to go to the next village!
best time, in my memory, Oct-Nov;}}}}ko
loved this video, did you guys go surfing casablanca though, if so what was it like?
Hey, no, the Tripaneer team didn't surf in Casablanca.
Maybe some of our followers have and could help you with details?
Tiger zoo is lit
U have to visit also safi in ras lafaa point
Ras lafaa and lala fatna
What about Kenitzer aka media plate? I lived there in 1970. no other surfers back then.
Surely there are some good spots to the South of Agadir too? seems to be the same three towns on every review video
👌🏽🔥
Great fucking video man!!!!!
Thank you!
don't forget to check if a sewer is emptying in the spot where you surf. speaking from experience. that was a long week of suffering from double dragon.
Paradise Valley is east* of Taghazout
Dude! What about safi...one of the best waves in morocco
Thanks for the suggestion :)
Safi is not to much consistent, and doesn't have near options, I was two times but didn't find rolling. It is an incredible spot and wave but need west swell
Safi is so polluted by the phosphate factories , i woudn't even swim there
is there good wifi in these spots for remote work? and do you need a car to get there from the bigger cities? thanks for the upload!
Everyone who wanna come to visit my country, you re so welcome, im a beginner surfer too, and these places are truly magical, u gonna love every second of your trip here
U can reach me for any informations, i will be gladly open to answer you
🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦
Imsouane is the village in Morocco
🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦❤️❤️❤️❤️
We are probably going to auorir in februari but some of my friends are worried it's going to be too cold with 11-19 degrees celsius. Does anyone have any experience with the weather there around februari? Is there going to be sun, so we're able to swim as well?
Hi, that's so awesome that you are going. Find out more info here: www.booksurfcamps.com/news/surf-guide-morocco
It's likely that you won't be able to swim, too
Awesome video, but Idk how lucky you must have gotten with the locals... Some places are friendly yes but especially the most advanced waves there are a lot of bad vibes, to the point of two marrocans leaving the outside and coming to the inside catch shitty waves to block me and my friends, so yeah bear that in mind everyone
Zé Inácio maybe you are the problem and not the locals man! How dare you put all the locals in a bad vibe list???
@@MindManifestator Get real dude there's localism everywhere even Morocco bro
Nice edit!
But some absolutely wrong information.
Imsouane waves until 3km😄
Welcome to mrocco hahahah
good job!
but about teperature?
6:36 agadir has a good weather condition it is sunny even in the winter season it is cold only early morning and night but during the day it is 24 to 26 degrees
thanks@@ayoubog1997
Why is Pedro Pascal with them at 5:55 ????
Jesus, the folks in this video make me feel like I shred
I wanna go and surf but I have no idea about surfing
Hi, you can join a beginner's surf camp and learn to surf

Same!
@@benjaminbeames665 nice ben see u on the lineup
I don't know what that haha is it a surf thing I take it? You going alone? I'm doing it through better adventures website. It's in a group, should be fun!
Please échange
What’s about Essaouira ?
Thanks for the comment. Our team hasn't filmed there for this clip :)
....
Just respect local people and they will treat you like a King
Moroccan cuisine 😏 naya
are there any other lefthanders? :(
Gero Ziegler yeh that’s what I was wandering
@geroziegler @wackywaller
Unfortunately, Morocco is known as the land of the right-hand point break, and so not many lefthanders. Almost all swells come from the north so they get mostly righthander waves. Regardless, Devil’s Rock in Taghazout offers right and left waves (but, in particular, a right hand). You can find more info about the particular surf spots in Morocco in our blog post as well: bit.ly/2lAXdlo
@@Tripaneer allright thanks :)
Very bad footage, got it all wrong in a very comercial way! Plus i love the 3 km wave in imsouane! Ahahah
How's it to travel here for a single woman?
Hi Susan. World Nomads have a good article on this subject www.worldnomads.com/travel-safety/north-africa/morocco/women-and-travelling-in-morocco
Just make sure to dress conservatively and be prepared to avoid some areas
